Engine suddenly stalls while driving. yellow wrench light comes on and there is no power when applying accelerator. has happened while on highway (approx 70 mph) and surface streets (approx 30 mph). pull over to the side of the road and turn off the engine. the restart was sputtery but came on and no more wrench light, the vehicle ran as if nothing happened. after taking it to a dealership was told problem could not be duplicated and no fix could be made.
The door sensors in this vehicle do not sense that the door is closed when it is. this leads to being unable to lock the doors while driving, it also causes the interior lights to remain on when the car is off even after the door is closed and the car is locked which drains the battery. occasionally, the door will sense that it is closed after slamming it. this has led to an arm injury that i sustained when attempting to do this repeatedly from the inside of the vehicle. this is an ongoing issue and not a one-time occurrence.
While driving on the highway (doing 70 mph) my vehicle randomly stalled out. i was forced to coast to a stop, pull over, and turn my car off and turn it back on to begin driving again. it later happened an hour later at a stop light while making a left hand turn and then again at the next light on the road. after looking up possible problems, it was found that countless others with the same vehicle have the same stalling problem while driving. this creates a serious and dangerous risk for drivers on the road. i have an appointment to have the ford dealership look at my vehicle, however from others who have spoken on their experiences with the same problem, the dealership states that they cannot "recreate the problem". thus sending the customer on their way stating that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. just 1 of the many forums where others voice the same problem. http://www.carproblemzoo.com/ford/edge/car-stall-problems.php this vehicle must be recalled before a serious accident or death occurs due to ford's negligence.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. the contact stated that the wrench warning indicator flashed and the vehicle had a sudden loss of power. the vehicle had to be turned off and restarted to reset the code. the check engine warning indicator also illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the manufacturer issued a technical service bulletin, but there was no recall to provide a solution. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Engine control module-pcm. after 3 years of replacing/repairing items on my car, they now say that the pcm is the cause. i have replaced multiple sensors, catalytic converter, drive shaft, turbo, cooling system, and the list goes on. had the pcm been diagnosed the first time my check engine light came on and replaced the sensor, i could of saved a lot of time. every time i would go in, the diagnostic test would show 02 sensor which was replaced numerous times, then they would say catalytic converter, so on so on going down the list. i would get stranded on the highway because the car would completely shut down. not one person in the past 3 years said the pcm was to blame. after a week of trying to diagnosis my car after once again being stranded on the highway, they are saying the pcm. the mechanic states that the computer module is on back order with ford. the ford rep states that they are selling them faster than they can be made. if this part is on back order (2 weeks) and can't keep them in stock, there seems to be an issue with the pcm for fords. everything that i have read states it is very hard to diagnosis a pcm but there needs to be a code that appears when it is faulty because this could of been covered under warranty 3 years ago but instead, i have paid a lot of out of pocket to get to this point of replacing the pcm. pcm in high demand with ford indicates a red flag for this part and issue. please review.
Twice now within two days, my wife or i have been driving along at 20-30 mph through the neighborhood and the vehicle has lost propulsion. i say this because the motor stays running, but doesn't accept input from the gas petal. service wrench comes on, but vehicle diagnostics come back ok. turn vehicle off, cranks up and drives fine. the interwebs says its a throttle body issue.
Engine surged while parking, felt like it would hit car parked in front. reminded me of my lincoln town car 2007 that would suddenly accelerate
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving approximately 25 mph and making a right turn, the vehicle stalled without warning. the driver was able to coast into a parking lot and turned off the engine. the driver was able to restart the vehicle and resume driving. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Control panel states doors ajar and lights won't turn off or doors won't lock. dome light stays on and creates dangerous conditions at night when trying to back out or while driving. lights will also come back on when stopped at stop light and won't go back off until a certain rate of speed has been met due to the system thinking the door is ajar when it's not. doors will also not lock when car is off and dome light stays on draining battery till the battery is dead sitting in parked position. it is also climate sensitive and is worse on cold or humid days. both the driver and the drivers passenger door is affected and creates extremely dangers driving conditions. this has been going on for at least 6 months and continues to get worse.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. whenever the heater or air conditioner were being used, the vehicle would emit strong fuel odors and caused the occupants to feel light headed, have headaches, and stomach issues. the dealer refused to diagnose the vehicle because the engine warning indicator was not illuminated. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 59,000.
2013 ford edge fuel system, gasoline. a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire. leaving the residence. once passed the control of the security agent of the residence. i accelerate the vehicle normally and then hear a rather deafening noise. i stop the vehicle immediately and process to exit the vehicle quickly as i feel the body warm. once i get out of the vehicle and run to a safe place about 40 feet away, i throw myself on the ground and look at the vehicle and see that the vehicle is burning. i can see that the fire is consuming the vehicle and can observe fire inside the vehicle coming out of the windows and fire through the bottom of the vehicle that goes from the front of the engine down the side. and the fire runs to the gas tank.
Engine became totally disabled at 50 mph on a rural county highway.struggled to steer vehicle to shoulder of road because of lost power.fortunately we were on a straight section of road.i can only think that in so many other driving situations this problem could have put us in a life threatening position.ford really needs to find the problem and fix it! *tr
Car will stall and go into limp mode, yellow wrench appears on left hand display. this has happened twice within the last 3 months, once in the middle lane of a rush hour freeway travelling at 40mph. i was lucky to get across to the shoulder before i lost all momentum. no response when pushing the accelerator, engine shakes badly. have to restart the car in order to continue travel. all research points to faulty electronic throttle body. ford service center advisers agree but refuse to perform repair under warranty as there are no codes. the codes get wiped after restarting the engine.
When you are stopped and 'shift to park' and push the button to turn off the vehicle, it dings keeps telling me to 'shift to park'. you need to continue turning off and on and moving the gear shifter between park and drive to finally get it to turn off. i see online that this has been an ongoing problem with some awd vehicle from ford. *tr
There is a sudden loss of power while driving, the engine idles roughly, and the accelerator stops working - this is all while in the process of driving the car. there were complaints filed back in 2013 and a lawsuit related to other ford vehicles regarding this issue (defective electronic throttle control). this model and year, however, is not part of the group ford agreed to fix and there was never a formal recall. this puts drivers in a dangerous situation...losing power while driving.
While driving on a city street, the vehicle went into a limp-type mode. the engine was still running but i could not accelerate. the problem was a faulty electronic throttle body which i have come to find out is a very widespread problem in ford vehicles and that ford is aware of this problem but has refused to issue a recall. this is a very dangerous issue and ford is putting its customers at risk for accidents.
Was driving approx. 45 mph coming thru a 5 corners major intersection at peak traffic time of 5:15pm. driving on state farm to market road in town of 100k residents. had been driving approx. 3 miles. temp in 80's, roads dry. complete loss of power, nearly rear ended. car crept a little, moved to middle turn lane, strong forward lurch/jerk, yellow wrench light on. put car in park, turned it off. tried to start, nothing. sat about a minute, tried, started. limped to parking lot. turned vehicle off, sat for about 20 minutes. then took route home going thru subdivisions where stall would not jeapordize life. could not drive to dealer as that would involve highway, and risk of fatal accident. i was very fortunate today, have never been that scared driving a vehicle in 40 yrs of driving.
I have a 2013 ford edge and have been told the turbo charger failed, and no part is available for 3 months. the car has been serviced many times prior to 60,000 miles but now suddenly i am being told the part just failed. my complaint is a major engine part failing at under 60,000 miles and no part available for 3 months.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while operating the vehicle at slow speeds, the engine suddenly shut off. also, while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would not immediately stop. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and throttle system were faulty. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 58,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a new throttle body. the vehicle was taken to be repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 52,400.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving various speeds and attempting to accelerate quickly, the vehicle stalled. the service engine soon warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the failure was unable to be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 33,000.
Vehicle was driving straight at approximately 50 mph. yellow wrench icon came on, and engine power was lost. coasted out of traffic and into parking lot. turned car off and back on, and vehicle ran normally with no error lights. turned car off and back on and drove approximately 15 miles with no recurrence. due to the safety concerns of having the engine stall again at highway speeds or with children in the car, took car to dealership. dealership stated no error codes were stored, and recommends replacing throttle body for $700+ based on their history with similar situations.
While traveling at highway speeds vehicle suddenly loss power to transmission and engine and ended up going 1 mph. could not accelerate and barely missed being struck by other vehicles. "wrench" warning indicator came on and i pulled my auto over to side of roadway. turned the ignition off, waited 1 minute and restarted and the auto was normal again. day later pulling out into traffic same episode again just barley avoiding a collision again. dealership advises faulty electric throttle body defective. this is a major safety issue and needs to be resolved immediately before this results in a fatality. i had two separate incidents that could have resulted in a fatality. when the vehicle goes limp you are powerless to do anything if your lucky to get to the side of the road without getting hit from the rear or t-boned.
I have two major problems and safety issues with this car. first is the power booster, which is covered under extended warranty. symptoms of booster issue are spongy brakes that then went hard with little resistance accompanied by hissing sound coming from brakes. the second issue is a defective throttle body. three times in as many days when food is on brake, the brake pushes back essentially having lost power brakes and requiring both feet firmly pressed on brake to even remotely slow car down, unable to completely stop vehicle, at the same time i lose power steering and cannot control direction of car, the warning light "low oil pressure" illuminates on the dash. this does not send car into so called "limp home" mode it renders the car essentially inoperable. if i turn the car off and then back on again it returns to normal driving function....until it happens again. i've been lucky that this happened backing out of my driveway and in straight lane stop and go traffic on city streets. had this happened when i was driving along a curvy mountain road, along the coast or on a los angeles freeway moving 65 mph..i doubt i would have been so lucky. i cannot believe the throttle issue in the edge is not covered under the extended warranty given to other ford model cars or even more that this isn't a sweeping safety recall. i am risking life and limb of myself and my two young children driving this car. this is my first ford and will probably be my last. ford should be ashamed of themselves.
Vehicle lost power and would not accelerate when gas pedal was pressed but it never shut down. vehicle stalled but the air conditioning, radio, windows etc continued to work. vehicle's engine stayed on and continued to sputter and the "yellow wrench" engine warning light came on. the vehicle was in a straight forward motion, moving less than 35 mph, in use for less than 5 minutes, the weather was hot and the roadway was dry. the vehicle eventually stopped in the middle of the roadway partially in the intersection. after some research, apparently there are others who have had a similar experience resulting in the replacement of the throttle body assembly.
Going up a hill, stalls out "low oil pressure" indicator came on. also the door security beeps when the passenger door opens first.
When i accelerate to highway speed i get an exhaust smell inside the passenger compartment. i have been to my dealer 4 times and the problem continues. i believe that this is a health issue. i am uploading my service records for your perusal. this began in may 2016 and continues to the present (12/2017).
While driving i lost all acceleration. the engine was still running but my car would not move. i went from 50mph to nothing while going up an overpass. the same thing happened with my ford fusion and it was the electronic throttle body. in both cases the only thing that kept me from causing or being involved in very bad accidents was the grace of god! i just called ford and they had no throttle bodies in stock because ford had placed a hold on ordering them! now isn't that interesting!! i was also told that the manufacturer had promised 2,000 to be shipped out this week. that seems obvious to me that ford knows there is a problem. it seems that this problem has been looked at for years....why isn't someone doing more than slapping ford's hand?
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving 25 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. the brake pedal was difficult to apply and made a lot of noise. when the vehicle stopped ,the engine turned off and the "engine lost power" warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 58,520.
27500 mileage stationary and in motion interior light will not go out, driver door light ajar when stationary and in motion, interior lights come on when vehicle is in no motion and keys are taken out ignition , engine light on when stationary and in motion
On several occasions, in different driving conditions, and at different speeds, the car lost complete engine power. it totally shut off. the yellow awd off and wrench indicator light comes on and all engine power is totally lost. this is obviously very scary and dangerous when it ocurrs in traffic and at high speed on a freeway. after turning off the engine and completely resarting the car, everything works fine again until some random moment when it happens again with total power loss. i took the car to the ford dealer the first time it happened and they ran diagnostic test and could not replicate the problem. they suggested that maybe it was some bad gasoline. we requested them to drain the tank completely. several months later, after experiencing no problems, the same problems began to ocurr more and more frequently. after researching this issue on the internet i became aware of other ford drivers that have experienced the same loss of power while driving issue and it seemed to me that the common probelm was the throttle body assembly. i decided to go ahead and pay to have that completely replaced. it's only been a week since i replaced that part, so far, no problems, but it's too early to say for sure if it is resolved. i believe that ford should have notified drivers of this issue and recalled the vehicles and replaced the part free of charge, before someone gets seriously injured or killed.
While driving at speed, vehicle started to sputter and lost power, lost all function and had to pull over on the side of the road. engine sputtered badly, with the wrench light on. turned the vehicle off and back on and ran smoothly again. it has happened a few times.
I was driving to walmart when the vehicle suddenly dropped from 45mph to less than 3mph and no matter what input was given to the gas pedal the vehicle would not react. the tack was under 900 and on the left side of the dash a warning came up looking like a wrench. once i pulled over tried to do a vehicle report and the vehicle was unable to do a maintenance check. shut off engine and restarted the vehicle; no problems restarting the vehicle and no memories of why the engine did what it did (called "limp home status"). there is also no memory within the pcm about the vehicle going into this mode or why.this could be very dangerous if i was on a high way. a quick google search reveals hundreds of complaints of this happening; all with same resolution. the vehicle has no idea why it went into limp home and no memory of that status after restart.
Driving ford edge 2013 approx. 40 mph on highway when the vehicle came to almost a dead stop. it seemed as if the brakes became fully engaged or the transmission seized. a truck behind us swerved and braked and almost crashed into us. my 2 children and i would have been killed. the vehicle shook violently as it moved about 2 mph. i barely was able to get it over to the right, off the highway. it would not go any further. a red wrench icon lit on the dash. i towed it to midway ford. service manager stated the throttle body part is defective and recalled, but resets itself if vehicle is turned off for a while, so if i did not turn off the vehicle, ford would fix it for free. since i turned off the vehicle and it reset, i had to pay him $900 to replace it. since i did not have $900, he advised me to drive the vehicle very slowly on the right side of the road from now on, as a precaution so my children or i do not get injured or killed the next time it happens. if this is ford's criteria for replacing this life threatening defective part, that it must be in active defect status when arriving at the dealer, then not only has ford has found a way to beat paying for the 1.6 million vehicles they agreed to recall with this defect, since you can't drive the vehicle at 900 rpm to the dealer, or tow it while running, but ford is getting rich off the recall (the part is about $185 and takes 15 minutes to replace), and 1.6 million people must pay ford $900 to fix a recalled defective part.
I purchased a 2013 ford edge in april 2013, driving for two years with no problems. on september 8, 2015 driving at a speed of 65 mph the wrench symbol appeared on the dash board, a second later, the vehicle decreased from 65 mph to 0 mph, sitting on the interstate with heavy traffic in the middle lane for about five minutes with vehicle still running very low, i was able to coast to the side of the interstate and turn the vehicle off for about 2 minutes. after restarting the vehicle i was able to take it to the nearest ford dealership for service, was asked to leave the vehicle there. as of september 12th the vehicle is still at the dealership, waiting to see what the problem is. this situation is a safety concern for me and others who may have the same problem. thank god i did not get rear ended on the interstate or cause an accident. thank you *tr
On august 8th, 2015 at about 4:45 pm, i was making a right hand turn and my vehicle stopped and lost all power. message i received was "no oil to engine". i tried to start my 2013 edge but had no luck. i called road assistance for a tow truck and the vehicle went to the mankato ford dealership. i got the vehicle back on august 11th and was told that the vehicle checked out and no problems were found. there is something wrong with the vehicle and i do wish ford would do a recall of the edge and escapes. it's only a matter of time and a vehicle will stop and get hit by a semi and someone will be killed as a result.
Experienced a loss of engine power, the wrench icon illuminated, no throttle response, engine was running, air conditioning and power steering remained active. turned onto a side road and coasted to a stop. once stopped, shifted to park, tried to rev the engine, no response. shifted to park. turned the ignition off, restarted, drove normally for the rest of the day.... very dangerous if this happens in traffic....updated 09/22/15 *bf
While coming off an on ramp from one highway to another doing approximately 60 mph my 2013 ford edge jerked, a wrench popped up on my dash, and it lost power. the accelerator did not work but the car was still idling. luckily i was in the far left lane and there was an emergency lane on the left so i was able to coast to a stop. when i put my car in park, turned it off and turned it back on it was like nothing was wrong. the accelerator worked and the wrench was gone. however, this have since happened to be two more times and lower speeds. both times luckily no one was behind me and when i turned the car back on everything worked. i have seen many other drivers who have had this same issue. it appears to be an issue with the throttle body. there should be a recall. this is extremely dangerous!
7/20/15-while traveling in uptown charlotte, nc, my car completely shut off causing me to engage my hazard lights and coast in neutral (in a very high traffic area) to a no parking zone. no diagnostic code appeared but the wrench icon appeared. i ran an onboard system diagnostics and it was clear. car restarted when put in neutral and i then drove it the rest of the day. 7/21/15- approximately 110+ miles since the prior days problem, the car ran fine until the evening when i was driving 45 mph and climbing a grade around a curve and the car jerked and shut off showing the wrench icon again. there was no shoulder to coast onto and turned on the hazard lights, and prayed no one was behind me causing a collision. after 3 attempts the car restarted in the park position just as a van swerved to miss me in the no passing zone where the car failed. it was after hours for the dealership service department and the car is a certified pre owned vehicle with additional warranty. i filled out the description of the problem and left the car with them until 7/28/15 and authorized allowing a mechanic to drive it home if needed as no diagnostic code was generated. no repairs were made and the car was then drove less than 40 miles when it stopped running again 7/29/15 without warning the third time. ford corporate has refused to make repairs without a code and the dealership did as well, however, since having a frustrating conversation 7/29/15 with ford, the dealership told my husband that they will replace the throttle body as i requested last week as this has resolved the issue for other consumers.. this is a problem that is noted many times by other consumers. please have ford stand behind the safety of their vehicle before people lose their lives. this gives no warning and can happen anywhere at anytime and ford's stance is dangerous. thank you! updated 9/21/15 *ln...updated 10/01/15*bf updated 12/13/2017*cn
I was on the freeway and the vehicle shut off, i was in the middle lane with cars flying by. i put hazards on and slowly moved to the right side and completely shut off the car. i was very scared being stuck on the florida turnpike with vehicles going past me at 70 miles an hour and i could have been in a deadly accident. i was able to turn the car back on and was able to drive and get off the freeway and slowly drive to the dealership at 30 miles an hour. the dffective part the dealer said was the throttle body, which is a part that was recalled on the ford escape 2009-2013 and on the 2009 - 2013 ford fusion 2009-2013 mercury mariner 2009 -2013 mercury milan. my car is ford edge 2013 , the throttle body part is an obvious extensive issue with ford.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving at 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the electronic control module indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 43,000.
This incident has happened 4 times in the past month and a half. my car completely shuts off and i have no control over the steering or speed. when i restart my car, it turns on. there haven't been any check engine lights or other notifications until today when it happened for the fourth time and the low oil pressure indicator came on and in the indicator box a wrench is now displayed. the first incident i was pulling out of a parking lot into traffic when it happened. the second incident i was pulling into a parking lot. the third incident i was sitting at a red light attempting to accelerate and the car just shut down and this final incident i was driving approximately 5 mph and in traffic, the car just shut down. in all instances the car started back up but if this had happened in any instance that i was going faster or crossing an intersection, i fear i would be killed or injured. i have seen that there are other owners having the same complaint and i just fear that someone will die from this.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle's rpms decreased and the wrench warning indicator displayed with the message "check owners manual for more information". the contact turned off the vehicle and restarted it. the warning indicators no longer illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was unable to be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 71,340. updated 8/21/15*cn
This is now the second time i've lost all power while driving. the car completely shuts down, steering becomes uncontrollable and the oil pressure light comes on. car is at the dealership as i type and i'm being told the car has no codes of what happened. i'm not sure how a computer doesn't register a low oil pressure light or how it's not hard coded somewhere in the computer system that the car just cut out at 5mph. the first time i was okay as no one was in from of me. this time i almost wiped out 2 cars in a parking structure while on a down hill ramp. *tr
Vehicle is stalling at red light and on the freeway and the check engine light came on. the vehicle diagnostics systems suggests the throttle body is not working properly. several people have the same issue but ford refuses to issue a recall. *tr
While driving my 2013 ford edge lost all power in a turn. the engine shut down, the low oil light came on and i had a hard time steering the car due to the lost of power and the car still in drive. fortunately no one was behind me or in front of me at the time. upon reading several forums on this problem i find that i'm not the only one who has experienced this problem as it appears this problem has been happening for years. what does it take to get a recall on this problem, a fatal accident? i'll be taking my car to the dealer since i drive in traffic every day and i can't afford this to happen in that condition, but it sounds like the dealer won't do anything about the problem as per previous posts indicate such. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving 60 mph, the contact heard the vehicle run over something that left debris in the roadway. the contact stated that the failure occurred previously. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine shield cover dislodged from the vehicle and would need to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage and vin were unknown.
This is a 2013 ford edge limited w/v6 engine. while driving, there is a sudden loss of engine power, the engine goes to a rough idle, all the warning lights come on and there is no throttle response. after shutting everything down, the engine will finally restart after several attempts and run normally. this has happened multiple times, the last time while driving on the interstate. the vehicle has been into the dealership 6 times for repair. so far, the throttle body was replaced, a sensor was replaced, the accelerator pedal was replaced and some wiring was replaced. the last time the problem occurred, the vehicle was returned to me after the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. i subsequently returned the vehicle to the dealership because as far as i am concerned, it is totally unsafe to drive. i then contacted the ford customer relationship center and was assigned a case number. the ford regional service manager assigned to the case finally told me that because the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem there was nothing further they could do and i should come and pick up the vehicle.
There were two incidents involving loss of engine power while accelerating in traffic. i do not have the date of the first occurrence, but it was approximately one month before the second occurrence. both times, as i was accelerating from a stop light, the engine was still running, but had no power and i drifted to a stop. the warning message light was a picture of a wrench. the first occurrence was on a two-lane road with deep ditches on both sides, and there was no other place to stop but in the middle of the road. fortunately, cars behind me stopped in time. the second time, i was accelerating up a hill on a four-lane road with middle turn lane. i was able to drift to the turn lane and stop there. when i restarted the car both times, power was restored. the first time this happened, we took the car to a repair shop the following day. there were no codes, but from the warning light, they thought it was the throttle body. on the second occurrence, my husband and i immediately drove to an auto parts store. they were able to read a code and it was trouble code p2111, throttle actuator "a" control system - stuck open. the ford dealer indicated there were no recalls on this problem and they were not aware of any issues. both times, it was a frightening and dangerous situation that could have involved injuries, if the car(s) following rear-ended the vehicle. *tr
Submission from constituent re 2013 ford edge engine stall. *smd the consumer stated the steering wheel locked, the vehicle shook, and the check engine light illuminated, all within seconds of the vehicle stalling. the dealer was unable to find a problem. *jb
