Passenger side window no longer operates.it is stuck in the up position, thankfully. but it does no go down, although it is trying, the noise the motor makes whem first engaged is still there in an attempt to do its job. does not go down by passenger button, does not go down by driver side button, both buttons and no it is not on lock position. safety issue yes in case there is an accident or something obstructing your door and only way to escape is through window...that wont go down.

I started my car by the factory installed remote starter and was leaving a parking lot and i heard a high pitched hum coming from the engine and the 'battery saver on' light was on. i started to drive and the car was really sluggish almost to the point if i came to a complete stop it would shut down. i drover that way for about 2 miles and during that time i started to smell something burning. i shut the car off and waited about 15 minutes and restarted the car by using the push button and the message was gone, but once the car was put into drive the battery saver message came on and burning smell was back. . i had the car towed into the elgin jeep dodge dealership on a friday night (about an hour after everything happened) and on monday i was told that nothing showed up and that it was probably the alternator but since no error codes showed they can't do anything, even though there is a recall (#t36/ nhtsa 17v-435) for the alternator. they told me that i should take the car back and hope that it doesn't happen again and when the parts come in for the recall come back and get it fix then. i did contact fiat chrysler automobiles (fca) to try and get it temporary fix but due to there being no error codes they will not fix anything. after researching this problem it seems to me that the fca will not fix anything until the car starts on fire. i drive about 40 miles a day on an expressway where speeds are about 60-70 mph, i don't feel safe that the alternator will just go and the car will stop. i feel that since there was a sign of issues that something should be fixed.
I noticed that my lights were dimming as i am driving regularly so. while wating on the new alternator to come in so that i can be get this problem fixed since april 2017. the alternator drained my battery. dodge would not replace the battery so i went and purchased on a few days later while the charger sat for 3 days with no power. once i put the new battery in the everything came back on so i took the car out for a drive and in just under 5 min smoke was coming from my hood. pulled over to an auto parts store to get some help and the alternator starts sparking and once i was able to pull the battery out for it to stop pulling power the people at the parts store told me that this car is unsafe to drive and i agree. i sent it back to the dealership and i have it back now but i'm afraid to drive this thing with my girl and our kids can you help. i just got out of the military and i'm driving a car that i feel is unsafe with 6 recalls two of them being the alternator.

My car will not start with the remote or bush button. and 3 weeks ago.i was driving my car and the abs service light came on and the battery light came on and some other symbol came on. i drove the car home stopped it. turned motor off. waited started car again and all sorts of lights came on and off then the service abs warning light came back on again and the battery light . taking off the battery negative terminal would reset ecu. 1 week later i am driving to the store and light came on saying that the engine was overheating. now as i was driving home the needle started to go back down and the light turned off. when i got home i checked my coolant level and it was just fine. so why did it do this? another thing now just last night, nov 11th, saturday night, i went out to the garage to start my car and it would not start?when i tried to start it i heard a clicking sound that was coming from the radiator area. the emergency flashers were flashing and the car would not even turn over. i got my multimeter and checked my battery and it was completely dead. so i charged it over night. i tried to start it next morning it would not start. my charger has a alternator check setting on it and it said it was charging. still would not start. when i put on the battery cables? the flashers and horn would sound off? i pull the fuses on both and tried starting it again no luck. i then used the engine start feature on my battery charger and the car started right up no problem. i put the fuses back closed hood closed trunk and took car out for a drive for about 5 miles no problems.came back home stopped car and turned off engine and re-started it several times with no issues. it started up fine. does my car fall under the safety recall p60 / nhtsa 14v-634 alternator - 2011-2014 dodge chrysler & jeep.do i need one of those new alternators?

While driving my 2013 dodge charger daytona at 60mph the vehicle just stopped working. the power just failed, i had no break or steering and just had to pray no one pulled out in front of me or i would have hit them. i have been researching this since my dealership says their is no open recall but there are literally hundreds of complaints of the same problem all over different websites. this is scary and very dangerous since people typically drive very fast in these vehicles! i could've been killed or killed someone else! not to mention that waiting for the tow truck i couldn't even move the car or have any hazards on.

Nhtsa recall number 17v-435 announced (6/9/2017) the alternator may experience diode thermal fatigue failure due to cyclical loads induced by electro-hydraulic power steering. attempts to arrange addressing this recall with dodge dealerships in port jervis (port jervis auto mall & manhattan jeep chrysler dodge) in september and october 2017 both were unsuccessful, with both dealerships indicating they were not being supplied with the replacement alternators by dodge, and therefore could not carry out the recall service. port jervis auto mall said that i could purchase the replacement alternator and pay for the service to replace it, submit the receipts to dodge, but that they could not guarantee that dodge would reimburse if done this way. i have learned that failure of this diode and the alternator while driving could result in the electrical system shutting down, losing power steering and brakes, with high danger of causing an accident. why is dodge not addressing this very dangerous situation?
I purchased my 2013 dodge charger from anderson toyota of lake havasu city, arizona as a certified pre-owned vehicle last year. i have since come to discover that the vehicle has 5 active safety recalls, none of which were addressed or fixed prior to the dealership selling me the car. several of the recalls have been in place for years, but i was never informed that i was being sold a vehicle known to be unsafe. i am now paying on a financed vehicle that cannot be driven out of town, due to known defects that were in place at the time of purchase.
When driving my 2013 dodge charger se all of the lights flashed on the dash and the auto trans would not shift out of 1st gear . i ran my obd2 and it gave a trouble code of u0002 high speed can bus. it then stalled on the hwy and i about crashed the vehicle due to now power steering or brakes. it is now in the shop at 125.00 per hour and the dodge dealership has no idea what is wrong either. it will not start at all. no cranking no nothing.
The windshield wipers came on by them self out of nowhere no it was not raining and stayed on will not go off by using the proper switch
If the alternator fails, the vehicle stall without warning, took the car to the dealership and been told that recall p60 is only for 160 am alternator and my is 180 but the same problem happen to my car.

The car's electrical systems, including abs, power steering, electronic stability and dashboard gauges, as well as ac and radio, suddenly cut out during driving. this was followed by the alternator catching fire. this occurred while driving on a city street (in motion). the fire was quickly extinguished with a bottle of water, but some plastic/wiring was burned.

Hello my 2013 dodge charger 3.6 while i was driving the vehicle has just shut down with no warnings and i had to get it towed to a dodge shop u waited on my vehicle for days and they said it was a blown fuse but i'm in the technology field and it seems to me that someone has access or remotely access to my vehicle now i have issues with my fuel which i'm getting 10 miles a gallon, and my vehicle is getting to a point to wear i have to pull over because it's getting overheated something is seriously wrong and i feel unsafe anytime your vehicle shuts off where you don't have control of it it's a hazard to everyone my uconnect radio ask for a anti theft code but it was before i took it to auto nation dodge it really needs to be looked at i've parked the vehicle it has 67000 miles and i just bought it in october of last year also the windows roll down by there selfs the vehicle was going about 45 mph on city hwy and the dealership never had it smoked before they sold it to me
When driving i could hear a noise which i thought was the transmission them i could smell a faint smell of burning plastic. then the battery saver light came on. i called the dealer and they told me to bring it in. never made it. got about 2 miles and abs light came on and traction control light came on. the brakes would engage on their on their own finally the car started to stall and coasted to a stop. when stopped the windshield wipers were running slowly. had to have the car towed to dealer at my cost. they said alternator was burned up and it also burned up the battery. extended warranty will pay for alternator but not the battery. car has 43000 miles.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. while driving 10 mph, the contact heard a whining noise and the abs, traction, and battery saver indicators illuminated. the contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle home at a slow rate of speed. while pulling into the driveway, the contact noticed smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. the contact parked, exited the vehicle, opened the hood, and saw smoke. the vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. the contact called the dealer (larry h. miller dodge ram havana, 2727 s havana st, denver, co 80014 (720) 907-1243) to inquire about an alternator recall because his previous dodge charger was included in a recall for the alternator. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 40,900.
The car was shut down for 1 1/2 hours and sitting in a parking lot with nothing running or on. when the car was started as normal, there was an odd sound coming from under the hood. i popped the hood and noticed smoke coming from the alternator. i shut the car down and black smoke was coming from the alternator. i heard popping and sizzling coming from the alternator.
For some reason no matter how many times i replace it, the front fuse for the a.c. where the engine is located keeps getting something burned on the side of it causing my a.c. to stop blowing cool air. it doesn't matter if the car is in motion or not. i have seen a lot of other people that own this type of car having the same problem.
I was driving from tulsa to joplin when the battery saver light came on. shortly after i lost all digital gauges and power steering. car shut off and became hard to control. i was in left lane on interstate with tractor trailers in the right lane, car slowed to around 10 miles an hour as i tried to get across right lane onto shoulder. car in right lane would not move and almost caused accident. was able to get car to shoulder. original alternator failed at 130,000 miles. dodge wanted over 600 dollars to replace and said the original recall did not effect my model. purchased a second alternator from autozone but it was dead out of the box. third alternator lasted from september 2016 to july 2017. installed fourth alternator on 7/15/2017 but diagnostics shows the regulator is failing. autozone is telling me that dodge has other issues causing failure. problem i have is dodge would not replace the original alternator as it was not included in recall.
Intermittent electrical problems such as the windshield wipers coming on, heater turning on, gauges blinking on and off, failure to start and stalling while driving. i assumed the alternator was bad so i attempted to drive it to my local repair shop and the vehicle died in the driveway. i had to have it towed to an automotive shop. they told me that the battery was fried and they would have to replace it to diagnose the vehicle. as soon as a new battery was installed it immediately fried that battery and they said that the alternator was generating heat and beginning to smoke. they told me that there was a major electrical short that they could not diagnose and sent it to a dodge dealership for diagnosis. this particular vin number is not under the current recall but all of the symptoms the car was having is exactly what is described in the recall notice.
