On january 28, 2013 i had my vehicle checked for warranty repairs. at that time i was advised that the front and rear engine mounts were bad along with struts. also at that time i was called back to the service area by mechanic. he proceeded to show me that the engine cradle was rusting out and showed me various places where it had in fact rusted through. i was told that this is a major safety concern. i was given a quote of $1612.05 to repair this. due to limited finances i have only been able to have the warranty work repaired. at the time i believed this to be an isolated incident. i have researched several other problems with this vehicle and have realized that this is not an isolated incident. i contacted chrysler about an extended warranty for this problem and was informed that the warranty only covered those built between february and march of 2004. my vehicle has a build date of january 22, 2004. i believe this should be looked into more closely at all those built in 2004. *tr

The vehicle was being driven when suddenly smoke starts coming from the engine compartment pulled over to check under the hood and flames began coming out closed the hood and the vehicle just burned down to the ground called 911 firefighter came and put out the fire it was all so fast its unreal. *tr

Driving around 40 the vehicle started to shake. i thought maybe a wheel bearing or tie rod was the issue. upon taking it to the shop to get checked i was told that the engine cradle was rusted to the point of almost failing. i am currently having the cradle replaced. had that occurred at a higher speed i hat to think what may have happened. i called chrysler and was told there is a replacement program for vehicles built between feb 23rd and mar31st 2004. because my vehicle was built january 23rd 2004 it was not covered and i received no letter. despite the fact i was driving a vehicle with the same problem in a very dangerous state. there should be a nationwide safety recall. *tr

Vehicle was took off of the driveway and few seconds later oil from engine came to be spilled off from bottom of engine, vehicle was took to mechanic and it was revised, problem looks to be that oil was coming off the motor from oil filter gasket; though something was wrong with filter gasket, oil filter was replaced with new one and new oil was placed at engine, when motor was started up it was noticed that oil pressure was contained into the oil filter and it causes the new filter to blew out; mechanic was confused at the moment; need to mention that i have took the vehicle to this specialized mechanic shop since 2 years ago and we have never noticed something similar. after spending few hours reviewing the vehicle motor it was noticed that the spring that goes into the oil pressure relief valve was broke. not really know how this spring crack, all oil services have been made to the motor every 3000 miles and vehicle had all services per the maintenance manual. this defective spring causes that vehicle drains all engine oil from filter, luckily it happened close home and to mechanic shop and not at highway, other way i could be ended with a total wreck engine. no warning light when on, it came on until all oil was totally drained from engine. hope this can be addressed to chrysler, i do not want it happen to another person and it causes a major damage to engine. *tr

My 2004 chrysler pacifia has had many issues but the one that i am most concerned about is the rusted, corrosion of the engine cradle, sub frame. it is so rusted that i was told my engine may fall out. went to several junk yards to find part and all the ones i looked at have the same thing wrong with them. they are rusted out and cant be used. something wrong here. please recall these. *js

Rusted engine cradle / subframe. many near missed accidents. it's so bad i had to stop using the car. forced to buy another vehicle because chrysler customer care said they won't repair it. ongoing for 2 years now. *tr

After replacing a both motor mounts in july of 2012. they broke again in november 2012!! this time it was so bad that when i turned the corner the engine died and would not start back up. eventually after trying to turn it over so many time the battery died. we had to have it towed to the shop after the holidays to find out how much it would cost to fix ($1200) and exactly what the issue was. the tech informed me that besides the mounts being broke, when i turned the corner the engine lifted and cut thru all of the wires leading to the failure of the car's power control module. this resulted in a loss of speedometer, other electrical functions, and the loss of three ignition coils. i just want to know why they keep making "rubber" engine mounts if the[xxx] things are useless in the first place? there has to be a reason all these cars are having the same issue and if i had known about this before i financed this "pos", i would never have put my childrens lives in danger.!! i had the car fixed and everything was going fine until last night, once again! i was driving on the highway and some stupid person slammed on her brakes in front of me so i hit mine and when i did my car lunged forward and i heard the god awful "pop" sound again!!! now i am back to square one and within a years time this car will have had 3 sets of motor mounts put on it. someone please tell me there is not a defect somewhere, because whoever handles these issues at daimler/chrysler needs to drive one of these cars for themselves and see what we have been dealing with for so long. also, another issue is the check engine light and it has to do with a very small leak inside the gas tank. i have been told this is a recall, but have not been able to get anyone to fix it. i just want some answers, more so for my kids sake so i can try and get it fixed completely or a new car so they are out of harms way. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

In going to mechanic to get oil change. i was notified that subframe was rusted out and car is very dangerous to be driven. i have yet to contact dealership but on doing a search on line i found this to be a major issue with this car. i live in the suburbs of chicago. *tr

The motor mounts on this vehicle have been replaced multiple times. 3 at a time. there are only 4 of them. i was not aware that it was a common issue on these cars subsequent research has shown that it is very common. it does present a safety risk.

We had our 2004 chrysler pacifica looked over by a mechanic around march of 2012 because our teenage daughter got her drivers permit. we wanted to make sure that the car was safe for her to drive. he looked over the car and told us that we should start thinking about replacing the engine cradle. he said that engine cradles in the chrysler pacifica were known for corrosion. we continued to due our normal maintenance on the car and as of today we are not able to drive the car until we get the engine cradle fixed. the car is not safe to drive and it only has 107,000 miles. this is very expensive to fix. i did research online and discovered that chrysler group llc pacifica's front engine cradles warranty has been extended to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first in 2004 - 2005 model years. i called chrysler customer service and read them off my vin # and they said it was not covered. i asked why and was told recalls are based off of vin # not what was printed in the letter. i asked to speak to a supervisor and they would not give connect me to one but would have one call me back. i called back and filed a complaint with chrysler customer service on 2/19/14. we work very hard for our money and to have chrysler not cover our car is upsetting. this is a safety issue and i it is being ignored. *tr

When i accelerate from a stop (at a red light to green) and "go" before i reach 10mph.. the car suddenly pauses and shakes (as though it's shifting in gear and gets stuck in a low gear) and is not smooth but shakes the whole car. *tr also, on the highway....the car would suddenly go into low gear...and (again, i don't have stick shift) i press the accelerator and i can hear the engine burning.... cause i can't go over 25 mph. so i have to pull over and turn the engine off and turn it back on. another issue is the front bumper has a silver plate at the corners of the front car. i have replaced it 3 times cause it falls off....so annoying!!!!!!!! worse than a wheel rim plate falling off. *tr

On numerous occasions i will be driving my car and it will just stall out completely. i have no control over my car. there is no inclination that it is even going to happen. i have almost wrecked my car. at higher speeds my car jerks and stutters and will randomly shut off too. i will be stopping to make a right or left turn and my car will stall out and i have almost wrecked my car with my four children in the car!!!!!!! i see there is a recall on some chrysler pacifica's for this exact problem, but for some reason it is not on mine and it is a major issue!!! i am very concerned with my family's safety when driving my car.

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 chrysler pacifica. the contacted stated that a private mechanic confirmed there was a hole in the engine cradle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 108,000 and the current mileage was 118,000.

Starting in 2011 my pacifica's electrical systems seem to be shutting down. first i lost the ability to open windows or use power locks on the passenger side. next i lost the cruise control function. now my check engine light appears intermittently. most recently the air bag light and alarm comes on but only intermittently. *js

The engine and transmission mounts on all chrysler pacifica models are putting the public at risk...the failure rate for these vehicle components is astronomical and repetitive after repairs. the failure of the engine and transmission mounts can cause additional failures that also put the public at risk...this includes: --ground wire fatigue and failure causing a multitude of unexpected electrical problems and vehicle shut down --damage to vehicle wiring harness to the powertrain control module, again causing a myriad of unexpected electrical problems and vehicle shut down --cooling system failure...engine movement causes upper radiator hose to disconnect compromising the cooling system and contributing to environmental contamination when the engine coolant is released. i know that this has been reported previously and it is appalling to realize that no action has been effected by this oversight arm. chrysler needs to be held accountable for their poor design and quality standards and find an effective solution to this issue that has affected every pacifica manufactured. i look forward to your response... *tr

I have had this car for six years bought it used. i have had the front motor mounts replaced four different times. if i turn sharp they break. the first two times the warranty covered them. i think this is a recall issue and chrysler should be liable for repair charges. i just pray no one gets killed before they investigate the seriousness of this just like toyota. *tr
