My truck had been parked in my driveway overnight. this morning when i cranked up the truck, the passenger airbag deployed with no warning. there was no crash or previous incident such as hitting something weeks and months before this. some recalls for the driver side suggest that a dash light will indicate a problem with the airbag, however, this was not the case for my truck. the airbag shattered the windshield sending small pieces of glass flying on the inside and exterior of the truck. besides the shock, hours later my hearing is still not the same on my right side. *tr
Contacted ford regarding a recall of ford 150s including my model year that included a risk of airbag deployment. the airbag and horn on my f150 have stopped working, just as in the recall. however, ford says that my vehicle is not included, despite an identical problem. it is my understanding that nhtsa requested a larger recall than ford issued, one that would likely have included my vehicle. this is why i'm entering the information here. contacted local ford dealer and ford corporate, told by both that i couldn't receive recall fix. i am afraid that the airbag will deploy when i start the vehicle, or wont deploy when i need it in an accident. *tr

I own a 2004 ford f-150 truck. 3 weeks ago, i received a recall notice #11s18 from ford motor co,explaining that a defect with the wiring harness could cause the driver's side airbag to spontaneous inflate while driving. i called the dealer, sheehy ford of warrenton, va. to schedule service to address the hazard, but they said ford "had underestimated demand on the recall" and they didn't have "the neccessary parts" to fix my vehicle, and to call back "in a couple of days." that's been their response now for 3 weeks. the letter from ford stresses the potential danger of my vehicle's defect, but the dealer is suggesting ford sent out letters and alerted people to the problem without producing enough replacement parts to fix it. the situation is not being handled properly. 3 weeks after receiving a recall letter, my dealer has yet to act, and nothing has been done to address the problem. *tr
This is in relation to an existing recall notice for 11s18. i have been trying to get this fixed since i got the recall notice may 9. i have called friendly ford springfield mo every tuesday and am told they do not have the part to fix it. the last time i was told to take it to another dealer farther away because they have it. they also told me to call the ford customer service number which i did and got a recording saying it was temporarily unavailable. what am i supposed to do at this point to get this fixed before a more serious situation arises. ford and friendly ford doesn't seem to want to fix it regardless of what you say!

Our 2004 ford f150 4x4 truck was subject to recall 11s18. when we took the truck in for the recall work at the nearest ford dealer service department informed us that they didn't have the parts to complete the recall work on our truck because the service rep said that ford only sends them five of the harness recall parts per day and they have been dealing with over 30 calls per day for this recall work and they have no idea when they will get the part to complete the recall work on our truck but they will call when they get the part. this is unacceptable in a safety recall. *tr

I have a 2004 ford f150. the drivers airbag light flashes intermittently. i found that there is an upcoming recall by ford to fix the problem for 05' and 06' but not 2004. i read in an article that nhtsa has recommended that ford include the 2004 models. i contacted my local dealer and they said the did not know of any recalls for the f150 airbag problem. i offered to email them the articles but they said they did not have email. i told them the light was flashing and they told me it would cost 49.95 to look at the problem and i would have to pay for the total repair. i am concerned that the dealer does not have this knowledge and are unwilling to deal with something so obviously dangerous. in one article it said that if the warning light was flashing i should take my truck to the dealer immediately. is the 2004 model going to be recalled and when??? if i pay for this expensive repair i am concerned i will not be reimbursed once the recall occurs. how long will it take for nhtsa to force ford to step up before a fatality occurs?? i have a textbook situation occurring that nhtsa has identified and i can not get anything done about it! *tr
