Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2013 Ford Escape

When driving this vehicle, it ser me like it is not running right, and think it is going to die on us in traffic. the front seat belt does not go back in the area where it belongs and sits on the front seat. the passenger driver side door does not close right when you open it. it will stay open until you push the handle down and then it will close and lock. we are afraid to travel long distance with the vehicle because of the way the car acts and run. we just want it fix or replace vehicle.

The engine stalls out in the middle of the highway. it has done this off and on for 2 out of the 3 years ive had it. also, mysteriously runs low on coolant and ive been getting warning signals telling me engine temperature is dangerously high, even if i just start the car! *dt

Display will read engine fault service now and then the car will seem like it restarts, it will next read transmission not in park, this will happen while i'm driving 75 mph down the freeway. i took the car into the ford dealership and they replaced the wiring harness that was recalled, but it didn't fix the issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and the battery, heat, and oil warning indicators illuminated intermittently. the contact stated that the failures occurred three times. the vehicle was able to coast to the side of the road. the contact powered off the engine. once restarted, the vehicle drove normally. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. on two occasions, while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle stalled. the contact was unable to restart the vehicle until approximately two hours later. the vehicle was towed to #1 cochran ford of allegheny valley (located at 110 route 908, natrona heights, pa 15065, (877) 844-2719) where it was diagnosed that there was corrosion to the fuse and wires, which needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000. the vin was not available.

I drive to town park to go in a store come back to my car start it and go to drive as i pulling in traffic it dies it starts back up and does it again for 4 to 5 times before finally driving normal, on hot days as the car is driving it will read as if it is over heating and pull reduce power in witch as u finally get out of traffic and pull over the heat hand drops back down like it wasn't hot this repeats on ever small hill i go up and the inside temperature reading goes up and down while this is happening and it is leaking coolant on back side of engine as all the other ford escape that was recalled that caused the fire

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed drops of fluid emerging from the engine compartment. while driving approximately 55 mph, smoke emerged from the engine compartment into the vehicle cabin. the contact puledl over to the shoulder and called roadside assistance. the vehicle was towed to the dealer (frontier ford, 3701 stevens creek blvd, santa clara, california, (408) 241-1800) where it was diagnosed that a wiring harness was burnt and needed replacement. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 97,000.

My kids and i were in the drive thru at schlotzky's when i put my car in 'park' to order. once my order was complete and i was ready to pull forward, i went to put my car in 'drive' and the gear stick was moving freely but not shifting the gears for my car to move. a team member from the restaurant came out to give me a hand to find that my shifter cable was disconnected. he then told me to use the emergency brake to park my car so it would park and not continue in motion when i wanted to park. we then took it to mieneke where the car previously was for a transmission replacement. they said that my shifter cable had gone bad. now my gear stick gets stuck with trying to shift gears.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to galpin ford (1000 sandretto dr., prescott, az 86305) where it was diagnosed that the engine wiring harness failed. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred numerous times after the repair. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 15v813000 (electrical system), but the vin was not included in the recall. the manufacturer was notified and informed the contact to call nhtsa. the failure mileage was 112,000. the vin was not available.

My escape sel 1.6l 6 months ago after getting a full tank of gas my car started and then started to shake and stopped. car would not restart for 10 mins and only if i press the gas pedal to the flood. call dealership and they said they had not heard of a problem and let them know if it occurred again. my car is stalling making a noise, shaking and then no power just dies. i am scared for my safety. it does it now while i am driving. i have found where there is a recall for the same year built and type car for this issue. just not for the 1.6 engine but the 2.0 engine. i have had the car checked at to car places and they can not find the issue.... this car is not safe please help!!!! please look at the nva-215sm 15v-813 agian this happens while i am driving down the road at 45 miles an hour or pulling our from a stop!! i have looked on line an there are at least 40 other complaints about the 2013 escape 1.6l stalling while being driven! this is a safety issue!! and clearly the same issue as listed above on the 2013 escape 2.0 engine they were made at the same plant in louisville, same year etc... i am concerned i will be hit or my car. i can not let me teenager drive this car!!!! help help help

Whilst driving on streets and highways, at least 1 month, me and my wife began noticing 2013 ford escape 1.6 hesitate! and stall, several times on and off streets and highways.pcm, module is sending incorrect signals, codes read, com needs reprogramming, also coolant system leaks!, may be causing over heating, and fire in engine compartment, water pump went out, wednesday june 6th 2018, car is now at ford dealership, for, investigation into recall work. that may have not been performed. prior to sale to dealership where we purchased it. we would like any updated information about recall repairs performed by fleet?, company that sold it to super auto sales., including calibration and over heat software to prevent over heating etc., along with 13 other original recalls that should have already been performed, and some record who recall repairs were performed by etc. also the driver and passenger seatback recliner mechanism has insufficient strength, becomes loose and leaning while i'm driving on streets and highways, this been since purchased under a year ago pre-owned 100,486 miles on odometer. also constant smell of strong gas coming from engine compartment, low gas mileage, significant loose of engine coolant, etc.as mentioned prior in my compliant, full line and fuel pump may need service, because of strong gas fumes in and around vehicle. thanks for your time. this happened over a period of a month till it broke down and we had it towed, we just found out about recall, and wad not told it was needed or had been performed by super auto sales in modesto ca. dealership we purchased pre owned vehicle is super auto sales 4312 disk rd. modesto ca. 95356 (ph: 209-689-5455),

Engine wiring harness and sensor problems in 2013 ford escape with 2.0 liter engine that was not included in previous safety recall. while on a vacation trip in february, 2018, the engine fault warning light came on in our 2013 ford escape titanium with the 2.0 liter engine after restarting the car and entering the highway. it was followed by the check engine light. as we drove to the nearest ford dealership, the car was increasingly hesitating and seemed to be misfiring, a dangerous situation since highway driving was required. the service technician at the dealership did an analysis and determined that the problem was in the map sensor. he replaced that sensor under warranty and the problem was apparently fixed until june 4, 2018, when identical problems appeared after a stop on a local trip.the car was parked at a safe location and on june 6 driven to a local dealership for service and repair. analysis by the technician showed that there are problems in the engine wiring harness that are disrupting signals from the map sensor and the cam sensor, and that replacement of the complete engine wiring harness is required to fix the problem. although this car was built during the same period as the cars covered by nhtsa campaign number 14v495000 and it has the same engine specifications and the same apparent problems, it was not included in that recall. it is clear to me it should have been. further, it seems there are potential significant safety concerns regarding all 2013 and 2014 ford escapes with the 2.0 liter engine that were not included in the original recall.

I have already submitted one statement. i am just wondering why my vehicle wasn't included on the recalls listed below when it sounds like the exact kind of problem i have been having with my vehicle. when started it doesn't take off and get up to speed without hesitation and stalling. and when i do get up to speed it loses power at the most inopportune time i have been in several near accidents due to the engine not running properly. the codes that have been coming up. and the check engine suggestions. have been tested by four different mechanics none of which could fall find a problem till recently. and i'm being told that the turbo boost code is been caused by faulty wiring which is happened to be totally replaced. as per my other statement i am having it repaired tomorrow but not being reimbursed. and if other 2013 ford escape drivers have had this issue there may be some unrecorded desk due to the engine stalling on the highway and the inconsistent running up the engine when these codes pop up. the codes are also sporadic as i said in my other statement. one time you turn the car on and have a problem shut it off and the next time the codes are cleared. i have been living with this daily for a month

Engine light and service engine soon message appeared. car stalling and won't accelerate. took to victory ford in kansas city after 5 hours they couldn't figure out what the problem was other than replacing the sensor. hundred and $69 for the diagnosis. i was out of town so baby. did it all the way back home had a local dealership put the sensor in. another $74.. in the meantime engine code would sporadically disappear. and reappear period for no apparent reason. had the local dealership check the code again keeps reading turbo problems. they're ford machine was down so i took it to a dealership in the next town. specific coding showed that is a wiring and splice problem. in the meantime i've almost been run over several times because the car won't accelerate when the code is thrown. if there's a problem with the wiring harness it should have been covered under a recall which i've been told it is not. and tomorrow dealership is replacing all of the splicing and wiring for another $450. i'm afraid that the problem may have caused other issues. but won't know until after the original problem is fixed. i feel like a couple of the wiring issues that have been recalled already should have included this. and forward should have to reimburse me for my cost since this is obviously a manufacture problem and not normal wear and tear when car is in motion there is a whirring sound i've been told is due to the electrical problem.

When i turned on the car to get back home from the grocery store the screen showed "steering wheel at fault." the steering wheel was very hard to turn and i had to get home so i managed to get the car to the house. the next morning, the same thing happened again and because of this problem i could not take my car to a trip where i had already planned, now i can't drive it to work either, it has been two days and the same problem remains.

While driving my 2013 ford escape (1.6l engine) on an interstate, i was traveling at 80mph on cruise control. suddenly the cruise control was deactivated and i felt a jolt. i then observed a message on the dash which read engine overheating, stop safely. i then observed the engine light to illuminate, the coolant needle go to the red hot level, and i began to loose acceleration. the vehicle was not overheating and was later confirmed at a nearby car repair. once stopped and attempt to restart, loss of steering had begun. mileage during incident was 80,200. after taking it to ford regarding newer recall msgs, they advised the steering rack was not communicating with their diagnostic and must be the reason for the repair. repair has not been completed after reading incidents and complaints regarding similar issues/concerns. i believe this to be another recall issue.

I had to replace all the lug nuts due to swelling, because the design of the original is defective. there was a recall on the pcm and map on jan.7 2016, i purchase this vehicle in april of 2018, the vehicle is still hesitating and wanting stall this happens when in park or coming to a stop. so the problem was not fixed. also, the myford touch screen sometimes will not respond, won't connect a phone or the radio will not work, this happens when first getting in to start the vehicle. this all started shortly after i purchased the vehicle. i took it back to the dealer but they wouldn't fix it.

Recently it died while driving on a busy highway. i was extremely lucky that i could get off the road, and that there was not a major accident. my car turns over, but will not restart. after my mechanic had it for a day, he contacted me stating it has an electrical problem and that he was calling the ford dealership, due to it being faulty and that they should fix it. i then was called back and he confirmed with auburn ford, in auburn, can, that there was a recall that could fix the problem and that the dealer had to do the repairs, why i called ford, i was told there was only 1-recall for the doors. after i told him the mechanic was told there were 2, he changed his story. he then said there were 2-recalls, but neither would fix my car. he then started i would need to pay $ to have them diagnose it.

1. my front bumper came apart 2 weeks after purchase at a place where the metal was welded and then came halfway of all pieces fell off attached to front bumper and no collision took place however when i backed up out of the parking space it caught on the curb and pulled apart even more. 2. since purchase after fill up the engine cranks however will not turn over without applying a little gas. 3. now yesterday i have too turn on ignition twice to start everytime i need to turn on the car. 4. i also had 5 recalls the dealership did not make me aware of fixed ( they only said rear seatbelts had to be replaced) well shortly after i purchased 3 doors wouldn't latch i had to rope my doors shut until i could get into sewel ford. my family has been in so much danger in this vehicle. i am a 40 year old disabled woman with 3 children, my step -dad is blind, my brother is terminally ill and needless to say i need a reliable vehicle in one piece. i have filed a complaint with the attorney general and the dmv responded that an investigation has been set out to determine how much of this is manufacture defect and what part the dealership played by non- disclosure of remaining recalls making me believe they were concerned for our safety by fixing the rear seat belts.

Freeze plug is leaking coolant and engine is stalling while driving coolant started leaking around 11/10/17 and the stalling started occuring 4/27/18 and no recalls have been issued to my vehicle but are having symptoms of the recalls that our present for other escapes

2013 ford escape se bought 3/29/17at the time the 12v dc power outlet, aux port & usb port did not work. 4/22/2018 the vehicle stopped on the pa turnpike immediately after i received a warning 'high engine temperature, please stop vehicle safely'. service appointment for 4/25/18 & was informed that there was a recall on the engine coolant bypass symptoms, issues with the water pump & 2-3 other issues that were all covered under ford recalls &ford wexford would fix it on 4/30/18. 5/4/18 informed that they had not been able to contact ford wexford for an update. i contacted ford wexford & was informed that they did not have a 2013 ford escape to repair. i received a call back informing me that ford wexford was unaware that the suv was at their lot since 4/30/18 & they would not be able to service it until the following week. 5/10/17 i picked up the suv and within 24 hours started having additional problems/signals including the service engine, seatbelt, battery, brakes, hill assist not available, high engine temperature stop safely and the speedometer not functioning. i contacted jd byrider was told there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and that it could possibly be the battery, starter or alternator. i was told to take it to auto zone to have a computer diagnostic. i returned the vehicle 5/17 & was informed that the vehicle would have to go back to ford wexford. i spoke with andy at ford wexford and he informed me that the suv had a wiring issues they weren't able to fix, that the suv would need a new computer system and that this would be 1-2 weeks. i was also told they had a call out to ford co. to discuss their concerns. on 5/31/18 i received a call informing me that the suv needed a new computer system, that it was not covered under my warranty and that the cost would be $1100.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. the contact had to coast to the side of the road to restart the vehicle. the contact stated that the failure recurred numerous times. the dealer (ford of branford, 301 e main st, branford, ct 06405) stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. the manufacturer was contacted and was unable to provide assistance. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 69,000.

1. engine standpipe faulty, which causes the ford escape sel to go into crawl mode and then you have to stop and leaves you stranded. the dashboard engine thermometer reads fully hot. this happened in motion on my way to work during winter in erie pa, the snow headquarters. 2. battery goes dead intermittently and leaves you stranded.

The car hesitates sometimes when pressing the gas, mostly from the stopped position. for instance i've been driving and stop at a stop sign, check for oncoming traffic on the cross street(which does not have a stop sign/signal), when it is safe to proceed i press the gas to cross the intersection and the car slowly rolls out into the intersection and then finally after rolling for a few seconds will pick up and go. this happens while i'm pressing down on the gas pedal all the way. it's very dangerous while trying to cross a street with oncoming traffic. i've tried lifting my foot and pressing back down when the car doesn't move like it's supposed to and it doesn't work. it's only started doing this in the last year or so maybe and it doesn't happen every time, but very scary when it does happen, especially when i have my kids in the car. i've also had it happen when i've been on the freeway and have had to slow down from taking an exit onto another freeway and when trying to get back up to speed and it like it takes it a minute for the car to realize it's supposed to be accelerating.

In reference to recall number 13s12 back in 2013 with 2013 ford escapes low coolant sensor. my ford escape was "fixed" per this recall 6/3/14 by bomritto ford in hazlewood mo. 3 1/2 years later the exsact part used to fixed the original recall has now become faulty and caused my vehcile to go into limp mode. ford is refusing to replace this part and saying it is the customer responsibility for us to replace a part that was faulty originally and 3 1/2 years later faulty again. i have already replaced my vehicles transmission and computer module in the past year and spent over 3 grand in replacement and labor and this is putting me over the edge. this company does not replace their faulty parts even though they stand behind them. how am i supposed to believe these parts were validly replaced and are not made to last. the engine codes that we are getting are caused from the recall kit that was used to replace the faulty product originally. this kit costs 759 to the consumer and that does not include labor. ford refuses to sell the parts to fix the problem and makes the customer purchase the entire kit. this issue needs to be handled properly because innocent customers are being taken advantage of. my vehicle only has 100k miles and i have already replaced the transmission which was 2700! now this, which was a recall 4 years ago. the issue began on 1/16/2018 out of nowhere. no warning, no light i was driving on a busy road and my car went into overheat mode and i was told by the computer screen to stop my vehicle immediately which i did. i then had to have the car towed to a trusted mechanic that was able to diagnose the vehicle directly to the recall from 2013 as the same exact issue these ford's were having in 2013 which is a fire hazard. ford did not handle this properly, i was hung up on multiple times, i was ignored.

I just bought a 2013 ford escape with 1.6.i purchased this on december 31,2017.the suv was doing great until yesterday and it stalled on me in a parking lot but it started right back up and ran fine.got off work heading home stopped got food and got back in started fine.i was at intersection at light and without warning it lost power shutter and then died.it started right back but light had changed as i waited it start losing power again i jumped into turning lane and as i turned it died again.it did this 6 more times and it finally stayed running to get home.i have only had this escape two weeks and now seeing all these problems i just want this corrected cause i almost got hit in the back due to this stalling.ford needs to take care of this

In the summer when i run the a/c we smell burning smell and the dealership that we bought it from told me to just let it catch fire and then they will look at it, and now that i'm running the heater it starts leaking oil. it smells like oil in my garage now. sometimes while pressing on the gas pedal it doesn't go. friday my engine coolant light came on and then went off and then came back on. i'm not sure what's going on but i want a good look at everything.

Was driving on a cold snowy day temp gauge went from c to hot in five seconds then the car check engine light cam on and car limped at about 5 miles hour to side of road engine was cold . checked coolent it was 2 ozs low started up call garage ran codes came up 1299 ford said that normal it's okay to drive took it home every four days had to add coolent took it back. had a part put on the coolent system threw more codes had to have wiring harness put on still leaked coolent ordered hose clamps through ford suppose to be here 1/19/18. now they are saying middle of febury so still with out car.

The vehicle continuously sputters, and then dies while in driving mode - normally pulling out into traffic. we have been almost hit numerous times. in an hour time span, yesterday, it happened 10 times, today in a 15 minute timespan, 3 times. am an uber driver and cannot put their lives in jeopardy - going to get someone killed. this happens in all situations - whether idling in line to pull out into traffic at a light, or while driving. has even happened while traveling down the highway. it starts to sputter, and then just shuts off. sometimes you can place in neutral and restart, but other times, you must coast to side of street, place in park, and then try to restart. there are 100s of incidences on the internet showing the same symptoms. please help resolve this. going to the ford dealership is not the answer - they tell me they cannot "duplicate" the issue and therefor do not know how to "fix" it. in the meantime, this is extremely unsafe, and a lawsuit waiting to happen. this has been occurring the entire month of december - on the 18th - 10 times in a 3 hour timespan - today, the 19th - 3 times in a 15 minute timespan. this is an everyday issue and getting work. this is preventing using this vehicle as an uber driver, and seriously impacting our income. there needs to be a recall. there is a tech service bulletin - tsb-13-12-12; nhtsa-10054363; dtc po106, po236.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. the contact stated that the wiring was installed incorrectly when the vehicle was manufactured. the contact was concerned that the failure could cause a fire or the vehicle to break down. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brain box failed. homer skelton ford of millington (9030 us-54, millington, tn) was notified of the failure. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Tl* the contacts wife owns a 2013 ford escape. on several occasions, while driving, the vehicle idled, stalled, and lost power. the vehicle was taken to joe myers ford (713-766-3600, 16634 northwest fwy, houston, tx 77040) where it was diagnosed that the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer, but it was not diagnosed. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 15v813000 (electrical system). the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there was no recall associated with the vin. the approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

The vehicle will shutdown during operation and lose electrical power. this has occurred 3 times over the last year. the vehicle's ecu will show overheating and engine overheating during operation and shutdown. the dtc have been checked and cleared several times with no answers for the issues.

I was driving down i49, shreveport, la. at approximately 65 mph, high tempature warning came on followed by engine failure warning, as i was making my way to the roadside engine shut down. steam started coming from under the hood, when the vehical came to a stop, i popped the hood, as i got out of the car i noticed a small amount of blue smoke, followed by black smoke, i did not open hood, 30 seconds latter flames were shooting from under the hood, i called 911 as the flames engulfed the front of the car

Greetings, i have a ford escape 2013, 2.5 liters, and i almost crashed because the vehicle suffered an electrical malfunction. in the screen of the car it said: "motor damage, turn off". this almost caused me to loose my life, because the car lost all the energy, stopped in the middle of the highway, and the motor was hesitating. i looked for a recall and i found a ford number 14s17-s1 but that recall is for 2.0 liter and my ford escape 2013 is 2.5 which means that it doesn't have the same electrical wire that is recalled from the 2.0. i went to the dealer to find an answer, but the car does this malfunction intermittently and once you turn it back on the code disappears like if nothing would have happened. i took the paper of the recall to the dealer and they said that they cant do anything because the code disappeared and my car doesn't have the same system of the 2.0 liter.

While driving i will get hill assist and 4wd warnings while on flat ground my instrument panel looses power my heater turns off and door locks click some times its just the warning lights this has happened on the interstate going 65mph and rural areas going slow have had three occasions where the dash lights come on but car would not try to start until several tries this started oct 2017 63000 miles on car

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. the contact stated that there was an internal leak within the coolant system which was going into the area of the engine assembly. the vehicle had been taken to several dealers who had been unable to provide a permanent remedy and more recently crossroads ford lincoln of southern pines (1590 us-1, southern pines, nc 28387, 1-(910) 692-8765) was notified to determine if they may be able to check with the manufacturer to determine a solution to prevent the failure. the vehicle was not repaired yet. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was not available. *tt*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. the vehicle was restarted and was pulled over to the side of the road. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to the dealer (midland ford, 500 joe mann blvd, midlan, mi 48642, 989-631-0040) where it was diagnosed that the wiring to the sensor needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 45,000. *ln *tr

My car has ran a 100% since the day i bought it. i went to go move my car after i cut my grass and instantly my power steering sensor went off as soon as i started my car stating that it required service due to it not working. just like that. no earlier warnings, no malfunctions prior to this incident, nothing. i am a mother of 4 daughters and thankfully i was just trying to reposition my vehicle in my yard vs. driving down the road or else it could have caused severe bodily harm to us or even worse, it could have caused a major accident that could have resulted in death. i called the ford dealership and they stated even with so many complaints on this particular model, make, and year having this exact problem, this is not a recall yet. i researched it myself and found out that the 2013 ford fusion also has this problem, but there is currently an active recall for the fusion, but not the escape. i am confused on this. are they waiting on a death toll to rise due to ford's malfunctioning part and a lawsuit before they decide that this is a real serious issue or is it because of the lack of concern for fords customers and families they had when they decided to use this poorly planned electrical design that is continuously malfunctioning? or maybe its because they know that this is a big issue and charging customers over $1700.00 to fix this poorly planned product that is going to cost someone their lives was going to make their service department revenue sky rise with this power steering problem being high in demand. i don't understand why one model of ford with the same year is on recall for this, but the other model with the exact same set up and year is not. i am a single mother of 4 daughters that is still paying on this $19,000.00 vehicle that is now parked in my yard because it is too expensive to fix. thanks ford!!!

Our 2013 ford escape sel has been stalling out while driving. our vin was not included in the previous recall but the symptoms ate exactly as described in 2.0 liter recall. this event happens every couple days sometimes twice a day. it tends to happen shortly after starting and merging/turning from a stop/intersection. we've taken it to a ford dealer but they weren't able to fix it. seems like a big safety issue to stall while driving.

Started vehicle and the wipers came on automatically and would not shut off (despite the wipers being in the off position). the car was stationary. turned car off. immediately turned car back on and the wipers would not work at all. wipers will not work when raining and go from constantly working to not working at all for no reason. very dangerous if it is raining, snowing, or any precipitation in the sky.

In 7/2017 we had alert lights of engine default, hill assist go on. it had a replacement part abs that didn't correct problem. next time on my way to the dealer lots of lightw went on and i went into safe mode a few hundred feet from dealer, five minutes earlier and i would have been on the freeway. a diff part was replaced. same problem then next time it went into safe mode and i had it towed. this vehicle and year apparently had electrical/electronic issues. i feel this is an unsafe situation! i took from 7/26/2017 to 10/18/2017 to get things corrected and i don't know if they are

Takata recall: engine light on message engine failure!!! kit-term ab part # 3u2z.14a088 part $17.40 wire $1.74 labor $558.00 total at ford dealership $577.14 + $99 to run the test! there are a lot of complaints on this problem and needs to be a recall. ford needs to deal with this issue. it's a faulty part. i took it in right away as you should with any engine light. the light came on when i started it one day and only drove it to dealership.

2013 ford escape se 1.6 l 4cyl i hope there is an investigation that is on going. my ford is over heating and sometimes it wont start because of a software fix that was supposed to fix the problem. turns out it delays the inevitable. my car is now at the ford dealer for the second time. to make things worse, i woke up one day and my power steering didnt work. i go to work with no power steering and when i start it again it works, very weird. all in all, i do not think ford did enough. the coolant system or the engine needs to be replaced.

I was driving my 2013 ford escape at night and my instrument cluster information display with system warnings and odometer display started blinking colors, then black and white, and on and off. it has gone black several times and then it seem to work fine for a short time, and then it will all of a sudden start again. this happens on streets, highways, day and night. this started 3 weeks ago. my odometer is around 50,000. i checked on line for recalls and have read several other 2013 owners finding the same thing that i did, there is a recall for this on the 2014 models (recall (15c03 - reprogram instrument panel cluster) issued against 2014 ford escape for the same issue) but does not include the 2013 models. please help.

I bought a used 2013 ford escape from dealership on 3/9/17. car had 1 previous owner and 29265 miles on it. by 4/20/17 the car would not start while stationary with no indication of anything being wrong. i had the dealership look at it immediately when this happened after getting it towed by aaa whom also tested the starter and battery everything was reading normal . the car started on its own. and the dalership coukd find tge problem and told me to bring it back if this happened again. a week later it happened again while the car was stationary at cvs after being driven for 10 minutes i called the dealership and aaa, after waiting 45 minutes for aaa to arrive i try starting the car several times with no avail until i see aaa pulling into the cvs parking lot i tested turned the key 1 more time and the car started. the aaa tech checked the starter and battery again everthing read normal. i drove to the dealership and left with the same outcome of them not knowing what is wrong. this problem continued until my warranty ran out and the dealership said they could not help me anymore because the car is still driveable. i tried exercising the lemon law by reporting the dealership to office of consumer affairs and business regulation and was told they can only mediate and not much coukd be done because my warranty was over. here we are 8/12/2018 and the car still has problems and will start after waiting anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours also it,constantly leaks atifreeze and has to be refilled every few weeks during the summer months the car will say " high temperature coolant low" out of the blue without any indication from the temperature gauge. i dont know what to do and dont have the time or money to deal with this.

My vehicle is telling me my coolant is low but it is not its also telling me im due for an oil change and has been coming off and on for the past 10 months ive had it serviced numberous(8) times had my coolant flushed and sensors checked. had it serviced at the place i bought it and at airport ford. even had my motor replaced 5 months ago. this issue is keeping me from driving my vehicle because once its (hot) it will shut the vehicle down..i can get in it start it after not driving it for hrs and pull out of my driveway and it says its over-heating. and will say stop safely. and the vehicle will shut down. ive been stranded 3 times from this happening. i check the coolant and its not low or over full. i really hope nothing happens while im driving or when i have my 3 yr old daughter in the car with me. thank god its only been on my way home from work.the place were i bought the vehicle has my paperwork for the replacement of the motor. and the cost.

The engine will randomly stall and turn off displaying the red oil lamp and red battery light. this happens when the car is cold and has just turned on, and started to move.

This car showed a problem around march 2017 when it randomly stalled and did while in park at a parking lot. after that it would run fine for months at a time and then i would have the same problem of it stalling out and dying while parked or when the car was in park. i have replaced the battery 2 times in the last 2 years and something keeps frying my battery. the problem has escalated in the last 6 months to the point where the car now just dies while driving without any real warning and is unsafe to drive. i tried taking it to a ford dealership and they could not figure it out and had a hard time recreating what i had described was happening. they told me to replace the fuel pressure sensor, but it had already been replaced 2 weeks prior to it going to that dealership. they basically told me to throw money blindly at the engine to the tune of 3k to 4k or trade it in on something else. those were the options given to me by ford. the problems did not really start until after 80k miles and the car is worse once it has been running for a little while, gets worse when you run the heater and game over if the ac or defrost are on. my mpg are horrible but i dont even know for sure because i will look at the gas gauge turn the car off and when i come back from letting it sit the amount of fuel showing has gone back up considerably. also my mils to empty randomly went from the gas light turning on at 30 miles to empty to 50 miles to empty. my car acts like it has a traumatic brain injury and one moment it seems ok and the next is all over the place. we cant even drive it anymore because it is too dangerous and unpredictable.
