Vehicle shift interlock latch is broken. the latch allows the vehicle to shift from gear to gear or will prevent the shifting. after researching the issue, it was learned the piece was a recall piece but according to dodge only on certain vehicles and our vehicle does not meet the standards required for recall. although dodge just simply ships the same item to various location across the world, our vehicle was built in the area that does not afford recall status; eventhough it was built with the exact same part. i was informed to put in a complaint by the dodge phone representative. i was also told our vehicle has no recall although i found 3 on this site alone. *tr

My 2007 dodge charger had a part failure in the shifter mechanism that prevented it from being moved from park. this occurred at 8 pm at night on top of a parking garage when i had my family with me. it took over an hour to locate a towing company that could get to me because of the parking garage. the dealership informed me the problem was a cheap plastic part that had been recalled on the avenger but not the charger and they had been replacing about a dozen per week. dodge should recall this part and repay the owners that have already had to make the repair. *tr

Gear shift sticks in park due to cheap plastic part designed to break but with no remedy other than full replacement of shifter. it appears to occur in large numbers if not every dodge charger years 2006-2009. *tr

Automatic door locks cycle uncontrolled to the lock position, several times a minute. auto feature works, then continues. lock mode only. *tr
