I was driving my car one afternoon after work and all of a sudden all the lights on my dashboard lit up. i turned the car off rested for a minute then restarted it and proceeded to the oil change place to get my car an oil change thinking that would do the trick. fast forward to friday off this same week my car all of a sudden stopped working. the car lights blink for a second off the car comes on but otherwise it had not fully started in 2 days.
When driving the vehicle it will randomly begin to stall when driving and power off. once you let you sit it will start right back up kind rough and then drive fine. then couple days later it will do it again. my wife was making a turn when it stalled and almost got t boned. we took it in for the fuel pump recall but no parts have been pushed out for this recall nor have been made. they told.us to just keep driving it even though its asking g for an accident to happen. i asked for a replacement car and was denied and was told i can take it to another dealer but they said the same thing.
I was driving down the road and, lost power and it started slowing down. i got in the right lane and coasted to side of road. i cut engine off and that was it. i tried to re start and it just kept turning over. it it only have 61,522 miles on it. mancanic came out and said it's the fuel pump.
2014 recall on this vehicle 14v-530 p54 was addressed according to chrysler, but we keep on having the same problem with car shutting off while driving subsequently shutting off power steering assist making steering almost impossible, we have been in real dangerous situations twice now, chrysler does not further want to address this issue.
The vehicle is stalling while trying to start , the vehicle will act like it's not getting and fuel while driving and will preform a jerking motion as i continue to press the gas pedal down trying to get some fuel. the vehicle was in motion on a 4 lane highway.the cause of the problem is a faulty fuel system relay , i have done research over a dozen time talked to certified vehicle men and it is a recall on 2011 dodge durango's.
My vehicle has 69,000 miles on it. it is very well maintained. recently i have experienced when coming to a complete stop the vehicle for whatever reason shuts off. i have to push the ignition button to restart the vehicle and it runs fine. it's scary to think that your vehicle can just shut it's off without any warning. the dealership doesn't have an explanation and there is no recall. however; there are multiple people via the internet that have experienced this same event. i think fodge should be looking into this issue. fuel related..electrical?? lots of questions, but something needs to be done!!! scared for my safety!!
When driving at highway speeds and slowing down to stop or exit the road via off ramp or turn, the vehicle will randomly stall causing brakes and steering to become non-responsive. there is no warning prior to vehicle shutting down. it happens suddenly and randomly. it always appears to be when slowing down to exit a road or take a turn. i have to coast the vehicle until it stops and put it into park or neutral to start it again. it works fine until the next time. it has happened six times in the last month.
I had just started driving on the freeway when my dash started dinging and my temp went from cold to extremely hot so i pulled over.there was plenty of oil and water in it(i double checked).i started it up again and it went cold again,as i started driving to the nearest exit off the freeway a few noments later to have it looked at,it all of the sudden it woundnt let me give it gas.it slowed way down in the middle of the freeway.i got it off the freeway eventually it went back to normal then quickly started to make an awful sound.i stopped the car again for the fourth time and opened the hood and hot smoke vame out.after i let it cool for 2 hours on the side of the road it woundnt start.it wanted to but no fuel was getting to where it was suppose too.i had it looked at and no blown rod.they said ot looked like something to do with the fuel something or other.i had it tolled to my home 335 miles away where it sits broke and it cost me 300.00 thu aaa.two days later on 8/17/18 i get a recall notice on the brake booster and alternator diode thermal fatigue.the problem i have is my car almost caused a huge multi car collision on i 30 in tx. and it stranded me in a bad neighborhood..
The last recall that was performed was the p54 fuel relay. i believe the problem is somewhere in the entire electrical system. the reason i suspect this is because the vehicle has lots of intermittent problems. for example, the alarm goes off randomly for no reason since i purchased the vehicle, power locks open on their own, vehicle has difficulty starting at times and then starts right up most of the time, and all without a warning or error code on the dashboard. the most recent problem almost killed me and my family this morning as the vehicle turned off while driving and almost caused an accident, again no error codes or warnings. an investigation should be opened because this is extremely dangerous as the vehicle can turn off at any moment and without warning.
Driving down road. went to make a left turn and vehicle shut off. no power. no power steering. managed to pull onto shoulder and restart. was told there is a recall on this but my vehicle was not manufactured in the proper month for this recall. very dangerous. has happened multiple times now
Vehicle stalls while stopped or slowing to make a turn. this vehicle has stalled 3 times while stopped on a city street and once while making a turn in front of on coming traffic.
Car won't start sometimes. stalls out while driving.
I have different problems, the airbag warning sometime comes on, the car doesn't start sometimes and stall too. the back door open when nobody is in the car. backup camera doesn't turn on sometimes. the leather cracked in all seats. last sunday july, 23 2017 @ 2:00pm got on fire. total loss of my vehicle.
Tamara recall vehicle won't start wiper keep going on and they are off it has a bad tipm the brake system makes a lot of noise.
Vehicle fails to start and stalls while in motion. brought vehicle to dealer to issue safety recall to install external fuel pump relay. dealer was unable to correct issue and vehicle still fails to start and stalls when driving without warning.
While driving on a main road and slowing to turn, my car has stalled on me 3 different times, the last time being today 8/9/16.
Radio started going off and on once the car was parked started smoking under hood and then would not start at all had to have it towed to a garage. garage alternator caught on fire order new alternator also it ruined the battery new battery put in still would not start had to take it to a dodge dealer now i have a bill for $1500.00 i have trying to pay as much as i could afford each week but not getting far i need something,i really need my car back
My vehicle push to start system sticks and the vehicle takes long attempting to start. my vehicle while driving has gone dead on me although the dash is still lite radio playing. the steering wheel stiffens and the brakes get hard. i have to struggle to pull over and stop in order to place the car back in neutral or park in order to start it again. it has stalled while in motion, while slowing down for a red light, while making a turn. i have had several near misses of other cars, curbs, and ditches. i use this car every day to transport myself and my children. i have had this car to the dealership numerous times, have had the tipm bypass and the car still hard starts and stalls despite the recalls. i am totally disappointed with this situation that is a definite hazard. most recent complaint, my car has be idling high and now finally it overheat and the water pump has to be replaced. i am totally disappointed.
On an intermittent, but regular basis, the vehicle (2011 dodge durango) stalls when slowing into a turn or approaching a stoplight. once the vehicle stalls, the steering column locks making it difficult to turn the vehicle. this has resulted in several close calls with other vehicles and even objects (curbs, light poles, etc.) i use this vehicle to transport my children on a daily basis and am concerned for their safety as well as my own. we have taken the vehicle in to the dealership that it was purchased from (arrigo dodge, chrysler, jeep ram) in west palm beach fl. eight (8) times for this same problem. they have replaced various parts, and even been able to recreate the problem once, however, every time we get the vehicle back, within a few days or weeks it stalls again. there have been several recalls on this particular vehicle, including one for the fuel pump relay within the tipm-7 and one for the 160 amp alternator, both of which can cause the vehicle to stall. i have included as many of the applicable service reports as the upload will allow. the dealership stated that they contacted chrysler at one point, but did not receive any answers as to how to fix the problem.
Vehicle stalled while driving approx. 30 mph on 2-way road while approaching a turn. all power stopped. was able to brake and turn just enough to avoid collision. at stop had to put into park in order to restart vehicle. coincidentally, just rec'd info in mail re: tipm safety recall.
The car will crank but will not start. when pressing the push to start button it turns over like its going to start but will not start. after taking it to the dealership for recall work it has the same re-occuring issue. dodge says that it was fixed but i now have to take it to an independant repair shop to pay out of pocket for a known issue with this vehicle. this is a common problem with this make and model and should be paid for and fixed by mopar and not the customer!
My vehicle is subject to recall number 14v-530 dated september 3, 2014. i was never notified despite having my vehicle serviced at the dealership on multiple occasions. i recently contacted both the dealership and manufacturer and have been informed the part is not available despite the manufacturers recall website stating it is. i am concerned to be driving in a vehicle with a potentially life threatening defect.
While driving, the car will abruptly speed up and slow down without any pressure or change in movement on the gas pedal. this has happened numerous times since about early 2012. i had a repair done on the car by the dealership as part of my warranty now these problems have made a reappearance. along side sudden speed changes without me touching anything, i have had two previous incidents of the car (while driving!) turning on all error indicators (check engine light, high beam, hazard lights, tire pressure etc) and wiper blades simultaneously. these were very scary incidents, too scared to drive to the dealership i returned to my house (went to drop my son off to get a hair cut) and called the dealership in which my vehicle was towed the next day. i have also had problems with the fob technology in the keyless start of the car where i would put my purse in the back seat of the car, close the door and all doors lock and will not unlock, then i have to once again call the dealership and wait for them to assist me. one of the main reason i bought this car is because i was assured keys locked in the car would never happen, however i have had it happen to me more than all my other cars in the past. now i have a small child with me and along side these recent reoccurrence of serious issues with my car and big recall by fca, no longer do i feel safe driving.
I drove approximately 45 miles from my home to visit relatives for the 4th of july. two hours after arriving i went to drive my durango and it wouldn't start. when pushing the ignition button it would just make a loud noise similar to the alternator going out and wouldn't start. my durango had to be towed to a local dealership that following monday since they closed early for the 4th of july. diagnostics were ran and it was concluded the fuel pump was out. this happened less than 1 year from having the tipm fuel pump relay repaired on 7/25/14, which chrysler later issued a recall for. i'm in the process of seeking reimbursement for those repairs. i strongly believe there is a direct correlation to the faulty tipm fuel pump relay causing the actual fuel pump to fail and should be covered by chrysler. repairs were in excess of over 1k to have fixed.
I was driving the suv in about 30 degree weather attempting to enter the highway when i lost almost all engine power simultaneously the check engine light tripped. luckily there were no vehicles behind me, i was able to make it to the next exit. the code tripped was : po6dd mod $00 engine oil pressure control circuit performance/stuck off. is this safe? and do the electrical issues with the other modules have any effect on this? *tr
Driving through town, every warning light came on and wipers starting going uncontrollably. rpm starting diving to 0 and then back up to appropriate rpm for speed. other dials and nav/media screen also starting flashing. tones and lights kept flashing on and off and i immediately proceeded the few miles down the street to drop it off at the dodge dealership. vehicle was up to date on all service and recalls, except the fuel pump recall which we were told we were in line for based on parts and capacity issues. i spent $1300 to replace the tipm to fix 37 out of the 38 codes, and then another $1300 for a new headlight power module (for the last code) which shorted out and, per the mechanic, shorted out the original tipm (since they are in series with no protection between). the tipm houses all of these power modules internally, so one bad short on a subcomponent can ruin your entire tipm. the recall on the fuel pump power module adds an external component for this subsystem to protect it from these tipm failures, but does not address the major tipm safety issue! from researching other owners' experiences i was lucky the entire vehicle didn't shut down on me while driving. this is a major safety issue! i can't believe that i had to pay for these costly repairs, and all this does is replace these flawed components with the same flawed components again. i have to get rid of this car and soak up a huge financial loss to do so because this car is a ticking time bomb and i can't allow my family to ride around in it safely. *tr
I have received 3 recalls notifications and only one its taken care off iaw dealer - ferman dodge in sr54, tampa fl. i received a p60, p45 and p50 or p54 don't have the recall doc with me. the dealer is stalling on getting the parts according to them. but, i bet its a paying customer that comes with same problem and the parts i bet it will appear very quick. on 12.25.2014, i was going at 45 mph and suddenly and the speed slowed down and had to pull to the side, turn off the car and start it again, a verify scary moment with family in the car. its been now 2 months since i mentioned to them the car is suffering of long cranks. have to play with ignition to get it to start. the car only have 51+k miles and should not have this happen. need to get this issue resolved or i will keep pushing to the top to get my car fixed. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled and would not restart. the failure recurred on a daily basis. the vehicle was taken to a dealer. the technician diagnosed that the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 74,000.
I tried for 7 months to get the brake recall done on my truck. the awd did not work as it should during a snow storm.. then the recall was recieved and none of the dealers wanted to repair the recall. they kept telling me they hadnt received the parts. then there was a fuel type recall, a recall that the engine could shut off and some electrical issue that could cause a fire.. again i couldnt get any of these repaired. then on the night before thanksgiving 2014 my heat went. on friday 11/28/14 i tried 3 chrysler dealer ships to get the heat fixed and schedule time for the recall. one dealership told me i was at the bottom of the list because i didnt purchase the truck from them. i ended up trading in the truck for a nissan pathfinder on that day. and almost a month later i received a bill from a chrysler dealer ship who had finally completed the recall work expecting 165.00 from me. i am so financially ruined from this.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while traveling approximately 45 mph and attempting to exit a major highway, the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. the service manager indicated that the technician was hard wiring the power to the fuel pump module through the relay as an interim repair. the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (fuel propulsion system). the contact was waiting for the part to repair the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

My durango started having problems starting. the starter would continue but the vehicle wouldn't start. this started around october 1st, 2014. after a couple of weeks the problem started getting worse and then after starting it would shut off. after several attempts at this the vehicle would run. the problem has been getting worse every day. on 11-3-14 i received a recall notice for the tipm. i called my dodge dealer and was advised that there is nothing that they could do for me at this time as the parts don't exist. i then called the chrysler group recall assistance center. they told me to take it to another dealer or to an independent dealer and have it fixed at my own expense. i could send them the receipts to be reimbursed. i again called my dodge dealer who said that they could replace the tipm, which would cost over $1,000 out of my pocket. that was the only recourse they had for the time being. i don't think that it is fair at all that chrysler wants me to pay over $1,000 out of my own pocket to fix their problem and wait to be reimbursed, which will take over 60 days or even at all. *tr
Want to file a complaint regarding dodge recall notice p54/nhtsa 14v-530. tipm fuel pump relay. dodge has advised us of severity of this recall issue and the fact that our vehicle could lose power without any advance warning. they then go on to say that they currently do not have any parts to fix the problem. when i called my dealer the service advisor indicated it could be up to a year before parts are available. totally unacceptable! we basically have a $40k vehicle that is unsafe to drive. this is the third recall where we have been advised of a potentially lethal problem only to have our dealer say they cannot get parts to fix. where is the accountability from dodge? *tr
My car started having trouble turning on and staying on. eventually, after several attempts it would turn on. i took it to the dealer planet dodge (worse service ever) to be told that the vehicle is under the recall for the fuel relay pump (tipm). the part is being manufactured by chrysler which they are planning to fix it by adding a part but not replacing the tipm. in the recall it says the part required is not available yet. upset i contacted chrysler to be told to either drive the vehicle like that which can shut off and cause a crash without warning or pay $1,000 to replace the tipm. now, what upsets me is that they do not care at all whether you drive the car or not and/or if you crash and to be reimbursed chrysler has to changed the tipm (which they won't) and since they won't we will not be reimbursed. it is frustrating how they so nicely tell you to drive the car even though they know it can shut off without warning. don't fall for the "refund" talk, they will not refund it!!!! *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact received nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the vin was unavailable. the contact did not experience a failure.
Over the past 2 weeks our durango has had issues with starting. when using the push start button the engine will crank over multiple times and never start. sometimes vehicle will start and other times it can take over 20 attempts to start. in one incident it took 34 time to start and even cause black smoke to come up from under the hood. from research with chrysler corporate and the local dealer, they are aware of the problem. we took the vehicle into the local dealership for an assessment and we were told that the problem had to do with the tipm/fuel relay system. we were told they could not fix it because they didn't have parts to remedy the issue and that they hadn't received a recall notice from chrysler corporate. from my research it appears the recall number is p54. yesterday, on 10/28/2014 while driving on a major road at 50mph the vehicle with two children in the back seat completely stalled and died. luckily i was able to pull over to the shoulder and we are blessed we weren't in a major accident or killed. i contacted chrysler corporate and local dealer immediately and again was told they could do nothing about it. not a loaner vehicle, not replacement of part at full cost.. absolutely nothing. this is completely unacceptable and when you put my children's lives at stake it becomes personal. the vehicle is now parked in the garage because we fear for our lives. please help. *tr

Vehicle engine would start with use of ignition button, then vehicle engine would shut off with out warning. at this time vehicle will not re-start with use of ignition button. vehicle would just engage starter motor and not fire engine with use of ignition button. starter would run on until button is pushed to engage the off position, with a no start condition. after several cycles of the ignition button vehicle engine will finally start and stay running. problem is recurring often.this is absolutely unacceptable for any vehicle and the safety of its occupants. this can lead to loss off control of vehicle, possible collision and loss of life, at high speeds on the crowded interstates, or moderate speeds on small town streets. *tr
Driving with my family to church on rucker avenue in everett washington at a speed of approximately 35 miles per hour. the engine stalled and car lost power. was able to safely pull to the side of the road. same thing happened a week later while driving on colby avenue in everett. the car had been having difficulty starting, it would crank over but not start. on october 1'st i took the car to dwayne lanes in everett, they told they had fixed the problem. the car still did not start and the problem remains. took the car back to dwayne lanes and informed them that the car was stalling while driving. they commented that the part was on back order and subject to a recall (p54/nhtsa 14v-530). dwayne lanes advised that they did not know when the part would be in and suggested that i take the vehicle back and utilize it until the part came in. i informed dwayne lanes that i would not be driving a car that loses power at random times on public roads. i informed dwayne lanes that this would put my safety at risk as well as everyone else on the road. dwayne lanes informed me that there is nothing they can do. the car has 32,000 miles on it, and is still under warranty. have contacted chrysler, tempe dodge, and dwayne lanes, as well as insurance. no person will provide a loaner vehicle, or an estimate of when the car will become drivable again. *tr
Vehicle will start sometimes after multiple attempts and then shut back off. dealership agreed faulty tipm is the cause and chrysler is aware of the issue. my vin is not included in a recall for the issue, so i had to pay $1200 out of pocket to repair. *tr
Luckily i was driving in a non-congested area in a 35 mph zone when my 2011 dodge citadel lost power and shut off. i was able to pull of the road and it restarted after cranking for a while. starting seems to be a problem on some mornings. the vehicle will crank and crank then after repeated attempts it will fire. this vehicle has a 5.7l v8 if that matters. i'm worried i might lose power on the highway. judging from an internet search this may be a problem for many owners of this vehicle: http://www.carcomplaints.com/dodge/durango/2011/electrical/tipm_going_bad_vehicle_wont_start_or_hard_to_start.shtml sounds like a tipm problem. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to restart. the dealer diagnosed that the pump relay needed to be replaced. the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (fuel system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 39,000.
Received 2 recall notices for problem with fuel pump relay. engine could quit at any time. went to bob lamphere's newberg dodge after receiving notices. was told parts would be in after 2 weeks. this info was provided on july 21, 2014. i would be notified when to bring in the car for warranty work. on may 5, 2015 i was informed that the parts are in and need an appointment. nothing happened until i called chrsyler in michigan and they were at a loss as to why the warranty hasn't done. my opinion, newberg dodge just forgot the warranty work until chrysler called them. i am waiting for some one from chrsyler to call and work out a schedule to repair the fuel pump relay. safety recall p54 / nhtsa 14v-530. Vehicle would not start after sitting for an hour. the car also did not run very well while driving. dealer is saying it is a faulty tipm which controls the electrical features of the vehicle. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while attempting to turn on the vehicle, it hesitated intermittently. the dealer stated that the fuel pump relay was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 64,000.
I bought a 2011 dodge durango in october of 2013. there have since been several recalls, all took some time to resolve because there were part shortages on both occasions. the most recent problem that has yet to be officially termed a recall because chrysler claims they are still "researching" the issue involves a faulty ignition wiring harness. this defect prevents the proper communication between the ignition and fuel systems, which results in a vehicle that has problems starting or won't start altogether. my vehicle falls under the latter category as it is currently stuck in my driveway. i called my local dealer and they are well aware of the problem, but there is a nationwide backorder for parts to correct the issue and chrysler corporation is dragging their feet in declaring it a recall, presumably trying to avoid bad publicity. in the meantime, i'm stuck with an useless vehicle, and chrysler corp refused to provide a rental vehicle when i called them on 13 oct 2014 because they didn't know when the parts would be available. they also refused to provide anything in writing stating that they keep their own records. the only thing they claimed to be able to do is provide a an email when the parts became available, for which they could provide no estimate. their conclusion appears to be that it is perfectly acceptable to sell a vehicle that can be rendered inoperable through their own negligence or poor manufacturing practices within 3 years.as an active duty service member an unreliable vehicle is not an acceptable option. *tr
Vehicle will not start after multiple attempts from inside drivers compartment using push button on dash. however, vehicle will start using remote key fob. *tr
My wife had problems starting the durango on tuesday morning 9/16. my wife repeatly tried to restart the vehicle. when it would finally crank, it would sputter and die. if you tried to give it gas the accelerator would go all the way to the floor without the engine revving. after several more attempts it finally started and she was able to make it to work without any problems. as she left work the same problem occured turn the key nothing, turn the key nothing, take the key out, turn the key, it cranks and then shuts off. after going through the same routine over and over we finally got it to crank. we decided to have the car battery tested and it passed. we got a new battery for the remote but that didn't solve the problem. we finally took our durango to the local dealership the next day 9/17 knowing they were going to charge $100 diagnostic fee. we explained the problem and even took the service man to the vehicle and it would not start. so he actually observed the issue. 2hrs later they call saying a problem could'nt be found. the test didn't produce a code. ok, so we spent $100 dollars on a diagnostic test with no diagnosis. as we picked up the vehicle i asked the service man if they had seen this problem before and of course his answer was no. he suggested it was probably a communication problem. well duh, something wasn't communicating. he tells us to make sure all doors, including the rear hatch are closed before starting. not what i was expecting for $100. well, he may have been telling the truth but i am not a mechanic and since then i have researched the problem and found many complaints regarding the faulty tipm. i ageee with others who have filed a complaint. chrysler is aware of this problem and are refusing to take ownership. what will it take, death or a serious injury? i want my family safe. no amount of money can replace loved ones! *tr
