Problems with 2015 Chrysler 200 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

This car continues to cutoff while i'm driving

Have had vehicle approx 1 yr. while driving 45mph on city street check engine came on with engine overheat msg and engine cooling sensor as well. replaced sensor and while driving the next day on highway at 70 mph to see if the system readjusts itself to the new sensor message came on again with added service elecrtrical throttle control msg and check engine lights again. i was near oreill and it produced codes for thermostat, cooling sensor, system performance, etc. messages are not on screen now but check engine lights still on. i believe it triggers when cooling temp reaches appx, 189 f. after doing some research many others are experiencing these issues and seems the problem escalates to much worse such as shutting off while driving. no recalls thus far but many people anticipating someone needing to die before something is done. i drive with my children almost all of the time and am very concerned.

As i'm driving down the road the engine shuts off and steering wheel locks and brake light comes on and i have to slowly stops and wait there to start the car sometimes i have to jump the car in order to start and then its ok for some time.

Vehicle stalls and cut-off whenever i stop on the highway, stop signs or pulling out from a stop sign.

Vehicle keeps overheating and shutting off by itself while in motion on the highway. first i was told it was the thermostat malfunctioning and now a converter. the car stalls and shuts off with the inability of restarting. started happening four mths ago.

While driving, the car seizes. it happened at 3,500 miles (dealership stated blown fuse) and again at 12,500 miles. i am driving and the car stops and the dashboard lights up. it is a sudden stop and will cause a crash and injuries. i will not get back into that car! both times, it was at 25 miles per hour, just starting back after a stop sign.

When i am driving, the car will shut itself off and give me a message saying that the fobs have left the vehicle when they haven't. at times, i also get a message telling me the key fob was not detected when trying to get in and/or start the car. the fobs batteries have been replaced and a local dealer cannot find/duplicate the issue.

The car stalling out and not it keeps coming up service electronic throttle control the vehicle will stall and it will restart and the car is now not getting real warm

Car stalling out while driving. stalled 4 times 12/10/17 then was driving rough, as i was going down the street the red lighting bolt came on along with the check engine light, parking light, traction control light. went to the gas station to put gas in, started car and the car would not go into drive. it took around 8-10 minutes to get the car to go into drive. there was all kinds of warnings going across the screen saying electrical malfunction service immediately and transmission malfunction service immediately. so i take the car in and the tcm is needing replaced and the engine may need replaced. this is not ok for a 2015 car to have this many problems.

The vehicle has begun throwing an error message that the engine is running hot and the electronic throttle control needs serviced. the vehicle is running fine and does not appear to be running hot. the lights go off when the car is stopped and come back on about 20 minutes into the next trip. the dealer stated this was not covered under warranty and quoted almost $700 to replace the sensors. we have had the vehicle less than one year (2nd owner) and just rolled over 60,000 miles.

S55 recall concern: i feel completely unsafe in this vehicle!! i bought the vehicle in october 2017 starting in late november early december 2017 the vehicle started shutting off by itself when i am driving it shifts to neutral by itself and completely dies. it happens randomly when i am braking or accelerating. this happens at least every 3-6 miles i drive and i have to drive alot working an hour away. this is very scary especially when you are turning in the middle of an intersection and it just stops. sometimes it gives warnings by lighting up random lights like slippery road, the check engine light, and sputters so i can anticipate it since it happens all the time!!! i am being told that it is because the vehicle is due for an oil change even though i am not over, i use full synthetic done by the dealership, and this is a safety feature for the vehicle but to me this is no safety feature if anything it is a death trap waiting to happen. i have had this vehicle less than 6 months and i am afraid to ride around with my child in it not knowing what will happen. in fact i go out of my way to go around intersections or dangerous expressways because i am afraid it will stop with her in the car. please help!

Within the last week, my car has turned off twice while driving it. the first time i was going downhill on an s-curve and the engine turned off and a message appeared on my dashboard to put the car in park and start. the second time i was in stop and go traffic and the car just suddenly turned off and the same message appeared. i was stuck in the middle of the road and had to throw it in park while other cars were trying to go around me while i tried to restart it. when it did restart it, the check engine light was on and it also had a flashing lightning bolt. i was going to go get the check engine light checked the following day, but when i turned my car on in the morning, the check engine light was gone.

My airbag light has came on after having my oil changed and it won't go off 5/6/2017. then yesterday 11/6/2017 my car would not start because my battery was dead but i just purchased the car used in march and the battery should be dead after 2 years. my check engine light ended up coming on after having aaa jump start my vehicle and i'm just having issues that i shouldn't be experiencing and i'd think my airbag should still be covered under warranty.

Car purchased 10/21/2016, 3 months later problems began. 01/16/2016 service air bag light came on and will not go off. dealer said it is not covered under my extended warranty, for what reason i still don't know. taken the car to 3 different shops to work on it and i keep being told it is a passenger seat connector, yet i have had this done 3 times now...$500 out of pocket each time, the light is still on as of 11/10/2017. now the car also has a service engine light on constantly along with this airbag light. as well as of 10/25/2017 my car has began to tell me the engine is running hot while i'm driving, but the thermostat display inside never even gets to half.. so not sure about this now. as well as also telling me to service the electronic throttle control as soon as the overheat sensor goes off. lastly i was at the gas station the other day and the car wouldn't start, it said the keyfob not detected but it was in my hand! had to google what to do..(which is put nose of keyfob to button and press it that way if happens to anybody else) soo that would be a total of 4 different lights on at this time of 11/10/2017. enterprise has yet to help me or get back to me on any of these issues. it was a rental car before i bought it from them, obviously they sold me a lemon! as i was getting an oil change on 11/01/17 i had them run codes and it and it read i needed a new thermostat to take care of the engine overheating and the etc light...needless to say this has been a car from hell. i have filed complaints to enterprise about this car repeatedly especially with it all happening so soon after getting the car. i'm stuck with it now so i would love for somebody to know what there doing and actually fix this car!!!

Immediately after recall work was done i experience issues. when i try to start my car (push to start requires you to push the break and push the button) break peddle won't depress, service transmission lights comes on. i call a tow truck and get it dropped off at the closet dealership. i arrive behind the tow truck and watch it be dropped off explain to service adviser whats going on and i just had recall work done and that is when the issues started. immediately without even looking at my car or knowing what car is mine she says no its not related to the recall. she is not a technician and doesn't actually know the cause yet. they call later in the day and tell me the body control module has shorted out and needs to be replaced. it is no longer communicating with the tcm(the tcm was updated during recall work but the bcm was not.) the two can longer communicate because they are now basically speaking a different language. of course i am told not related to recall. the next day i get a call saying my battery that was previously working great can no longer pass a test. someone was trying to crank and start my car( the car that went in for a break peddle that would not depress and would not start) i now need to pay for a new battery and there is an installation fee to replace the battery. next day my cars steering wheel controls no longer work and something else has shorted out. my rental car not only has trash in the back seat but a roach that crawls out from in between the seats. i get a call that the tech who worked on my car finished at closing time so to bring back the rental next day! i'm thinking my car wont have any more issues, i'm wrong!! the menu on my car lets you view the tire pressure and temperatures of the vehicle. all of a sudden the oil temp doesn't display. the setting for my doors to be unlocked with the hand sensor on driver door wont work!

Car shutting off while driving in traffic with no warning. car frequently resets itself multiple times a day without reason. dashboard lights go out without warning. gear switch has low voltage, shuts off car.

This car is the biggest pos i have ever owned, we have had electrical problem after electrical problem, now it isn't keeping a charge on the battery, charged overnight was able to start the car, get to our next location and it is dead, the car has died in the middle of the a busy road as we pulled out we were very lucky a semi didn't hit our car with my wife and kids in the car, we have had problems with the car not shifting out of out of gear, wheel bearings and they will not even look at the issue we have had to replace all the tires within 25,000 miles, because i rather save the money and rotate the tires myself they refused to look into a problem, the new tires we had to put on the care are starting to wear just like the last ones, i have been a very loyal chrysler/ram customer but the chrysler 200s takes the cake, this car has had recall after recall and now since chrysler discontinued making the car, the value tanked and we owe more on it than it is even worth, talk about sticking to someone... not happy at all

The battery drains constantly causing the battery to die. car will not recognize that brake is being pressed to start car. the car has started on its own shortly after trying to start the car without pressing brake and releasing key. after actually getting car to start car after charge the car will die shortly there after after running for a few minutrs. has caused car to stall while in gear/moving. battery has been replaced 3 times already. car is now in dealer and dealer is saying i have to buy a new battery even though the car had a battery replaced the day on 9/21/2017 when car just died on drive to 7-11. the car was then driven from nc to fl and then short drive in fl and is fully dead again a few days later. here is picture of tow. deiver charged battery to move to flatbed then it died while putting in gear. had to be pushed ro get moved out of parking space for flatbed. *bf updated 7/27/18*jb

Dash lights come on, electric bolt light shows, and car does not accelerate. car is parked in drive way. this is the second time this year this has happened. i took it to a chrysler dealership the first time a month before, they fixed the recall and cleaned the throttle body. i will have to try to take it in for a second time.

On october 2, 2017, as i was preparing to start the car, i noticed that the bell kept ringing. and when tried to start the car, it wouldn't start. so after sitting in the car for about two minutes, it started, but hesitantly. also, the air bags warning light had been coming on since last week. i was driving when the warning light for the airbags came on.

Driving doing around 20-25 mph car shuts off. have to through car in park to restart. it happen yesterday . then again this morning almost causing a accident

As i was on my way to work at 5:30 am this car stalled and told me to pull over, turn off engine and place in park. i live in country so there was nothing but a back country road. the car would not start at all would not shift into park, i called my husband to come help me. he had to pull both battery terminals off and reconnect them. after i was 2 hours late to work the car finally started again. since this incident this has happened 3 more times at different times of day.

Out of no where after i took my car to the dealership i bought my car from and they said that there was an electrical issue that popped up... then after they ran scan a day or two later my check engine light comes on and then my car won't start ... took it to a chrysler dealership and they said all the problems i was having was because my battery but before that even happened my car was on 14 vollatages... had to pay for a new battery and only had the car a year

Gator chrysler service manager roger called this dealership and agreed to give me a new tire with road hazard warranty after i got a nail in my tires on his lot. the invoices will show this. the other tire they patched and roger after getting on phone with tire kingdom requested this come back to him. these original 4 tires, including the patched ones had matching dot numbers. the new one paid for by roger of gator chrylser melbourne, fl had an inmatched dot number, being from a new batch, also lesser tread wear compared to other 3. tire kingdom since has seen my car multiple times for tire punctures. i was told the car guys here are connected and nothing is for free. i was told they are pawns following someones directive. this is disturbing as it involves local organized crime, as even the police could not get away with this action legally. i saved tge patched tire and all records. tire kingdom repeatedly with gator chrysler of melbourne, fl sabotaged my car, tires since

Twice in the last two days, the car engine has shut off on its own while in motion, and the "vehicle at too high speed" flashed on my dashboard as it asked me to put it in park to restart the vehicle. imagine if i was on the highway going 65 with cars all around me! an accident, possibly deadly, would have occurred! i have a 7 year old child, and this car is putting us both in danger. i didn't pay for a death machine, i paid for a working vehicle that is supposed to keep me and my family safe. this hits all of the qualifications of needing to have a recall issue, as i've seen at least 20 other complaints about this issue on carcomplaints.com. how many people have to be affected/injured/killed for this to get fixed?

Car cuts off while i was driving on the interstate also stalls while driving and won't pick up speed.

The vehicle is shutting down in the middle of traffic,indicator on dash will flash shift to "p".the will not restart, you will have to try a restart after the vehicle has been sitting. once trying to restart it will sound as if it doesnt want to but finally will. this problem has occurred 5 to 6 times already. i'm afraid an accident will happen when driving 50 miles per hour then coming to complete stop in the middle of heavy traffic. the car has stopped in motion on the highway and major mile roads. please assist me with this extreme dangerous problem.i have read through research that the tcm pins are not connecting in the harness and reprogramming some things.this creates an unsafe condition for driving.

The car will not crank even though the key fob is in close proximity. it can take up to 1 hour (sometimes more, sometimes less) to get the car cranked. the car starts at random...no special technique can be used to get this car to crank as it should. the key fob works for locking, unlocking doors; however, it does not work to start ignition. i have replaced the battery in the fob, had the car's battery tested (it's in good working order), taken it back to the dealership of purchase twice. i have been dealing with this issue for several days now in upper 90 degree weather in florida. the vehicle is immobile/stationary. the occurrences have happened at home, work, grocery store, restaurant. additionally i have noticed that the car skips while in motion. it feels as if something gets hung up and then releases. this is unsafe and frustrating. this car is crap!

The airbag service light came on i took it in to where i bought it and they said they had to reset it . it went off and 2 days later it came back on and never went off.. now it stays on. i was told there is no recall for my car. the transmission jolts when going from 2nd into 3rdwhile driving also. and my middle console the controls air and sound works when it feels like it.

We traveled two hours away for an event. when we were leaving the park the car stalled. no steering, no brakes, and no dash lights. we almost side swiped a camper before the car finally stopped. another time driving down a busy highway the cat just dies. etc light comes on. we take the car ti the dealer and they tell us its because the oil was low. i dont understand how the oil being low is going to stall out the car, there was no indication of oil issues. no lights were on in the dash. this car is unsafe.

The passenger airbag light is on and will not turn off this is the second time i am filing a complaint. i have even wrote to jeep motors and no response. i notice that my radio turns off on it's own completely . the screen goes black and reboost itself.

I was driving to work i try to change my music and try to use my temperature control panel the screen was frozen not doing anything i was not even able to hang up a phone call from the screen, after work my car was completely out of power did not turn on at all, it has a recall s55 this is the second time that this exact thing happen to me, first time they fix it with no problem, no this time they are saying that it is probably the recall and something else, i don't want to pay more to fix it its already 4 times having trouble with this car i'm tired of it my monthly payment is big and now "something else" that the warranty don't cover?? i thing there is something wrong with the dealership, if they see that you don't have warranty anymore they try to get more money from the customer.

I purchased the vehicle froma local certified dealer in the end of april 2017 in may i had to have it towed to there location becasue the vehicle wouldnt turn on or respond they claimed it was the battery but ever since then the car been shifting weird the told me it need to be taken to a chrysler dealership. just last week (july 4th weekend) i was driving to a friends house when the car wouldnt go past 35mph as soon as i stoped the vehicle stalled. itried to turn it on but it wont and it kept the starter even tho i let off the start button. i was scared to think it may cause a fire. 2 days after that i got the sama situation but this time the display would not work and the car stalled again resulting me to apply the hazards and try to avoid to get hit by vehicles. i have a current vedeo that show what it was doing

My vehicle lost power while i was waiting at a stop light.

My car is having an intermittent loss of power to electrical components could cause a vehicle to stall without warning. this has happened on several occasions, whereby my vehicle was on the road and simply loss power.

Takata recall when you press the brake it makes a spring sound. when you drive the gear switches by itself and the car accelerates by itself.

I have a engine light on that is regarded to a active grill shutter. i have had the dealer look at it and they say the motor has gone bad and needs to be replace. car has 47k miles on it!!!!!! nope not covered under warranty. today i get in my car and my air bag light comes on and says to service air bag system. while driving the light will come on and go off about every 2 miles.
