I bought my 2004 chrys. pacifica 2 months ago from a carlot. i test drove it and it was driving really good. i paid for it and pulled off the lot and it started trying to stall on my everytime i pushed the gas it would do it then stop for about a min then start again. it would jerk as it was trying to stall i finally made it home and called the carlot and they said to take it to their car shop so on my way there i stopped at autozone and hooked it up to their computer to see what it was that was messing up. the computer "said" it was the crank sensor. so we took it to the shop and they changed the crank sensor and the motor light went off and it stopped doing it. they had it for a week and that next friday when i got it back i drove it to pay a couple bills and it started it again it did it about 12 times until it finally stalled and would start back up but stall right away until it would not even start again. i left it in that spot and my husband come and picked me and my 3 kids up and the next day the shop said to bring it back to them and my husband went to pick it up and take it to the shop and it started right up and drove home no problem but the check engine light was still on then drove it to the shop and it done it 2 more times. the shop had it for another week and changed the crank sensor again and found out the motor mount was broke to and fixed that. i got the car back again and had it for 2 days and it started doing it again. took it to another shop and the shop said that it could be all the wiring harness and said it would cost me 3,000!!!!!!!! to fix i can not afford that so here i am only 2 months from buying a 10,000 dollar car that i can not drive this is terrible and something needs to be done about this happening to the same kind of cars all the time i am a mother of 3 and going to school and working i need my ...
Chrysler pacifica engine mounts failure and no replacements available. engine mounts have failed 3 times in 120,000 miles, but now they can't be replaced. no aftermarkets available and chrysler is on a "4 month national backorder". my mechanic confirms a design failure, but no alternatives. every pacifica he knows has an engine mount failure with no options for repair. *tr
Radio gone out in a 04 chrysler pacifica. *tr
Vehicle was making a clunking noise at acceleration, vehicle was also making noises that sounded like the shocks needed to be replaced. dealership told me that the both lower control arms were broken and needed to be replaced along with the front and rear motor mounts. after this was done 2 days later vehicle check engine light came on dealership has told me that the emission pump and solenoid has failed - the emission pump was just replaced in november 2007. from reviewing the website it looks like chrylser needs to take responsibility for service. i have asked them for all of my parts that they are removing from my vehicle since i no longer trust the dealership and will be looking for an outside mechanic to service my car. mg *tr
On oct 20,2006 my third (emission failure) has happened to my chrysler pacifica 2004 fwd model (48,535 miles). this model had problems in the past-most have been corrected. the first was engine stalling, which was repaired with updated software. the next was my a/c control/hvac unit which would not light, noise from bushings was replaced. flickering of dash lights time to time is an issue-the current major problem is that it will not pass emissions on three occasions it has failed next visit will be to the dealer on oct 30,2006- nys inspector/mechanic has told me that the pc in albany in nys may not read all codes all places show -oxygen sensor and cat sensor as being down and not ready on the print report-third mechanic thinks it is under warranty which si should be and that it may be the ecm or bus section of the module-this is based on a scan test and a obd2 system. failures = 3 nys inspection fails -4th will be at the dealership-consequences hoping to get it repaired as soon as possible. *nm
My 2004 pacifica will not start at times. sometimes 2 weeks can go by without incident, but then the car will not start until i hold my foot on the gas. the dealer claims that unless it happens while at their shop, they cannot do anything. also, the drivers side memory mirror will change position and make a sound like gears trying to engage but cannot. again, the dealer could not find a problem although it happens each time i use it. i complained about the transmission being sluggish from a parked position, they told me they could not find a problem. i asked them to drive it. they claim the motor mount was broken. they said it happened because of a fender bender i was in. the fender bender occurred two months after purchasing the car and i have been driving it two years since that event without problem. my headliner keeps sagging where the headliner meets the moonroof. they have fixed it now three times each time using sticky tape. it doesn't work. *jb

Driving road speed, the 2004 pacifica with gauge reading "150 miles to empty" stalls and the gauge read "38 miles to empty". cannot restart but upon adding 2.5 gal of gas, started again. stalling occurred at least 5x within a week. dealer installed solenoid 8059043 and body control module (bcm) but did not correct the problem. *jb
This vehicle has had the siphoning hoses to the gas tank replaced three times. which all three failed all three times. the fuel pump has been changed. the whole fuel tank has been replaced. the gas gauge fluctuates from half tank to empty. the check engine light comes on every week. after resetting by the serviceman it comes back on with in a week. all of these safety defects have been repaired however it remains doing all of the above leaving this vehicle to be very unsafe. please note this so that any others may have this to refer to. *tr
Our 2004 chrysler pacifica sometimes will not start and when is does sometimes it dies when you are driving it down the road. the dealership and chrysler tells me unless the problem happens for the garage they can not fix it. even if that means at some point in time it dies and we crash. *nm
2004 chrysler pacifica. consumer states several problems with vehicle related to the engine, air conditioner blower and alternator *tgw the consumer stated when the vehicle was first purchased, the air conditioner blower was not working properly and had to be replaced. later that year, there was a whining sound coming from the front of the vehicle near the engine, however the dealer was unable to find the source and to this day, the noise is still present. the consumer stated there was a whining sound coming from or near the power steering pump which was eventually replaced, however the noise continued. the motor mounts, tie rods and rocker arms were replaced. *jb
There has been no accident for me but i am sure if you search you can find this problem. the windshield wipers freezes up when the weather is very cold and wet. the defroster does nothing to help keep the wipers in good working order. *jb
Leased pacifica 7-2004. by 11-2004 9000 miles started makeing loud popping sounds from front end. dealer tryed to concel problem with pto unit that they knew was faulty, after taking car home, on a we had to order new part they let me drive this car with no repairs made at that time. 2 weeks later we contacted the service director and he reveled the problem and part was replaced. now in may 2005 it is making loud thumps in the front end when decelrating and acelerating car is at the dealership at this time. one other problem was water on passenger side floor they had not sealed a tube properly at time of manufacture.
Air conditioner makes hissing sound every few seconds. door seals were not fitted properly, let water leak into car. seat module failed after only a couple of weeks.*ak
My 2004 pacifica was one of the first manufactured. it has had a recall already on the fuel line. the ac works sporadically. the ac panel blacks out and the unit ceases to work. it leaks into the front passenger's floor. it has a flaw in the design and collects leaves in the ac filter which costs 78.00 to clean. and to think i traded a new cadillac for this vehicle because i thought i would be safer.... *la
