I have failed motor mounts and was told i should make a report as it is such a common issue that a recall should be issued.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled, lost power, and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. when the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it resumed normal operation. the vehicle was taken to a repair shop, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the crankshaft sensors needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the contact stated that the crankshaft sensors were replaced two times. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 06v432000 (power train). the manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
The engine cradle is completely rusted through and motor mounts as well.i took into a shop,he refused to fix my idle pulley and told us it's unsafe to drive our 2006 chrysler pacifica.
Engine cradle mount (severly rusted through). it is so bad, i can no longer safely drive this car.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. while the vehicle was undergoing state inspection, the contact was informed that the engine cradle was severely corroded. the contact was concerned that the engine could separate from the subframe due to the severe corrosion. the vehicle was not repaired. a dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 100,005. *bf*jb
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. while driving 65 mph, the contact experienced sudden engine failure without warning. the vehicle was towed to the contact's home. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and was informed that she should have the vehicle towed to a chrysler dealer. fred martin superstore (3195 barber rd, barberton, oh 44203, (330) 753-4444) diagnosed that the engine rod bearing was defective. the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 06v432000 (power train). the contact called the manufacturer back and was informed that the remedy for the recall had already been performed on the vehicle. they also informed the contact that because they found no defect with the vehicle, the recall repair was never performed. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 107,000.
I have been told that my engine cradle is rusted beyond repair and will need replacing. chrysler recalled 2004-2005 in rust belt areas to replace engine cradle. this issue affects 2004-2008 which my car is a part of. this rust issue could cause the motor to fall out from the engine cradle and cause serious safety risk
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. an independent mechanic noticed that there was extensive rust and corrosion to the point that the engine cradle could fracture. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
The front subframe is rusted threw with a fist size whole .. now i have to pay labor and buy piece chrysler refuses to help knowning the issue they cause could hurt my family an kids driving in this truck is unfar
Car engine sometimes shuts off when doing left hand turns, the engine looses complete power when this happens. i have to shift the car into park to turn it back on. there are evap codes on but the check engine does not turn on for these codes, smell of un-burnt fuel sometimes makes it in the cabin. thankfully the stall has not happened with cars coming towards me. the gas cap warning on continuously even though i have purchased many new oem gas caps. this may be related to: nhtsa campaign number: 04v113000, 06v432000, nhtsa action number: ea06013, i informed chrysler but they said my vin is not in the current recalls and was referred to contact nhtsa. my pacifica has also developed a ticking noise that has reduced the gas mileage and engine power which i believe this to be part of an internal recall which again chrysler says my vehicle is not part of even though my vin matches the specifications below: customer satisfaction notification f35 engine connecting rod bearing debris effective immediately, all repairs on involved vehicles are to be performed according to this notification. rapid response transmittal rrt #06-025 has been cancelled. models 2006 lx chrysler 300, dodge magnum and charger 2006 cs chrysler pacifica note: this notification applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 3.5l engine ('g', 'v' or '4' in the 8 th vin position) with engine build date codes from 900586 through 900766. important: those vehicles that have already had this repair performed, as determined by our warranty records, have been excluded from this notification important: some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer vehicle inventory. dealers should complete this repair on these vehicles before retail delivery. dealers should also perform this repair on vehicles in for service. involved vehicles can be determined by using the vip inquiry process.
The car stalls while in motion on an incline, making a left or right turns up an incline, and making u-turns on flat surface. the engine would just die, then i would have to put it in park and it would restart. this happened in city streets in speeds under 25mph. this has happened over a dozen times, 3 times this month. mechanic cannot fix the problem.
Took vehicle in for exhaust repair. when hoisted up the mechanic informed me of engine cradle rot. he said the drip hose is dripping onto the engine cradle. called chrysler custome assistance, they sent me to roseville chrysler in roseville, mi for inspection, under case #32879012. service advisor bryan collins told me the same thing engine cradle rot due to drip hose dripping on engine cradle. chrysler customer assistance said no recall on vehilcle and it is out of warrenty. my responsibility for repair. i explained that it was an enginering design error and the drip hose should have been long enough to route it past the engine cradle.
Wgen i put the gas pedal no runing like aspec and tge crudle is rust
The cradle break and rust and tbe power train. no work properry
Motor mounts are broke
The engine cradle is rusting out due to chryslers inability to want to fix the problem. might have to send the car to the junkyard
Took car in for routine oil change. tech came back and said that the engine is about ready to fall through due to the frame and engine cradle rusting through.
Frame rotted out under engine, garage said engine could fall out. this happened several years ago just took it in for an alignment and they told me the car wasn't safe to drive.
The cross member that supports the drive train is rusted at the joints where it meets the frame of the vehicle. this affects both steering and shifting, as the motor will actually shift on initial pull off; and because the steering is anchored on the same member, looseness in the steering wheel can also be felt. i noticed the rusting about a year ago when i went to do my first oil change as the car owner. on 9/12/2017 i was riding home and heard a metallic clank, as if something had fallen off of the vehicle. upon arriving at home, i looked under the vehicle. you can see that the cross member is rusting and twisting under the load of the engine. i am leary about driving the vehicle, but it is my only mode of transportation.
Sub frame rusted
I just purchased my vehicle a month ago and i already have engine cradle corrosion i was told the vehicle is not safe to drive and was told it can snap at any minute which can cause fatalities or serious injuries. i was also told my vehicle has no resale value because of this issue. i was driving on city expressway and streets and noticed it sounded funny driving took it in to get looked at and the mechanic explained the issue was serious
2006 pacifica with 105,000 miles. took in for service and mechanic found badly corroded engine cradle. i can peel the rust away and put my fingers in the holes and gaps in the center support tie in. in addition to stress cracks in the lh side of the engine support. dealer told me no warranty coverage, no recall. cant afford repair and car is unsafe to drive. frame rusted out after only 11 years old!! what happened to "made in america" stood for quality and being a good thing.
Car began to make loud, abrupt knocking noise from right side, passenger front of vehicle. we took it to three separate repair shops for evaluation and at all three repairs shops were told that our engine cradle was so badly rotted and rusted that the car was not drivable. it was a huge safety concern as the engine and transmission can both drop out of the vehicle at any moment without warning. this has been a known issue to chrysler and they are not assisting current owners with repair.
Engine mount/cradle has rusted through. the car doesn't have 100,000 miles yet. this issue probably started years ago and no mechanic notified me before the warranty ran out. i understand that chrysler isn't covering 2006 models even though they know this is an issue. i was told continuing to drive the car was dangerous, but this is a very costly fix - more than the car is worth - considering chrysler will not take responsibility for not coating the engine cradle to prevent this from happening. it is affecting steering and handling of car as well.
I was on freeway doing 60_70 miles per hour when i noticed my car felt like it was not accelerating and gas pedal felt stiff like when car is off. i had my whole family in car and i could of wrecked if i didn't notice in time to put car in neutral and restarted it some how before we got rear ended. i got off freeway somehow and turned car on and off again a few times and it seemed like it was a one time thing . a few miles later it did same thing and i was stalled out in middle of on coming traffic . cars braked and swerved out of my way to avoid rear ending us . my children were scared cause of this happening out of the blue. i now have no desire to even drive my car with any of my family in it incase this happens again. i contacted chrysler but they claimed my vin wasn't part of the f44 recalls but i know it is same issues...i will be taking car to chrysler first thing in morning to leave them car to find out why my family almost got in accident due to this issue. so in total it stalled out on me 6 times twice on freeway the rest on city streets just to get home ....this is a serious issue that could of killed everyone in my vehicle if i didn't react fast enough to avoid that from happening..
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated that there was premature rust and corrosion, which deteriorated the quality of the engine cradle. an independent mechanic diagnosed that the engine cradle needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure to determine if they could provide a solution and determine if the same oem part was in production or if a new manufacturer designed the engine cradle. the failure mileage was not available.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. while the vehicle was stationary, the engine cradle rotted. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 130,000.
takata recall its all rusted front subframe to much dangerous to hi way and to all motorist and the people if this subframe will collapse if drive.
While driving my car i turned on my turn signal to turn right onto the highway, and upon accelerating my check engine light beeped and turned on, then as i turned my wheel and tried to accelerate it wouldn't and then my car died. i then had my car towed to my house where it remains until i have it towed to the dealership. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. while the vehicle was undergoing routine service, the technician noticed rust on the engine cradle. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with severe engine cradle rust. the vehicle was unsafe to be driven and was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 89,000.
I have owned this 2006 chrysler pacifica fwd touring model since brand new. we live in michigan so of course there are winter issues associated with cars in general. however, this vehicle is in great condition garage kept all of its life unless driving, no surface rust, etc etc. basically a great car. i went to get the oil changed and the technician told me by the way there is a big rut hole in the sub frame and you might want to have that looked at. he also stated it looks strange because the rest of the car is in such great shape. i had new struts and tie rod installed about 2 years ago so i took it in there to have it looked at next. i was then told this is amazing, but we have seen this before on these chrysler pacificas! (red flag). they told me to check with the dealer because there is probably a recall on it. i then called the dealer to make an appointment to have it looked at. the service tech told me he knows what i am talking about and took my vin number over the phone. after a few minutes he told me there was an extended warranty for this case and unfortunately it did not cover my vin. then he suggested i call chrysler customer service to complain and see where it gets me. (nice). after speaking with chrysler and told them the story and how it basically renders my car unsafe to drive she explained to me that there was a warranty for a 6 week period in 2004 and i did not qualify. i have read numerous articles on the internet now about this problem and possible class action lawsuits. needless to say, i drive around with children in the car and this thing is a time bomb and chrysler needs to admit there is a problem and warn all current owners before someone gets injured or killed!
Rotted out engine cradle vibration when driving..no help from chrysler...cant drive car,,still paying on it...need help. *tr
My car failed inspection because my mechanic noticed it the engine cradle was rotting and had holes in it all over. so he said this is an ongoing problem with chrysler pacifica's and that they were poorly designed. to repair would cost me about $2000-2500. i feel horrible and lied to because chrysler isn't taking responsibility for this defect. that kind of money is not in my budget. i don't understand how something so important could be overlooked by chrysler.....i'm really fed up.
Engine craddle rust & crack
My engine cradle is almost rusted thru and my subframe is as well
Took car to mechanic and he noticed the motor mount subframe was completely rotted out and cracked that supports the engine weight and suspension of the car. though no incident took place yet, this issue could have had the engine fall out at any time.
The engine light came on. the car would not accelerate over 25 mph. it kept feeling as if it was stalling when stopped at light and trying to accelerate. hard to go up inclines. after being parked for 4 hours we noticed the car was smoking. i called the fire department who discovered that the insulation and the engine was smoldering. it is now at excalibur being looked at. i was driving on a city street when this happened. when we discovered the car was smoking, it had been parked for four hours.
Entered the freeway and after reaching speed of approximately 55-60 mph i heard a loud sound that sounded like a small explosion. someone driving in the lane next to me began frantically pointing at the engine of my car. immediately i saw smoke and flames coming from underneath the car's hood. i pulled off the exit that i was approaching, parked the car at the curb, jumped out the car, dialed 911. fire department responded in a couple of minutes and by this time entire engine and hood was on fire.they put the fire out. car was not able to be placed in neutral or any other gear, but was still towed to the dealership that performed repairs to fuel injectors and other components of the engine on february 2, 2016. during feb. 2016 incident the gas pedal would not give power to make the car accelerate, car started smoking and giving off fumes that smelled like burning plastic. car repairs were made in that incident. going to have diagnostic performed to research if there is a connection/relation between february 2016 incident and june 2016 incident.
The engine cradle is rusted out making this car extremely unsafe to drive. this car has been maintained throughout its life and is in excellent shape otherwise. however, the cost to replace the cradle has been quoted at $2500.00.
My vehicle stalls when remaining still, or if driving it will just shut off. turning left around a round about it will shut off. recently when stopped it will idle high then sputter as if it wants to shut off, sometimes it does. i know there has been a recall for vehicles made up to the date november 2004. mine was manufactured may 2005, should that make a difference even though mine was manufactured one year later and still can have the same problem? just a note, i have young kids in my car. another problem is the engine, in researching i notices that there have been a lot of complaints about rusting engine mounts or breaking of engine mounts. as may complaints that i have read, i believe that there should be a recall. i have an engine mount that is rusted and worn out. for the safety of all the 900 and something complaints in forums, i believe this should be fixed. i also believe that my 2006 pacifica should be in the stalling recall notice and be fixed also. one year apart should not be judged in a issues. this happens a lot an many dates, but i can only put one.
When we bought the car not 11 months ago we were never told about any structural damage. a week ago we noticed a bad thumping as we were driving, so we took it to a car shop and that's when they found over 4 inches of rust on both sides of the engine cradle and they told us it was unsafe to drive.
The engine mounts have broken, and been replaced, and broke again. the floorboard, has rusted through on the drivers side, and the frame is rusting out. the suspension is breaking and has now blow out 2 tires. the electrical panel /dash, doesn't work and causes other problems. i don't live by salt water and have been informed that this is not a new problem with this make/model. gas fumes come up through the floorboard, and i have been dealing with this since i took it off of the dealership. i am a single mom of 3,and am not finding help from anyone. can you please help me?
I had taken my car in a week ago for an issue with the car making like a popping sound when i turn hard. well after mechanic drove it and then put it on a rack to take a look underneath and do their inspection they told us we cannot drive vehicle as it is unsafe. the cradle was completely rusted and i could stick my hand in it. at any point in time it could have completely fell off and wrecked my vehicle. it could have been catastrophic. this is dangerous and chrysler is aware of the issue but refuses to do anything about it. now we are going to be stuck with the repair bill. i called chrysler and spoke with an agent named brittney whose only response was i am sorry there is nothing we can do. even after explaining any type of accident with my children in the car could have been catastrophic. they do not care. something needs to be done to cover all vehicles. i only have 75,000 miles on the vehicle and the cradle is the only part rusted. chrysler does not care about any of that just that the vehicle does not fall within the 2004 or 2005 range. please help something needs to be done before someone loses their life over this issue.
The front member of the car has rotted away. this is very dangerous and can cause the engine to fall out.
Went in for an oil change and found out the subframe on the vehicle was rusted out. took it to my mechanic. after researching i have found many posts on this happening to many people with this make and model. please check into this issue, it seems that something is not right with this part of the vehicle. the car is in perfect shape no rust or corrosion anywhere else on the vehicle.
The engine cradle is rusting through. the engine could fall out to the ground. i noticed this around the 12th of february 2016.
I brought my pacifica in for servicing, and was told that my engine cradle is rotting away. they said it was unsafe to drive. fda said they won't help by fixing it.
This vehicle had a recall from chrysler. i was given a claim #[xxx] and when i spoke to chrysler i was told that our vin # was not covered due to the fact that they themselves had ended the recalled vehicles 2 weeks before ours was produced. that is absolutely ridiculous as our vehicle suffered the exact same problems as they all did 2 weeks earlier!!! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
2006 chrysler pacifica was deemed unsafe to drive on 12/12/15 upon taking car in for an oil change. mechanic stated that subframe is rusted and has a 6 inch hole meaning that the engine could fall off the car. i do know that there was a problem with 2004 and 2005 models and didn't expect to hear the news on my 2006 model.
Engine cardle ( subframe) was rusted out and mechanice suggested its nor safe to drive. according to mechanics and complains fieled on this web site its a common issue with this vehicls and it will caus crashes soon.
