I was driving on the freeway and what around crave . the side airbags what off. i do not hit any thing or run over any thing

Lucky to be alive. on 4 14 2019 while driving 65mph on 101 freeway in thousand oaks california, a pickup truck veered into my lane. when i moved over to avoid the pickup both side airbags went off with a bang filling car with powdery cloud. my left ear popped from the loud bang but i was able to get off on the shoulder. called 911 and ca highway patrol came out and did a report. both officers had never seen anything like it. there was no impact to the car and the chp took multiple pictures of the exterior. milage on the car at time of accident was 117,873 . chp cutaway the airbags and my father came out and drove it home and then to auto shop to evaluate. seat belt also stopped working now that airbags deployed. really terrifying experience.

Airbag did not work

The airbags will show that they're not enabled even with a passenger sitting in the seat.then it would come on as being on but no passenger in seat. a lot of sensors have popped up in the electrical panel, on top of that the car kinda shut down on me and started going 10 miles per hour, as i was going out in traffic.

2005 chevy trailblazer was driven by my granddaughter. she was trying to enter onto i-10 interstate and was going too fast on the entrance ramp. road conditions were hazardous as it was a severe rain storm. she hydroplaned and hit a vehicle in front of her which caused her to spin into oncoming traffic. she was hit on the driver's side and the truck spun around several times before it stoppped. the airbag did not deploy!!! the police officer and the tow company driver said she was lucky to be alive. my concern is this could have been a fatal accident and the airbag failed to deploy. the trailblazer was totaled as the axle and the engine were on the ground. the driver's side front wheel came off. i have always like chevy vehicles but am now hesitant to purchase another one b/c of this issue with the air bag.

Fuel gage is not showing the fuel level , so it looks like its empty all the time automatic air bag passenger sensing system is malfunctioning and on windshield urethane bead may not have adhered to the body in certain areas during the cure process.

Odometer works then just stops going down the road and airbag light stays on now also if i plug in my cell charger the radio shuts off did not do this until issues with odometer. *tr

The roads where slightly wet and i hit a guardrail on a mountain road going approx 30mph - 35mph. destroying the front passenger bumper, turn signal light, tire, axle, suspension, pretty much everything on the passenger side and the guardrail of course. the air bags never deployed! police report was taken, no fault or major injuries, the truck could not be driven and again the air bags did not deploy! just makes me think (if i had went through the guardrail and down the mountain into a tree) would the air bags ever work and save my life? please recall this issue!! *tr

I have after market seats in my 2005 chevy trailblazer, i've seen a recall on your site so i called gm and they ran my vin to check if it involves my vehicle, however they state it doesn't involve mine. i have stated that my service air bag light keeps coming on "blinking" and i do have the leather seats. this is the website with the cloth seats.... http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2005/chevrolet/trailblazer/photos/interior/cockpit.html and here is the recall from your site http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/searchresults.action?searchtype=prod&prodtype=v&targetcategory=a&activetab=0&searchcriteria.model_yr=2005&searchcriteria.make=chevrolet&searchcriteria.model=trailblazer&searchcriteria.prod_ids=204821 report receipt date: oct 31, 2006 nhtsa campaign number: 06v417000. *tr

Crashed straight into the back end of a vehicle doing 60 while i was doing atleast 80, or 85, maybe more, i don't remember. the first thing i remember seeing is realizing i'm alright despite the blood in the cockpit and on my face despite sneezing which was spreading blood. is this a vehicle defect or what? my math says that crashing at 85mph into a vehicle doing 60 is like crashing into a brick wall at 25mph. i've had a local mechanic check it out and he says according to his obd-ii computer everything is working fine (or was atleast) :) anyways, please feel free to contact me again with any more question you may have. , i was approaching a line of cars stopped for a red light. the weather was clear and i was decelerating and moving at approximately 20 mph. as i began to apply the brakes, they failed catastrophically. the brake pedal hit the floor, with no resistance, and i ran into the back of a stopped pickup truck?.watching it all unfold before my eyes while my foot frantically pumped the brake pedal, which hit the floor with each attempt. although it was a front end collision, the airbags did not deploy. *tr

Since 2011 i've been having wrong reading of gas levels causing my vehicle to shutoff. plus my passager air bag displays on when no one is sitting in seat and when someone is sitting in passager seat it occasionally flicker on and off. however i have not had a incident just yet but i'm very concerned and don't feel safe driving with my kids in this vehicle.

As of 2011 (while driving on freeways in multiple occasions) i've been having electrical issues such as my fuel level gage would read full and vehicle would shut off cause no gas in tank, air bags sensor would show it on when no one is sitting in the passenger seat, and there are some electrical issues on driver seat controls not working, dash board gages not showing readings while vehicle is in motion (rmp, speedometer, oil, gas).

Air bag did not deploy in head-on collision. *tr

I was in an accident where another driver pulled out in front of me crossing oncoming traffic. i hit him broadside doing approximately 30-35 miles per hour. my front end was nearly shoved all the way up to the windshield. my 2005 trailblazer was totaled. my airbag did not deploy and if it wasn't for my seatbelt i would have went through the windshield the impact was so hard. i sustained a hurt shoulder and arm and probably wouldn't had such a painful injury if the airbag had of deployed. *tr

2005 chevrolet trailblazer. air bags did not deploy during an accident. *cw the consumer stated even though the air bags did not deploy, there is an overwhelming odor coming from the vehicle when the doors are opened. *jb

I was driving down a curvy road. i looked away from the road for a second and when i looked back to the road i was slightly veering off. i overcorrected the car to my left and corrected back to the right. once i was back straight again-the side impact airbags deployed. this all happened very quick. i was traveling about 35-40 mph. there was no damage to the vehicle, i did not hit anything and there was no collision. there was only one other passenger in the car and no one was hurt. i called the insurance company who declined the claim since there was no collision or property damage. they attributed the crash to overly sensitive yaw sensors. the insurance company told me they have seen similar occurrences that they attributed to the yaw sensor. i made a claim with chevrolet, the manufacturer, of my vehicle. chevrolet sent out a 3rd party engineer/inspector to look at and diagnose the vehicle. the engineer's report said that the vehicle was preparing for a roll over and acted as it was supposed to so there was no mechanical malfunctions. nothing has been done to correct this situation. the airbags on the vehicle have not been replaced. chevrolet says the car has no mechanical defect and the insurance company says there was no collision or anything to attribute to why the airbags deployed, other than the airbags being too sensitive. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving 45 mph, both side air bags deployed without an impact or crash occurring. the contact swerved on the highway, but managed to drive the vehicle to the dealer, where it is currently being inspected by the manufacturer. the current and failure mileages were 74,000.

The side curtain airbags deployed without cause on our 2005 chevrolet trailblazer, causing interior damage. *tr

Airbags did not deploy. a driver pulled out in front of my wife. she was traveling at nearly 40mph. she struck another vehicle broad side. the airbags did not deploy. the front bumper from our trailblazer was about 30 yards behind our vehicle. my wife experienced severe bruising to abd and chest. her seatbelt was in use. *tr

Lost control of car on narrow road under normal driving conditions. collision into two trees head on. driver side airbag never deployed. *tr

Was driving on highway at approximately 65mph when we were cut off by another vehicle. we drove off onto the shoulder to avoid the accident and started to slid sideways. as we corrected the vehicle we entered upon the pavement and corrected the sliding vehicle and was continuing to drive straight for about 3 seconds when the side airbag deployed. tgere was no collision nor was the corrective move so erratic as to tip the vehicle. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact was the passenger in a vehicle traveling 35 mph on icy road conditions. another vehicle pulled out in front of them and crashed into the vehicle. the vehicle was destroyed and the air bags failed to deploy. the contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance. her neck was snapped backwards. the seat belt properly restrained her at the time of the crash. a police report was filed and the other driver received a citation. the dealer was unable to determine why the air bags failed. the failure mileage was 80,000.

My daughter had an accident on 12/16/2008. she has(had) a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ls, 2 wheel drive suv. while driving on the ohio turnpike during a snow storm she lost control and had a head on crash with a cement retaining wall while traveling between 25 to 35 miles per hour. the air bag did not deploy during the accident and she slammed hard into the steering wheel resulting in a concussion, chest injuries, sore wrist, dizziness, and still has ringing in one ear. she did have her safety belt on at the time of the accident and always wears it. we are baffled as to why the air bag did not come out as it would have save her much pain. the car is a total wreck as described by the pontiac dealer that her insurance company towed the suv to for repairs. the trailblazer sustained much damage such as a bent frame, broken transmission, all of the motor mounts and the transmission mounts broke loose from the frame, bent steering wheel, and all parts from the engine forward are either gone or bent beyond repair. with this violent of a crash no one has been able to tell us why the air bags did not deploy. we bought this suv used from a chevy dealer in july of 2005 and it had around 8000 miles on it at that time. i would like to know if there is some way of checking the functionally of this air bag to see if there may be a possible problem with it. her crash was head on and in my opinion violent enough to activate the driver side air bag. any suggestions as to what we should do? *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving 60 mph, the contact struck the guardrail. the vehicle was destroyed and the air bags failed to deploy. the contact has pictures of the vehicle. she was transported to the hospital and is currently in pain. a police report was filed. the air bags were not serviced prior to the crash. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 44,000.

My 2005 chevrolet trailblazer is possibly involved with recall # 06v417000. i have called gm, the dealership that i purchased the vehicle from, and the toll free # listed on the recall form and cannot get any information regarding this matter. i did not receive a recall letter from gm. when i became aware of this recall, i called gm and they had no record of my vehicle having leather installed by the dealership and referred me to the dealership. aftermarket leather seats were installed in my vehicle at the time of purchase at the dealership that i purchased my vehicle from. after reading the recall notice, i am very concerned that the airbags in my vehicle will not function properly if i am in an accident. i am concerned about the safety of my vehicle and would like to have someone help me with this issue. *tr

I was driving on a 2 lane road going 45mph. a car was following close behind me so i went to get into right lane and my truck did 5 360 and hit 3 trees head on and air bag never deployed. *tr

Why air bags did not deploy. *tr

I was driving on an elevated interstate and lost control of the vehicle. i hit the guardrail in a direct frontal impact. the entire front of the car was crushed about 40 inches. the car is totaled but the airbags did not deploy. i suffered some injuries on my head even though i had my seatbelt on. *jb

According to nhtsa campaign id number: 06v417000 and gm recall no. 06102 my vehicle should be included in this recall. when i tried calling the number listed 1-877-477-1022 it is a non working number. when i contacted chevy customer service the person i spoke with was rather rude and not helpful. *tr
