Takata recall i have attempted to get my airbag replaced and the dealership states that they cannot work on the vehicle because it has aftermarket wiring. the wiring is not attached to the airbag and should have no impact on the ability of a replacement airbag working. the current fix they desire is for me to find a shop of some kind that removes head units and have them remove at my cost, and then have the airbag installed and then have the head unit re-installed at my cost. i purchased the vehicle as is a little over a year ago. i just want my truck to be safe for my family to be in. my current case number with dodge customer service is 34528836. please help me get this fixed.
Takata recall my vehicle has been recalled twice over this issue, each time the repair has been completed. the current problem with my vehicle relates to the air bag module. my air bag warning light came on about a month ago at which time i took it to my local dodge dealership thinking the airbags had gone bad again. i was advised the airbags were fine but the control module had failed. then i was told that chrysler dodge no longer makes the replacement module and they would have to seek one from a salvage company they do business with. my question is simple, how can a manufacture decide to stop making a crucial component to the air bag system. i was advised that in the event of a crash the air bags would not inflate. it has been over a month now and the dealership still hasn't located a module but are continuing to search for one. i have a low milage 2003 ram 3500 heavy duty truck sitting in my driveway that is totally worthless. what can i do?
Takata recall. the dealership wants me to sign a waiver if they break my dash, that i am responsible. i called dodge recall, anf d they say the same thing. why should i have to pay for their mistakes or poor workmanship? they are trying to discourage people from getting the necessary repairs none to preserve corporate profits. i bought this truck new.
Takata recalls driver and passenger airbags. they were both activated by the truck being backed into while sitting still thus knocking out the rear glass with no injuries to driver or passenger.
