At first i was unable to call out through my cars bluetooth, but if i used my phone to call out i could hear and speak through my car. however this did not last long since the speakers quit working. a loud clicking started in my dash. the radio turns on but no sound. when this happened i could not start my car after goggling the issue i found that others had the same issue and said that if you take the remote itself to push the start button their car started. i tried this and at this time my car will start this way. also my trunk just opens on it's own. this happens constantly. i called dealership about it and they said it was not a recall. i'm a disabled person, and i need my car to get to and from doctor appointments. i do not have a lot of money and can not afford to pay to get these issues fixed. i feel that since there has been so many other people w oath the same issues that these things should be recalled and customers have their vehicles taken care of. thank you for your time. donna [xxx] these things happened over time so i have no certain dates. Having troubles with my dodge charger heard it's a recall . i'm extremely disappointed. it's my pcm

I was driving my vehicle straight down a city street at 36 miles per hour through an intersection light and my car began to shake really hard and the car began to drop speed on its own, i went to press the gas to acelerate and the egine light began to flash and the air conditioner started blowing really hot air and i lost all power to the vehicle.i tried to push the gas to turn off the busy street but i had no power so i had to pretty much coast to the nearest place to get out of traffice. once i pulled over into a parking lot the car started to have a smell as if something was burning underneath the hood, at that point i put the car in park and pushed the off button, i sat a few minutes then tried to restart the car but it would not start and kept making a noise so i turned the car off got out and got my toddler out of the backseat and called my husband, he arrived about 10 minutes later and tried jump starting the car but it would not start and was making a weird noise when pushing the start button, at this point i figured the car stopped due to the alternator recall that was issued so i called my insurance company and had the vehicle towed to my local dodge dealership where i had a diagnostic done on the vehicle and was told my engine is completely burned up due to lack of oil which is not true becuase i checked the oil dipstick 2 days after it had been sitting at the dodge dealership and there was oil in the car and no oil leaks, i just had an oil change in march of this year (2018) so i believe my engine was burned up completely due to the alternator and a circut shortage cased the car to over heat and burn the engine, i need this to be investgated to see if this is secondary to the recall so that i can see if im responsible for the damages or not because now i need an entire new engine which is over $8,000 in costs.

Several times, the car has stalled while driving. i have had to come to a complete stop, restart the engine and it has gone away. in the last 18 months i have noticed on random occasions, when doing a left turn, it feels like the power steering is no longer working, and this only happens on left turns. finally, i have some strange electrical issues happening, sometimes my left low beam will work, other days it won't. now the sound to the speakers have stopped, and then today, i left to go to work, my car won't start, all i have is an illuminated etc light and nothing. i have tried getting dodge to look at it repeatedly, it is clearly a wiring electrical fault, they keep telling me nothing is under real, and i keep putting money after money into the car, and i think its going to get me hurt one day.

When you are driving the car at night, sometimes the headlights will go completely out, i've almost wrecked twice bc of it. i started looking online and found where in 2014 they recalled 50 sum thousand 2011 and 2012 chargers for this reason, but when i call the dealer and chrysler they tell me my car wasn't part of that recall. basically they wont pay for it. i work for a big car manufacturer and i know that if a customer complained about something that could possibly cause them to die or kill others they would fix it, all i want is it fixed before i get hurt or hurt others

When i make slow left turn i hear grinding noise. the other problem is now my engine light is on. sometimes my car smells as though it is burning after i drive it for a while and then i put it in park and turn the car off.

Recall t36: my ar cut off on me while i was driving due to the recall on the alternator and power steering. my car has been in the shop for 3 weeks and i finally got a call back today. the recall department told me i would have to pay for the repairs and then submit to them for reimbursement. i have argued about having to pay out of pocket for a recall. also they are trying to give me a alternator that still is not the permanent fix. so this alternator could still go out on me while i am driving like the first time. when the car cut off i had just gotten off the highway. thank god i was not on the highway still because the car just shut completely down. i had no power when the car shut down and i ended up running up on the curb trying to stop the car.

On the morning of 8/20 i drove 2 blocks from my house when the chattery save mode turned on accompanied by the battery light on the dash shortly after the car lost power steering and all electric components shut off and then the car shutoff and was immobile after that. i pushed the car home and the car hasn't turned over since. i disconnected the battery and used a battery charger to recharge so i can put my windows up when i reconnected the battery i put the car in run knowing the alternator was bad and pending recall. as the windows hit the closed position black smoke started coming off the alternator and i promptly disconnected the battery again completely after turning the car into off position again. the alternator continued to smoke for 5 minutes as i stared at it with fire extinguisher in hand and phone in the other with 911 dialed and ready. as the car sat in the driveway after all this i noticed a fuel smell that came from the car then i noticed a fuel leak. a constant dripping of 1or 2 drops per 5seconds. the leak comes from below the door hinges area of the passenger side rear door. i cannot find the origin but this is where it drips from. i've read that this is also a common problem but dodge or any other affiliate has recalled any fuel components and people that have changed the full fuel system tank hoses pumps everything still continue to have this issue when the vehicle is filled with gas to max capacity and the leak stops once the fuel level reaches 3/4 tanks or less.

While driving on a main thouroughfare, the engine stalled.( there was no warning that there was a problem, no warning lights were on.) the electronic throttle control warning light came on, and then all elec power went out. leaving the car without lights/flashers. upon investigation, the alternator failed, shorting out the electrical system and killing/destroying the battery. the alternator shouldn't do this. i found that dodge had a recall ( p-60) on their v-6 models for this very same issue. my car is a v-8. i was lucky i wasn't driving on a major highway or at night as the car had no way iof indicating distress to other drivers and the headlights didn't work. there is a clear defect in the alternators of these cars, its only a matter of time before someone is injured or killed.

Get in car to go to wal-mart one saturday morning the low battery light comes on and get a message that car was going to battery saving mode. drove to store got my items got back into car and all electronics just started shutting off then car started to idle and cut out made a u shape in parking lot as was afraid to get on the road for fear of it quitting in the middle of the highway. turn car off wouldn't start backup you could smell something hot under the hood. the alternator was so hot burnt hand. had to call tow truck to take to dealership for them to fix. i was lucky this happened in a parking lot and not on a road could have caused a serious accident. the cost of repair was $1, 187.75 plus it took 2 weeks for repair. this could have caused an accident or caught my car on fire.

When i was driving. battery saver mode came on and the radio turned off. i started getting service lights and engine light came on. able to get it home as i was only a block away when this started. i turned off and on the car. the car studdered to start and the a ton of error lights came on like abs, break, engine, service lights. the car studdered and the stearing wheel and break was locked. tuned out it was the alternator that died and thank god i was close to home and not going fast else i could have been in a really bad accident as everything around my house is a highway. the 3.5l engine was recalled but after looking at all the complaints about the 5.7l having the same issue. this also needs to be recalled asap before someone dies.

Received a indicator messages stating "battery save mode" while driving. once we made it to a stop, the vehicle began to struggle a bit. i drove it home. thank god i did because it would not start back up, it lost power. it appears from researching the symptoms, the alternator is not strong enough to efficiently power the vehicle. i'm glad i was not on the road driving when it shut off.

On freeway when lights on dash all started flashing. as pulling over, i lost power steering in my car and all electronics. as soon as i put it in park my car shut off. look up the p60 recall on 160amp altenator on chargers. i have the 180amp that did the exact same thing but is not covered under recall. this needs to be fixed as it can be a major hazard to me or others. all with not one indication my altenator was going out.

At night or when hid headlights are on for about 30 minutes, one of the headlights will turn off, leaving only one light on. if i stop the car and turn off the ignition and restart the car both lights will be on. also if i turn off the headlight switch for a moment and then back to the on position both headlights come back on. at first i thought i had a burnt out bulb and i took the car to firestone to get a replacement bulb, but they said both headlights work and could not duplicate the problem. i took it to a dodge dealership and they could not find a problem. this problem still occurs. neither firestone or dodge charged me anything for the check. they both said "no problem found". now dodge sent me a recall notice for an alternator problem. i wonder if this is related.

P60 / nhtsa 14v-634 is a recall that is currently not available to vehicle due to my alternator having 180 amps. please investigate the 180 amp alternators as well as it falls under the same recall reasons of the p60 / nhtsa 14v-634. i was driving home on the freeway and suddenly the lights on the dashboard started lighting up. i felt a little uneasy about why all these lights started lighting up, so i exited. as i exited, the wheel began to lock up, and before i knew it, the car had completely died. i was stuck in the middle of the road. i had no detection of the alternator failing at all and while the car was sitting in the middle of the road, i started to smell something burning. i got out of the car, and called triple a for a tow. i was relieved when i saw p60 / nhtsa 14v-634 online for a recall of my make and model, but when i got to the dealership, they had advised me that i had no recalls for any alternators. that is when i found out by calling the fca group recall assistance center that my alternator has 180 amps and the recall was only for 160 amp dodge chargers. please investigate the 180 amps. luckily, my family was not in the car with me while the alternator failed. being stuck in the middle of the road and smelling something burning in the car would be terrifying for them. *tr

3 separate vehicle shutdowns while accelerating to pass another vehicle and to override cruise control. esc and abs light came on along with "acc/fcw unavailable vehicle system error" in the evic at 30mph. seconds later all warning lights shut off, the turned back on a few seconds later and repeated constantly. power steering was 100% lost while turning, almost causing me to go into a ditch. at about 25mph, again at 35mph, and again at 40mph, my car had briefly applied the ebrake by itself, even though the ebrake was fully disengaged, and a clicking sound could be heard coming from the shifter. the speedometer drops to zero, then warning lights turn off again and speedometer goes back to normal function. brake pedal became very stiff, making it difficult to stop. when i came to a full stop at an intersection, the ebrake prevented me from accelerating, then i was able to accelerate after a couple of seconds and then my power steering went out. then the airbag light came on. after the intersection, the brake light remained on, speedometer stayed at 0, airbag light stayed on. dinging constantly, as cars normally do when you first start them ( about 1 ding a second). radio and most interior lighting shut off, headlights shut off, then came back on and started flickering, accompanied by a "battery saver mode" message on the evic. windshield wipers started moving, but very slowly. engine sounded windy, like a siren from a fire truck and engine was noticeably less powerful. burning smell from engine. once stopped, car would not restart, and almost no power to any area of the car. replaced battery, which fixed nothing. window was stuck down, so we pulled the battery and put it on a charger to see if it was charged, and put it back in the car. the battery was connected about 45 seconds, with the engine off but the car in acc mode, and alternator started smoking. 20 cel codes. *tr

(re: 2011 dodge charger, 3.6l. engine, 180amp alternator.) dodge had a recall on the 3.6 l, 160 amp. alternator. my car had the every same problem (11/20/2016) was towed to the dealership, called dodge and was told our car was not in the recall but if they recalled later they would reimburse. we believe the 180 amp alternator should also be recalled, the car shuts down completely and we were very lucky it happened at a low speed, could have been a serious accident if going high speed because there is no warning , and steering, brakes, everything is gone. the tow driver had to remove the console to get it in n to move. the bill for the repair is over a $1000.00, dodge should pay all or at least some of these bills for t heir customers
