This is the 3rd time the car has left me stranded. the ignition will not turn over. the battery is fine, the tank is full. i received a recall for the ignition fob but was told by the dealer that the part is not in. its been more than 6 months. i'd like to know what my right are. isn't the manufacturer obligated to fix the known/admitted problem? *tr
In oct., 2014 i received a recall notice l25/nhtsa 14v-373. i have called my dealer and chrysler's vehicle safety hotline twice, and again today. both report that "the problem is in the ignition switch, but that "the repair parts are not available, nor do they have an eta for their arrival". last evening my car's engine shut off while i was driving at about 40 mph. i restarted and it stopped again. i had plenty of gas and the car has run normally since. however, the car behind me almost didn't stop in time. how can this vehicle be safe to drive? what if i had been going 65 mph on the interstate? i was employed for many years in the manufacturing industry and never heard of placing , or receiving an order without obtaining a delivery commitment. what is going on here? *tr

Vehicle randomly will not start. everything (lights, air, radio) works except it will not start, makes a clicking noise but will not turn over. we have paid dodge over 300 dollars to have this issue fixed but it keeps reoccuring. first time we had to have it towed they said it was a software issue and bad battery. we paid for that and not even a week later i was stranded out of town at night with my children. dodge had it towed thr next morning and could not identify the issue. we have since had to have it towed 2 other times back to dodge and they have fixed the starter and on the last occasion they said nothing was wrong. once we had the battery jumped to get it started and it is a brand new battery, however that doesnt always work. we are still dealing with this issue. we received a recall notice in the mail for bad ignition and key issues in may and we still have not been able to get it fixed. we were told by dodge that we would be put on a waiting list for parts and it could be months as there are a lot of people who are having thr same issues and not enough parts are available. please look into this issue. no, i didn't crash but it is a safety issue when you are stranded far away from home and noone can help you. it is expensive when i end up having to pay 100's of dollars i'm towing. if you google the issue there are multiple complaints of the same issue and dodge keeps saying to everyone that they can not identify the issue.
I was driving approximately 10-15 mph when my car suddenly shut-off and would not restart. it has a recall for the win module but the dealer does not have the parts to fix it. it is currently at the dealer being looked at. this car has been nothing but trouble from the beginning. i have been thru more sets of brake pads and rotors than i ever thought possible. not to mention all the times it was towed to dealer because it would not start and was told every time that nothing was wrong with it. it is a know problem which they will not fix. i have also have numerous electrical issues inside the car. these cars are worthless. *tr

On four separate occasions, i attempted to start my vehicle (all lights, radio work) and only hear clicks of the starter and the vehicle did not start. on the second occasion, the vehicle finally started after approximately thirty minutes. i took the journey to an auto center and they tested the battery, which was registering at 490 cca and they suggested i get a battery soon. on the third occasion, i went to pick my wife up from a doctors appointment and stopped the journey for less than five minutes. i attempted to start the journey and it did not start for over 30 minutes. i attempted to have the vehicle jump started; however, after three separate vehicles attempted to jump my journey, it did not start and had to call a tow truck. after the tow truck driver charged the battery for approximately 5 minutes, the vehicle started. i immediately had the battery replaced and thought the issues was solved. on the fourth occasion, all four of which took place in a three week period, after stopping at a store for approximately 10 minutes, the journey did not start. after waiting for approximately 30 minutes, the vehicle finally started. i have reviewed the recalls and this is not listed, yet there are multiple complaints of this issue. i will be attempting to have all current recalls repaired and hope this issue is take care of before myself or someone in my family is seriously injured due to this happening while driving on the highway. *tr

After starting up the vehicle, the radio and information display will not function at all. when the vehicle is then shut off the battery will drain rather quickly( within 8 hours) and kill the battery. if the battery is disconnected and then reconnected the radio and display will then work. this happens frequently depending on how many time the vehicle is started and stopped.my mechanic has traced it to the tipm ,totally integrated power module. *tr

Last date of incident was on october 16, 2014, this is the 4th time my vehicle has shut off while driving it. the first time it happened i contacted dodge whom stated there was no recall in re: ignition problems, interestingly enough a recall was posted within weeks, since that recall i have been contacted via mail stating parts have been ordered with no known delivery date for repairs. the last incident happened while i was driving too work exiting off the expressway during rush hour traffic on the ramp with vehicles behind me and my car just shut off again. when i contact dodge i am told there is nothing they can do i have to wait for parts and risk my life in the process due to they will not issue a rental car for this. per my conversation with dodge i want this well documented being i am driving a vehicle with major safety issues when it appears to randomly shut off the engine while driving, i have done everything stated in the recall letter so i may limit my risk, i have taken all keys off my key ring, i make sure key is well engaged when starting my car. unfortunately in my case this is not a help at all being i still am having episodes of my car stalling out in traffic. *tr
Dodge has a recall (dodge recall: safety recall k07 / nhtsa recall: 10v658000) concerning the wiring harness in the front door, which may break and could cause the airbag light to turn on as the sensor would not be connected. my dodge journey has this issue with the wiring harness, but dodge will not fix it as my 2009 journey is not listed under that recall for some reason.
