Car kept stalling in the middle of the road and then completely stalled out after going 40mph. no indication of a transmission error. changed transmission fluid and still doesn't want to drive. sometimes the acceleration on the vehicle is terrible and the ac gives out and i need to constantly turn it off and turn it back on to work. having to tow it to ford because it's not drivable and spend all this money on a car i'm still paying for, getting rid of it and not buying another ford ever again.
I had noticed coolant depleting finally got recall. dealer reprograms now engine is just revving and looses all power to powertrain in multiple situation-3 from stop, 4 while going highway speed with constant speed prior each time the engine rev's up while giving no power. then will spontaneously resolve within about 50ft then seems fine. i have video of the car doing this while i was attempting to get on the highway. we looked at oil and there is milk looking residue. the loosing power has only happened since reprogram for recall and now the cam shaft & high pressure fuel pump are destroyed per dealer this is my issue not recall related. again these problems have only started within a week of the recall reprogramming of the vehicle
On 1/9/20 the car had its last dangerous malfunction of so many sense i purchased the vehicle from a dealership 10/18. the car was parked in a beach parking lot. as my son was getting ready to leave the parking lot he turned car on put car in drive slightly stepped on gas to begin pulling out and the car surged and accelerated full speed by itself. he lost all steering and had no breaks. he had absolutely no control of the vehicle. it went full speed into a parked car about 15 ft away! both cars were totaled. all 3 people involved were injured. there was 2 people in parked car and my son who was burrowing my car. previous to this accident the escape has had so many dangerous malfunctions. some being total steering loss while i was driving 45mph .car was towed and fixed covered by factory recall. another shock snapped and punctured my fuel tank. my mechanic said i dodged death by driving . he said car was a ticking bomb. ive replaced 2 abs sensors at different times because they failed and caused break pedel to vibrate and made it very hard to stop. another ...
While driving my car it began to accelerate on its on, i was able to control the speed by pushing on the brakes, the instant i removed my foot of the break the car accelerated on its own again. i found an area to park, turned off the car. i restarted the car to drive home the car again accelerated on its own, i parked it in a open lot , turned the car off. when i started the car the engine made a loud rubbing sound. at this point i had my car towed for service.
Over the past few months my car has started to loose power and cut off randomly. i was out on december 26, 2019 and my vehicle cut off 4 times. luckily i was not in heavy traffic so i did not get into an accident. i have to restart the car each time. when i called ford motor company on december 23, 2019 to report what was happening, i was told i would have to pay $125 for a diagnostic to be ran on the vehicle and would be responsible for applicable repairs due to their being no open recalls regarding gas pressure. this alone makes the vehicle unsafe to drive on the highway.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford escape. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle experienced a loss of power, jerked, and the wrench icon illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact managed to veer to the shoulder of the road. when the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it resumed normal operation. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vin was not included in a recall. the dealer was not notified. the failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Randomly the car will 'stall' to to speak even though it is an automatic and not a 5-speed. when i say stall i am referring to when i am stopped at a stop sign, red light, yielding to turn, etc - when i go to hit the gas the rpm's rev up high and the car speed is very low and at a rolling speed - even though i push down all of the way in order to get the car to speed up to avoid being struck my other vehicles when turning. the car will then regain all speed at once - instead of gradually. this has happened numerous times while i am trying to merge onto an oncoming interstate ramp or am at a red light or stop sign. i have missed being hit thus far but have had a few close calls. i have a check engine light on and have taken it to several dealerships and auto mechanic shops that have been unable to determine an issue with the car. they have read the check engine code and have found nothing wrong with the car.
At 76,851 miles my transmission failed and according to ford metal pieces found was found in the fluid i was on my way home when my vehicle just stopped in the middle of on going traffic i've only have it for two years and take very good care of it but was never told that any transmission issues were detected before that the bypass coolant valved code would appear even though i have repair it twice this year .
The vehicle while in motion on a city street suddenly decelerated and goes at a very slow speed. the accelerator will not move the car forward or faster. we have been told by a mechanic that it may be an issue with the shifter cable bushing. there was a recall: 18s20 but when i inquired with ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 they stated the vin to my car was not on recall. referred me to nhtsa or a ford dealer directly. i do not understand if the vehicle is the year and model why my car is excluded from this recall
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while depressing the accelerator pedal at various speeds, the rpms would rapidly increase and the vehicle would shut off without warning. the manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the failure could be related to the throttle body. the contact was given a cost estimate for the repair and was advised to have the vehicle diagnosed at a local ford dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 126,000.
