While turning into the bank parking lot at 10mph the car just stalled. i was unable to brake or steer out the way. when gas gauge reads empty i am unable to fill the tank with gas as it begins to spill back out. gas gauge reads 1/2 full when it is really empty? miles to empty sensor incorrect therefore i have no idea when i need gas. driver side exterior headlamp seems dimmer than the other lamp. after repairing the entire front end(suspension) still sounds like the front end is going to fall apart when driving on ohio roads. felt it was necessary to document as i do not feel safe in this car. *tr

vehicle occasionally stalls when making a left turn. a popping sound occurs when turning to the left, the sound seems to be coming from the left tire hub. also there is a clicking sound when the transmission shifts gears. *tr please send me any information regarding recalls for these problems,as i am a single mother who transports small children daily in this vehicle, with limited resources.

When i initially purchased my vehicle, 2005 chrysler pacifica, from genesis auto sales located at 1005 springdale rd in austin, tx. 78721 there was noise by the front left tire. after bringing this to the companies attention they agreed to fix it. the kept the vehicle about a week. the day i picked it up my father looked it over and found duct tape on the part, cv joint. i took the vehicle back and also mentioned the horn also went out. the company agreed to fix this again as well as perform my inspection as the sticker had expired. the car was kept another 2 weeks. when the vehicle was picked up for a second time the car began overheating. at this time my father and mechanic looked it over and found a busted hose, but they noted that the cv joint was duct taped again this time covered in grease. he also noted missing lug nuts on all tires. i brought this up to the company again who refused to listen. i filed a complaint with dmv, bbb, oag, ftc and dps. dps sent out an investigator who took pics as well and also noted that the tint on the vehicle was illegal and that not only were lug nuts missing but the lug bolts were broken off. all this as well as the motor mount have since been replaced. the bolts holding the cv joint and motor mount were also found not to be the proper size. on 12/24/11 as i was driving my seat belt became unbolted from the vehicle. i was able to place it back in where it came from but it is not secure. the company refuses to help with these problems and i will be pursuing legal action as all problems with the vehicle have been safety hazards and i am now unable to drive the vehicle for fear myself or my family will be injured as im not sure all problems have been fixed as different noises still occur. *tr

This is in regards to a 2004-2005 awd chrysler pacifica. there is tsb 21-020-05 out on the transfer case (ptu). this vehicle had approximately 40,000 miles on it when the problems started occurring. chrysler recommends replacing the ptu if making noise. chrysler was contacted on this problem by the consumer, and was denied any assistance in repairing this problem. they site it as normal 'wear and tear' of a vehicle. with such low mileage on a major component on a vehicle, this seemed to be an easy way out for chrysler to pass this problem off to the consumer. chrysler also states that unless you are the original owner, the 75,000 mile warranty is void. considering how many vehicles are on a lease, this would be a very large number. this leaves many people in an unsafe condition that chrysler has shrugged off. there are 767 posts on www.edmunds.com regarding this situation with other pacifica owners. not to mention those that have not posted anything on this, and have just accepted that chrysler will not stand behind their defective product. this part is integral to the power train system, and overall drivability of the vehicle. at any time, a vehicle can become inoperable and may cause an accident resulting in injury or death. this vehicle became inoperable crossing the middle of a busy highway as the transmission/ptu suddenly became inoperable. the consequences could have been very catastrophic as other vehicles could have suddenly run into this inoperable vehicle. to correct the failure, a new ptu unit needs to be installed that has the deficiency that chrysler admits is there, to be replaced. these repairs can exceed $2000. the old part is available. *tr

I own a 2005 chrysler pacifica and it is stuck in park, and has been for a week now. it will start up, and you can hear the shifter click when you step on the brake, but you cannot move the shifter stick to put it in another gear. it will go over to park, but cannot get the shifter to come down to put it in gear. i have told the chrysler company about the defect, but they are not willing to do anything about it. i have went online and read numerous complaints about chrysler vehicles getting stuck in park, and people are manually going under the hood to pull the brake out of park. this is a safety feature that in order to move the vehicle, you have to have your foot on the brake to put it in gear. without this safety feature in place, a vehicle could roll into the street, or if a child is left alone in the vehicle, they could easily put it in gear. this is dangerous because i am more than sure, people are not taking the vehicle to a dealer to have this safety feature put back in place, once they get it unstuck. people have been stranded because their vehicle got stuck in park. this is something that should have a recall and chrysler needs to fix this problem. to see the complaints, google this ' my chrysler is stuck in park. *tr

Problem #1: abs light comes on. when brake is pushed down, grinding noise starts, and brake does not slow car down properly. occurs daily, multiple times. came within inches of crashing into people, property, multiple times. mechanic says it's wheel speed sensor & expensive to fix. we do not have the money. problem #2: gas pedal sticks. when changing car from park to drive, gas pedal will not go down. you have to press on gas hard, thus sending the car rapidly forward or backwards, just to get it to go. happens daily, every time i change it from park to drive. problem #3: power steering locks up while making a turn. while making a left hand turn at an intersection, power steering locked up and could not turn the car, when i hit brakes to stop, they did not work properly either, almost sending my children & myself over an embankment. this has happened 4 times in last 3 months. car has been looked at 3 times, with a diagnostic ran on it each time. response is that car is unsafe to drive, park it and never get behind the wheel again, is what i have heard from all 3 mechanics. would love to park it & save my family from harm, but it's necessary to have a car where i live, and we have no extra money to buy a new car, so there's no options. cost to repair is already at over $800. *tr

I purchased my car in 2008 and the dealer (sheehy ford) won't even take it back. the engine light stays on and it won't pass inspection. i had to replace the obd connector and it still wouldn't pass inspection. took it back to the inspection station and it failed because of the oxygen sensor, replaced that and took it back for the 3rd time and it failed again because the machine read: monitors not ready. i'm starting to think that the power train and the engine are faulty on my vehicle. sheehy knew they sold me a lemon, i've tried to have them resolve this issue numerous times and nothing. i want them to either fix the problem or give me another car. i reported them to the bbb as well and they never responded to bbb on my complaint. that looks so suspect in my eyes. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently jerk forward followed by a knocking noise from the front and bottom of the vehicle. the contact had not taken the vehicle for diagnostic testing. both dealer and manufacturer were made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was not available.

When shifting from park to drive or reverse the gas pedal is pressed and appears to "stick" . when pressed with more force the automobile "lurches" quickly either forward or backward depending on which gear has been selected. this is occurring on a daily basis. i will be making an appointment with the dealer. no injuries or damage have occurred as of yet, but the potential is there. *tr

The transmission goes into neutral when cold or braking. this keeps re-occurring. *tr

Vehicle has complete maintenance records since purchased from dealer. vehicle goes into neutral when braking and making u turn. chrysler dealership admitted to being a common problem yet defective transmission has not been recalled. therefore, my wife and i refuse to pay to have vehicle repaired for a manufactures defect. the company should be held accountable and responsible for correcting such issue to prevent the possibility of death to a us citizen. *tr

I have a 2005 chrysler pacifica with 3.8 liter engine with broken motor mounts. these cannot be fixed/replaced because the parts are not available from the manufacturer or any parts supplier. when i ordered the parts in january 2009, there were already 3500 on backorder with no due in date. as of 4 may 2009, chrysler can still not provide the parts nor a due in date. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated when attempting to turn left the vehicle stalled and shut off, after several attempts she was able to restart the vehicle and regain normal driving functions. a week later the vehicle stalled and shut off with out warning. upon further investigation the contact was able to determine that the failure was related to campaign 06v432000, power train automatic transmission control module tcm, pcm. the dealer was notified; however, they stated that her vin was not a part of the recall. the manufacturer also confirmed that the vin was not a part of the recall. no repairs have been made. the failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 91,000.

First noticed gas gage suddenly dropped from 3/4 tank to empty, low fuel warning and check engine light came on. fuel gage would again rise up to full then drop to empty. called dealer who asked for my vin number and told me my car was not subject to recall. gas gage is no longer functioning at all & i have no idea how much gas i have in my tank - i'm unable at this point to afford the repair. new problem has arisen, yesterday and today my car has stalled, causing me to engage park and restart my engine. first time i was going up a small hill and this morning i was maneuvering around a round about. seems very similar to other reports on this particular model and those who have registered a complaint. *tr

I recently(last week) had transmission service along with power transfer unit fluid change and awd service on my 05 chrysler pacifica (limited). it has 50+ k miles on it. day after this service (done at chrysler dealer), my truck stalled while taking turn to right at low speed. i had to stop completely and restart the engine. never had problem after that so far. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. while driving approximately 30 mph, the driver side headlight stopped functioning. the bulb had been replaced five times. also, while driving, the vehicle jerked forward and the transmission would slip into gears. the vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 54,000 and the current mileage was 86,584.

I purchased a 2005 chrysler pacifica in 2007 and it had 25,000 miles on it. when the vehicle had 39,000 miles on it i started having issues with the transmission. while driving, the check engine light came on and the car would get stuck in gear (stuck between 1st and 2nd gears). after i shut the car off and restarted it, i could drive it by using the tiptronic shifting system (manually shifting gears). the problem is a sensor on the transmission that costs over $2000 between parts and labor. at 72,000 miles i had to replace the catalytic converter and the front end components i.e control arms, tie rods, etc. after contacting chrysler about the catalytic converter which has a gov't mandated warranty of 80,000 mile warranty, they did give me the money i spent on the catalytic converter part only). well, the chrysler now has 104,000 miles on it and it needs another catalytic converter and all the front end parts that were previously repaired need to be replaced again! that is insane! i looked on the internet and chrysler knows this is a huge issue because their are companies selling this front end repair kit. but since i need the car i guess i have to eat these costs yet again. at 68,000 i replaced a hdmi headlight that costs over $160.00 per bulb. soon after i began to smell something burning, and the new head light burned out. i had to replace the bulb again at an additional $160.00 and this little silver box that the light sits in for $80.00. now at 104,00 miles both parts need to be replaced again, and according to chrysler dealer, this issue has nothing to do with electrical harness, it is not under warranty, and i have to eat this cost too. in my opinion the tickets are cheaper than the part. many of the chrysler dealers do not try to help diagnose problem and they remind me everything is out of warranty - great job! *tr

Motor mounts cracked 23,000 miles,cv joints bad,air compressor bad, belts squeal and chirping, engine stalls on take off, engine shut off on highway while driving dangerous, brakes failed, abs sensors bad front right and left. transmission failure. headlights go out when signal light is on. *tr

I own a 2005 chrysler pacifica which was manufactured, according to my dealership on june 16, 2005. i had brought the car into the dealership 11/06 because of a seat belt problem and when i was there they told me there was a recall and that they were going to take care of it. recall f-44. i had not had any problems with the fuel pump prior to that. this week my car stalled twice. once when turning left, once when turning right. car was able to start up again. i brought it to the dealership (chrysler jeep of white plains at 70 westchester ave., white plains, ny 10601 phone: 914-946-3544). they told me i needed 2 new fuel pumps and it would cost $1210 and it was not under warranty and there was no recall notice. i did my research and found the f-44 recall online which states a fuel pump problem. i have spent the last 2 days talking to the dealership (which has my car) and daimler-chrysler regarding the problem. the headquarters first told me my pump problem was part of the recall and that the dealership had to replace the pumps free of charge. but when the dealership talked to them they told hq that they had been directed to change the fuel pumps only on certain 2005 pacificas. only on ones manufactured within a certain date. they said on my 2005 pacifica they only had to reprogram the pcm. i, as a consumer, see it that one recall was made and it was made because of a fuel pump problem which would cause a car to stall. i am having those problems. the dealership is telling me that they were actually 2 recalls - one for the fuel pump and one to reprogram. i do not see it that way - there was only 1 recall and it was for the problems i am having. they are making me pay $1210+ for a problem that was the reason for the recall in the first place !!!!! *tr
