Check engine light come one code p0461 - fuel tank pressure sensor circuit high voltage. this problem seems to be a common problem with the chevy trailblazers and should be a recallable issue. furthermore, the suspension on this vehicle has been a financial drain from the sway bar links, front end links stabilizer shaft and ball joints. *tr
Fuel gauge does not read accurate. usually reads empty even when filled. bounces back and forth. *tr
The gas gauge is inaccurate. i ran out of gas when i thought there was gas in the car. since then (had just recently purchased vehicle) i have to fill up and reset mileage so that i will know if i actually have gas and when it is likely that i'll need to get more. *tr
The gas gauge stopped working completely and now the check engine light is on. this has been a problem with several other trailblazers of the same year. the fuel sensor is bad in this model, i have taken it to a mechanic who told me the check engine light is also due to this. i have ran out of gas a few times due to the fuel gauge not working. i think this should be an issue that would be a recall. it is an expensive fix and the consumer should not have to pay for this to be fixed!!!! *tr
Fuel gauge inoperable just as stated in all the other complaints. chevy should be held accountable to repair at no cost for the life of the vehicle. please mandate a recall as soon as possible. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the fuel level gauge would display a reading of empty after refueling. the contact stated that the fuel tank could be full but the low fuel warning light would remain illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or mechanic for diagnosis. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 47000. the vin was unavailable.
Fuel sensor is not working, it reads empty even if i have just filled it up. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the fuel gauge was providing inaccurate fuel level readings. as a result, the vehicle stalled while the contact was traveling 45 mph. the contact had to set the mileage to zero in order to determine how much fuel was in the vehicle and how many miles she could travel before running out of fuel. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000 and the approximate current mileage was 65,000.
Slowing for a stop sign. engine stopped. fuel gauge showed 1/4 tank. fuel gauge inaccurate. had it changed ($450.00), sending unit in fuelpump. july 1,2012.same thing. repairs were less by $175.00 because the shop i deal with (i am a good customer) felt i needed a break, and did not charge to replace it the second time. when we picked the vehicle up the ac / vent does not open for the dash ports. all other ports, ie floor, defrost, work somewhat. this morning the whole blower quit. i went out this afternoon and the blower again blows, but not the dash vents....argggggggg is there any solution? *tr
Gas gauge fluctuates, filled gas tank, moments later it went down to empty (warning light and sound went off). this has happened for the past week. prior to this the check engine would sporadically go off and on, probably an early indicator that there was a problem with the fuel gauge. problem has caused my family to be stranded on the freeway at night while i am at work and i have to go help them this is a big safety issue. gm only wants to pay for part of the repair, which is not right as the issue is wide spread and is a safety issue. *tr
Initially the fuel gauge began fluctuating and working intermittently. then, it stopped working all together. it always says the vehicle is on empty with the gas light and the check engine light staying on 90% of the time. this is very frustrating because if there were a problem with the engine, i would have no way of knowing whether the light is on due to the fuel sensor or because of another more serious issue. i also must rely on the "trip meter" to determine my fuel level. i have found this is a very common problem with these vehicles and would hope chevy would take responsibility. *tr
The fuel gauge doesn't work. can't tell if the car is full or empty.
Gas gauge began to malfunction in december. it would go from full to empty every once in a while. over time it got worse and worse, until now, where it does not work at all. *tr
My fuel gauge quit registering how much fuel i have in my tank, and as a result i have to stop and fill my tank more often than needed so that i dont run out of gas (which has happened). i also received a letter from the mfg that they are aware of the issue, however because it is not safety concern they would only cover 50% of the cost to fix the issue. last time i checked running out of fuel is a saftey issue, not just to the person driving the vehicle but to others that may be driving behind said vehicle that runs out of fuel. i have not fixed this issue as i dont feel like i should have too, i feel that gm should pay to have these issues fixed. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that after refueling, the fuel level gauge would not register the quantity of the fuel added. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection but the cause of the failure was undetermined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 99,000. the vin was unavailable.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated the fuel gauge displayed the wrong level of fuel. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.
Gas gauge showing more fuel than in tank....i ran out of gas ....car shut off in traffic. gas gauge would float from full to empty and stop along the way, so you did not know how much fuel you had. then it just stopped working all together. *tr
Fuel gauge intermittently displays incorrect fuel level causing vehicle to stall due to an empty fuel tank. gauge may display full when empty, empty when full, or anywhere in between. *tr
After 50,000 miles gas tank sensor stops working. therefore the gas light remains lit even when tank is full - this also causes the check engine light to come on (resulting in a failed inspection). per chevrolet dealership, this is a common problem and happens about every 50k miles. only solution is to replace entire gas tank and sensor (every 50k miles). *tr
Under a previous recall the dealer replaced a part in the fuel tank and tried to sell us a fuel pump at the same time. my wife now tells me that since this service she has occasionally smelled gasoline inside the vehicle and at times quite strong. at first she thought it was the fumes from other vehicles. i do not drive this vehicle alot, so it has not been noticed by me. is it because of a complete fill up or is it because there is a seal not installed correctly, i do not know what i do know is that under no circumstances should there be gasoline fumes inside the vehicle, which tells me that any spark of any kind could ignite those fumes.
Don't have the exact dates and miles but i have had 2 instances where my gas gauge stopped working after filling up. first time i had the issue fixed at the chevy dealership while under warranty, then maybe a year later it broke again. i have not gone to fix it. due to the gauge never showing gas in the vehicle my check engine light comes on. i drive about 200 miles until i go and fill which would be around 1/2 a tank. i cannot go on long trips as i would never know where i am on gas. one time breaking i can see since this appears to be a well known issue with the vehicle, but a 2nd time after the dealership replaced it seems like really faulty parts or dealership errors. i have been quoted between $300-$500 to fix the problem but not by a chevy dealership. i have many issues where i purchased this trailblazer. i don't know if chevy would fix this again at their cost and i would hope this becomes a recall after nearly 1,000,000 complaints. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. while parked, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge did not display the accurate fuel level reading. as the failure progressively worsened, the fuel gauge would permanently provide a reading of empty. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the fuel gauge would not display the proper fuel level reading. as a result, the vehicle stalled while driving 60 mph. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the fuel system was repaired. the failure recurred approximately five years later. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer for repair. the contact also stated that the control panel on the front driver's side, which controlled the windows, was not functioning. the contact also smelled a burning odor when she attempted to control the windows. the vehicle was not taken to have the failure repaired. the manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. the failure mileage was 10,000. the vin was unavailable.
