I initially bought the 2011 dodge durango from gillman nissan of rosenberg tx. three months after buying it all of the electrical on the vehicle went haywire while driving on the interstate and stalled out. my husband looked at it and had it towed to gillman nissan where they determined it was a powertrain issue where it was sent to dodge. after it was sent to dodge they stated that it wasn't a warranty issue and forced my husband to pay the towing and an additional fee of $100 to look at it. later they stated they could diagnose it until they put an alternator in it for $1200, my husband being a mechanic put a alternator in it and they refused to diagnose it nor fix it without paying more. my husband filed complaints with chrysler customer care where they did nothing and keep stating they set up appointments that we didn't show up on even though that wasn't the case, no appointments were ever made. now a month later my car started acting crazy again, my husband looked at it and diagnosed it as the tipm but when i called dodge they stated that there's a recall on the tipm but they don't have them in stock and it will be months before they ever get them. i am needing help here with they're default defect vehicles they're selling. *tr
This is the known issue with tipm failure, the car just stalled and lost all power and would not start back up. the engine would turn just fine when starting but would not start. had it towed to my regular mechanic and he let me know today that it is the tipm which is currently unavailable with long wait times. *tr
The 2011 dodge durango started having issues with failed starts. it would take multiple instances to get vehicle to start. sometimes the the fuel pump would continue to pump even though engine was stopped. this causes a very smoky burning smell coming from exhaust and engine. took car to dealership and they report the issue is a faulty tipm module. the part is on back order but vehicle is unsafe due to potential issues with stalling while running. repairs estimated at $1200. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that the engine failed to start. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled. an authorized mechanic performed a diagnostic test, which located a failure code at the fuel pump. the fuel pump was replaced, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 74,868.
Vehicle having problems turn on it's to new to be having fuel pump issues very disappointed in this vehicle and reading all of the electrical issues this model has is ridiculous and something needs to be done about this car before it either catches on fire or someone loses a life! *tr
Vehicle was purchased on 9/1/14 and began exhibiting problems in first five days. 9/3/14, the car did not start on the first push of button, but started on the second attempt. on 9/5/14, the car was running and in park, i attempted to put the car in gear (drive) and it began shaking side to side. the car did not move when i pushed the accelerator. i put it back in park and hit the stop button and the engine turned off. it started on the next attempt. on 9/20/14, had a similar problem starting, but this time it took multiple attempts and the engine sputtered a bit and eventually shut off. i tried it again and it worked. my daughter attempted to start the car the same day and had the same issue. 9/21/14 experience the same issues with the car not starting. on 9/22/14, i drove it to work and it started fine. upon leaving work the car failed to start on three attempts, but eventually started. when i stopped 15 minutes later the car would not start again. i placed one foot on the brake and i hit the accelerator as i started the car and it worked. i drove home and attempted to start it again to take it to the dealership, but it would not start. after several attempts it fired up, but began shaking really hard side to side. i put it in drive and the shaking was worse. i put it back in park and the car began sputtering and lurched forward as the engine shut down. i was able to start it a few minutes later and drive to the dealership. it has been at the dealership since 9/22/14 and they have not been able to fix it. i spoke with a chrysler representative who indicated that a recall for the fuel pump relay would go into effect on 10/24/14. the dealership has asked me to take the car until the recall is in effect, despite the fact that both they and chrysler are acknowledging the safety defect. i refuse to put my family at risk in a clearly unsafe car! *tr
Initially it would not start up like not getting fuel. driving down the highway 65 miles it quit running just lost all power. now the fuel pump continues to run even without keys in vehicle. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. after the contact pressed the push to start button, the vehicle stalled. the failure occurred numerous times. the dealer stated that the fuel pump relay was defective and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer stated that the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (fuel system). the approximate failure mileage was 36,100.
Vehicle stalled a few times and had a issue with restarting.took it to dodge that following wednesday to get diagnosed they found a couple issues the main one being the relay to the fuel pump located in the tipm was inop and causing the no start issue that made the vehicle eventually totally shut off. replaced the vehicle battery the next week and the same issue exists. every time when the vehicle was jumpstarted it remained to operate until the night when it was dead no response. seems as though the vehicle times out and defaults to the totally dead mode until jumpstarted the next day. *tr
Durango will not start. just purchased it a couple months ago and i have been stranded several times because it will not turn over. have to take to a dodge dealer and have it looked at, which the closest dealer is hours from me. apparently a recall has been issued but has not been released so i can not go get it fixed. very upset with dodge!! *tr
my 2011 dodge durango started having starting problems in sept. of 2014 and the problem became worst over the next several weeks. on oct. 22, 2014 the vehicle didn't start and had to be tow in for service. i the was told about the tipm problem and that no parts are available and no date for delivery. every day i have talked to chrysler and the dealership with no future of resolving issue. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate. the contact mentioned that after depressing the accelerator pedal several times, the vehicle regained acceleration and stalled. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. the technician replaced the alternator, battery, and fuel pump. however, the failure was not corrected. the contact recently received a notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (fuel system). the dealer advised that the part was not available for repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Vehicle does not always start the first time but stalls at random intervals. when the issue first started occurring, 2-3 times of pushing the ignition the vehicle would fire up. now it takes 20-30 pushes before vehicle starts. lately, i'm the last one to leave the parking lot. i recently called the dealership and inquired about the chrysler p54 recall. "in the affected vehicles, the fuel-pump relay inside the totally integrated power module may fail, causing the vehicle to stall without warning." i was told that my vehicle vin does not qualify for the recall. i have a 2011 dodge durango with the 3.6 l engine. my vehicle is stalling and the problem is getting worse. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that tipm fuel pump relay needed to be repaired. the contact received a notification for recall nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (electrical system). however, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 58,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently stall during start up. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer on three separate occasions. the dealer was finally able to diagnose the failure and stated that the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced. the manufacturer stated that the vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (electrical system). the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 44,000.
The issue started with intermittent issues when starting the vehicle (the vehicle would crank, but never turn over) in addition to other problems such as random puttering while driving and the horn going off for no apparent reason. on the date that the vehicle had to be towed to a dodge dealer, i was unable to get the vehicle to start at all. the dealership's service department discovered that the issues were due to a defective tipm. upon researching this part, i discovered that this is an extremely widespread issue for this vehicle and that there was actually a national shortage of the part for several months due to the overwhelming number of failures resulting from this defective part. despite multiple class action lawsuits and the high number of reported incidents, chrysler has taken no action up to this point to recall the part. *tr
As of today october 6th, 2014 i am unable to drive my 2011 dodge durango. since the beginning of august it has not wanted to start. it will crank like it wants to but nothing. the fuel pump will continue to run even after the car has shut off, draining my battery completely. last week i was driving down the road at 40 mph and the car completely shut off. i lost all power, steering and breaking ability. once i coasted to the side of the road the car would not start! it took me a good 10 minutes to get it running. then it would idle very low and not want to move. this is my primary family vehicle and i will not put my family in this car. i would hate to be on the highway and lose all power with them in the car. thankfully it was just me the other day. what angers me even more is that i am paying for a vehicle that is completely unsafe to drive and will leave you stranded. i have been told that the "recall" is not in effect and the dealer who services my car has not even heard of the recall. they did call me back and say they can't do anything till oct 24th, and even then the parts could be on back order for months. very unhappy with the way this is being handled! *tr
The problem first manifested itself in an occasional difficulty starting the vehicle, typically after it sat overnight. upon pressing the start button the starter would engage but the engine would not start. pressing the start button again to stop the cranking and then re-pressing the button would get the engine to start. weeks would sometimes go by without the problem recurring. around the middle of july 2014 the problem started to get much worse, the car sometimes not starting multiple times during the day even after short stops. around the end of july my wife had the problem happen to her, got the vehicle started, but as she backed out of a parking spot the vehicle stalled in the traffic lane. after that incident i took the vehicle to a dodge dealership where they "cleared several fault codes" and sent me on my way. three days later the vehicle once again wouldn't start, but the "reset and repress" tactic would work and the vehicle would run. around august 7 2014 the problem got much worse. the vehicle took multiple attempts and 1-2 minutes to get running on several mornings, now though the vehicle would stall once started and before moving. once running, in gear, and moving the car would run fine. car failed to start then each morning aug 15-17, taking 1-2 minutes each morning and multiple stalls. on afternoon of august 17, 5 minutes after making a dealer apt for next morning, i was driving at about 10 miles per hour and the engine died completely, power steering and brakes went out as well. only after 3 minutes did finally using the remote start function on the key fob get the vehicle to start and run, this on a very busy roadway blocking a lane of traffic. next day vehicle would not start at the dealer either, they diagnosed a bad tipm module and offered me a new module for $1200 or a "relay kit" for $587. new module cured problem for now. *tr
Vehicle began on occasion, to not start, to shut down after starting and for the fuel pump to continue to run after the car was shut down causing the battery to be run down. it has been determined to be a failed tipm unit at the cost of $963.04 for a vehicle that is 3 years old. the dealer ship is aware of the issues however chrysler hotline said they are unaware of any problems and will not cover the part. *tr
I received a recall notice for my fuel pump relay. i took it in to the dealer in may/june 2014. i was told the part is on back order and they will get back to me. i called the dealership in november and december and someone was suppose to call me back about the part. it is february 2, 2015 and i have not gotten a call back. i left a message today and rep said he will call me back. i took my vehicle in prior because it kept stalling in june 2013. it would stall and would not start. *tr
I have a 2011 dodge durange that has a failing tipm (totally integrated power module) and dodge is aware of this problem however, will continue to sell the cars without fixing so we get so spend over 1,000.00 to fix it! *tr
2011 dodge durango w/5.7 liter engine stalled as i was turning onto the freeway on ramp. pulled over and started right back up. thought it was a fluke or i hit something. stalling occurred again several times while slowing down and making turns. happen once while my wife and daughter were going to store. she will not drive the car anymore. went in for repairs several times with no real conclusion or repair being done. finally went in after one of the stalls and by then the recall was coming out and the tipm and some wiring was replaced. thought it was repaired when over the weekend it happened again as i was slowing for a stop sign with my wife & granddaughter in the car, then to me again 2 days later. we happen to live in a rural area so there is not a lot of traffic, thankfully. it is in dealership now (second week) and they are saying it needs new sparkplugs (which it does) but there is no way a engine should stall due to old sparkplugs. it's a disaster waiting to happen to anyone driving one of these. everything up till this tune-up has been covered under warranty. it has stalled a total of around 8 times and all while slowing down and has been in dealership on and off for about a month total. *tr
I have problems to start the vehicle sometimes the fuel pump does not turn on, i replaced the primary fuel pump and it was working good for 2 weeks after that, the problem came back and other issue when i'm driving, the car accelerate by itself the rpm's goes all the way up, i went to the dealer but they say that if there is no light on (check engine) they can't do anything. *tr
Vehicle having issues cranking, takes awhile to get it started, stalls out while driving. *tr
I am having problems with the 2011 car starting up. i tried to start it at least 5 times before starting. then eventually, it would not start at all. i went to the dealership and they could not find problem after completing a diagnostic. letter they told me i would have to pay 100 dollars per hour in order for them to look at the fuel pump. if that was not the problem, i would still have to pay for it. i took it to another mechanic. they told me it was the fuel box of the integrated power control module. i have not had my car long, and i ready to sell it. no more dodges for me. *tr
Vehicle would not start, would start then it would shut off within a few seconds of being on, this would be repeated several times before the vehicle would stay on and we could drive it. sometimes it would be fine for the rest of the day, other times it would be a continued problem throughout the same day. this has been ongoing since the first incident back in november of 013, and we did take it to the dealership where we purchased it new and they said it was only the computers needing to be calibrated or reset. we notified the dealer the problem still existed, but they did not find a solution. we informed the dealer of problems with the tipm module and that we felt this was the problem, the dealer denied this was the problem. it is now march, 2014 and in recent days we have experienced the vehicle's fuel line relay staying engaged after we have turned off and removed the key from the vehicle. this new problem will stay ongoing until we remove the m20 fuse. we have contacted the dealership and will bring it in. we physically went to the dealer and spoke with a sales rep. who was giving us the impression he had no idea what the problem was and said that no one there could come out to hear the sound of the fuel line remaining engage, we would have to come back when a service personal can hear it and advise on it. we are extremely concerned that the fuel line relay remains active and engaged while the vehicle is standing, this could be potentially life threatening if it were to be rear ended or hit by a moving vehicle. we are concerned that our children, anyone in the vehicle could be seriously injured or killed if this were to happen. with hundreds of complaints from consumers with chrysler/dodge vehicles experiencing the very same problem and with a national back order on the very part that needs fixing, we find it unconscionable that there hasn't been a recall!! *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated the vehicle would stall sporadically due to lack of fuel reaching the engine when first started. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. the dealer stated that the tipm that powered the fuel pump to the engine was defective. the vehicle was not repaired because the part needed to complete the repairs was on backorder. the contact did not call the manufacturer. the failure mileage was 47,460.
The past 2 months, my vehicle has been given me problems starting engine- i turn key to start and it just cranks! in october, i brought to dodge dealership and they told me it needed a "software update"- that didn't do anything. it randomly starts when it wants! then the past week it got really bad- not starting at all! black friday left to shop early in morning- wouldn't start, so took husband's truck- got back at noon- tried again car started- so me and my little girl went into town- stop at traffic red light- then light turned green- pressed gas to go and nothing happened!!!! my car randomly just turned off at light! as cars honked for me to go i hurried and put car in park and prayed for it to crank- it did- and drove straight to dealership- again they said it was an software update! well its sunday and my vehicle is at my mom's because it won't start at all! i'm reading a lot of complaints of ticm- that is backordered- i will call dealer tomorrow - i really love my durango and hope it can be fixed. *tr
I took my vehicle to the dodge dealer and was told that my car could not crank because of a bad tipm module. well that was a month ago, as i was told the part was on back order and would be here october 20th. well that date came and passed and now i am told the part will not be available until november 19th. as i am a customer who is supported dodge i am beginning to have second thoughts and will keep this in mind when i purchase another vehicle. i cannot believe that there is not a national recall because of the numerous customers that are awaiting this particular part. we need help from someone as my car will sit for at least 2 months. *tr
I have a 2011 dodge durango that has been in the dealership's shop since sept 20th. the fuel pumps failed because of a known issue with the totally integrated power module. this item has been on backorder and if that's not enough...dealerships nationwide are restricted to ordering one module per week. i believe this item should be on recall because apparently others are waiting for this part...some over a period of months. i need my vehicle. i've been in touch with customer service/corporate who has been giving me the run around and even promising me a rental car...but not making good on their promise. i'm to the point where i'm calling them daily and getting the same response. i've been assigned a case manager...but the case manager never called me. dodge doesn't have the courtesy of calling me back to let me know what's going on. what kind of business is that? tomorrow i will have been without my vehicle for two weeks without any other means of transportation. i wasn't given an estimate on when the part would be in or a rental car. this really sucks! i have young kids and pray that there isn't an emergency where i need to jump in my vehicle and go because i won't be able to. *tr
Tried to start vehicle and it would not start and the smell of burn wiring this happen several times. i seen the check engine appear and disappear i thought maybe oxygen sensor, or loose wire. so during the holidays november the vehicle cease to start and the vehicle radio and air bag light continue to operate off and on. i contacted a dealer who stated that they would work on the vehicle after the holiday january 9 2014 but change it to the 21 of january so i contacted chrysler dodge corp and they gave me a case number and i stated that others had the same problem and was there a recall. they sent me to the stealership to get it check out. they stated that it would take them a while to check it out one day and they said they fixed the problem (tip module) and that i should pay for it and if not they will charge me 45 dollars a day if i did not pick it up. i stated that i am waiting for the dodge corp to help with the bill. they then stated they are not going to help and if i don't pay they will enforce their extra monies for having it there. i thought they wanted customers not chase them away. go fiat. *tr
Vehicle difficult to start up and will shut off at any time while driving...luckily i coasted to side of road without losing control. *tr
My express dodge durango (purchased in february 2011 with 4 miles on it) began experiencing problem starting about 4 weeks ago august 2013. it started taking multiple attempts to actually get the engine to catch. then last saturday, i went to turn the car on and it would not start at all. i had to have the vehicle towed to a dodge dealership in auburn, wa. i just received a report that problem is due to a broken fuel pump. however, after reading all the complaints on the vehicle this probably sounds very similar to the other owners of this vehicle. the fuel pump is on back order for 2 weeks! *tr
My vehicle would not start after multiple attempts. dodge dealership diagnosed the problem at the tipm. there are over 800 tipms on back order to date with an estimated 4-6 weeks on expected delivery. the dodge talk forum has over 900 blogs with other dodge vehicle owners having similar issues with the tipm. the tipm on my car is causing the fuel system to malfunction but since the tipm is the fuse box it controls multiple components on the vehicle. other dodge owners have had problems with headlights, electric windows, batteries, and the list goes on. dodge customer service is only willing to offer assistance if the part is ordered through the dealership and then the assistance is limited to expediting the part order. at the very least dodge should offer extended warranty on the part itself which costs $800 alone and with installation at the dealership runs over $1300.
We started having issues with the car wanting to start or start for a few seconds and slowly die until we hear a knocking sound. after quite a few attempts the car would finally start. 2011 dodge durango, was then taken to the dealership where it was identified as a faulty tipm (totally integrated power module) that was not sending signal correctly to fuel pump. dealership made us pay $900 plus for the part and let us drive it off the lot. issue still occurred for a little over a week before the vehicle completely shut off while going 60 mph down the road. luckily we were able to get the vehicle to the shoulder before being in an accident. the vehicle started back up and continued to behave the same until one day the vehicle would not start any more at all. now what happen was the tipm was causing the fuel pump to stay on all the time and thus drained the battery, and now the vehicle will not start at all. the vehicle is just over two years old. today we contacted the corporate office and were told, they were not even suppose to let us drive the vehicle off the lot with the tipm being bad. we have waited over 10 weeks for a replacement part after they have already taken the money and were told today by corporate that over +1000 of the tipms are on back order with no expected date of delivery. this is absolutely ridiculous that a part like this would go out on a two year old vehicle. this definitely needs to be made a mandatory recall and reimbursement by the chrysler corporation. *tr
My vehicle has push button start. the battery in the remote that controls the vehicle started to die and the vehicle became hard to start. took the remotes to the dealership to get the batteries changed. they managed to damage the programming to the vehicle. two days after changing the battery, the vehicle would not start at all. it was no longer stalling. had the vehicle towed to the dealership and they stated the programming was off and the tip module was gone and needed replacement. they could not offer further details. *tr
I attempted to start my vehicle and it would not start if i stepped on the gas very hard and several time it would then start. i was then sitting at a red light and the car stalled in the middle of an intersection. i made an appointment with a local dodge dealership at motorwold. my appointment wasn't for several days and i continued to have problems starting my vehicle in which i would attempt to start the ignition and it wouldn't turn on and i would have to step on the gas very hard until it started. i then had my appointment with the dodge dealer at motorworld. i was told 2 days later that my vehicle had been diagnosed with a total tipm(total integrated power module) failure and that my car was unsafe to drive. i would told that the tipm was on an intergalactic back order and that there were no parts in usa and that over 1000 people throughout the us were awaiting this part. i was told that motorwold would not be able to get the tipm until approximately some time in november 2013. i was told that my warranty company fidelity whom i had an extended warranty through would only cover 1 day of rental. i was told that i needed to contact chrysler regarding a rental vehicle. i spend hours calling and on hold with chrysler with phone calls. i also have lodged a complaint with the department of consumer protection. at this time i am paying for vehicle that i can not drive. i am currently in a rental vehicle and it is unknown when my vehicle will be fixed. i fear that the tipm will be replaced with another faulty part. i fear someone will be seriously injured or killed due to this faulty vehicle. i am currently paying for a care that i can not drive bc it is unsafe. dodge/chrysler needs to do something for their customers who were sold a faulty unsafe vehicle. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that all four rims of the tires were replaced on three separate occasions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the dealer stated the rims were not completely made of aluminum, which possibly was causing the failure. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the contact also smelled a strong odor of fuel emitting after the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (electrical system). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 7,481.
From the purchase of the durango i have had issues with the key fab not being recognized, not starting, and the rear camera not working. three weeks ago i put the car in reverse and it started turning over (trying to start again, while on). since its a push button start i tried to turn it off and tried for about 5 minutes before it finally would go back into park and turn off. i have been in contact with two dealers for the duration of the issue and both have either ignored the problem or charged me to fix something. the most recent was having a "no start situation" where the fuel relay needed to be replaced. supposedly this was going to fix all my problems. the day after getting the car back, it failed. no start while sitting in front of a customers house. and of course, the three warranty's i have do not cover the issue and since they never "diagnosed" the problem when i brought it in days after purchase i am to pay all out of pocket fees. *tr
