Recently reported STEERING problems on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Started experiencing a popping sound and popping /clicking feeling in the steering wheel when driving at slow speeds ,when turning the steering wheel in either direction.this would usually occur in tight spaces such as parking lots ,gas stations etc. and after the truck was driven for awhile ,20 plus miles after a few weeks started noticing that front tires were wearing rapidly and click/popping sound had progressed and so we scheduled appointment with dealership, and met with service tech ,after a brief diagnosis i was informed that it was a faulty rack and pinion and would need to be replaced, this is a major disappointment on a fairly new truck with less then 68000 miles

Loss of power while driving on a freeway trying to turn.

Traveling at approx. 65mph on us17 a divided four lane highway in traffic when the engine shut off with no warning which resulted in complete loss of lights, signals, flashers, horn, and the steering wheel went into locked position. i was able to safely bring the truck to a stop in the grass median. after collecting my thoughts i tried to restart the truck but there was no response and all electrical functions would not operate. about 10 minutes later while i was on my cell phone with a tow service the interior lights cam on along with the radio. the truck started up and after calling the closest gm dealer which happen to be only a few miles away i made my way to the dealership service dept. they were quickly able to identify the problem as gm had issued a service bulletin #pit5405c on this type of issue. it was caused by dashboard fabric trim being caught under a ground post during assembly that resulted in loss of all electrical service. the truck had approx. 40,000 miles at the time of the event and it seems it took either two years or that reasonably low mileage before the problem surfaced. the dealer repaired the problem by simply losing a ground post and trimming out the fabric intrusion. they were great and apologized for what they saw as clearly a defect in manufacturing. they did charge as the truck was out of the 36,000 mile warranty but said i should contact gm customer service for help with the cost. gm refused but it was only about $100.00 so that is not the issue. how can a company allow this problem to exist and be aware of it ( technical bulletin issued). it is a wonder that i or another motorist on the road with me was not hurt or worse. this not like a truck not starting but total loss of control at highway speed. thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

When driving steering wheel locks and stalls out in the middle of driving and turning and says steering loss please drive safe and it's dangerous i could crash

While driving my 2014 chevy silverado around 42000 miles i stopped at a light on a highway and lost all electrical power and the service steering assist came on dash. i was able to restart the truck and go. it happened multiple times. while driving it around a bend on a highway the truck shut off i lost all steering the steering locked up and i almost crashed, the service assist light came on again. this happened multiple times when turning. on 4-13-17 i brought the truck to a chevy dealer it was was still under warranty. they could not reproduce the problem. 8-24-17 i brought the truck in for a recall #17276 for reprogramming the power steering assist control modular. after the recall the truck started doing it more often the same day but the steering did not lock up but the truck shut off when i tried making a turn on a highway. the service steering assist light came on again. on 9-7-17 i brought the truck back to the chevy dealer ( chevy dealer now changed its name from oasis to quality ) complaining that the recall did not work. they said that the recall was not for that. but i believe it is the same problem. they chevy dealer drove the truck for 10 miles and it happened to them.they charged me for the time to trouble shoot the problem and found a loose ground wire #g218 under the dash causing the problem. i have driving the truck for 2 days now and it seems fine. the issue is that they made me pay for something they should have fixed the first time and i believe that this should have been part of recall # 17276, because i believe part of recall #17276 had to do with low voltage to the steering modular. a loose ground will give you low voltage. any way this is very dangerous and i have read online of others having the same problem. please make a recall about this loose ground wire that makes the truck shut off and lose steering before someone dies. thank you

Event #1: stopped at stoplight on city street to turn left; light changes; tuned steering wheel rapidly to the left & accelerated; crossing in front of traffic, the steering wheel jerked violently to the right out of my hands 3 times till i braked the vehicle to a stop & sat still for 5 seconds; could then steer & drive normally. event # 2: very next day; backing slowly out of driveway; stopped on street; turned steering wheel slowly to left to proceed down street; steering wheel jerks violently to the right; after braking & sitting for 5 seconds with the engine idling again, was able to proceed. event # 3: 15 minutes after event #2; again backing slowly to the left to turn around, & then turning the steering wheel to the right to proceed forward, steering wheel jerks violently to the left out of my hands. again after braking to a stop & sitting at idle for 5 seconds was able to proceed. during all 3 events, the screen displayed "service stabilitrak". this issue "steering wheel jerked violently out of my hands" & "steering locks up (video included) when turning" is frequently discussed on gm forums by owners. one owner appears to have solved it by fixing a poor electrical ground under the dash.

Traveling appx. 60 mph ct rte 8 when deer appeared swerved to avoid direct impact lost steering control struck unknown went airborne landed hard struck unknown no injuries however no airbag deployment either occurred 4/07/17 appx. 2200 hrs youthful driver w/one passenger both seatbelted suffered front end & subframe damage causing motor to move toward cabin currently at body shop to determine repairablity.

The issue has occurred on two separate occasions. on both occasions the vehicle was in drive and moving. the vehicles steering capabilities malfunctioned and complete loss of steering occurred. after researching online, there were other owners of the same vehicle experiencing steering failure as well. there is video evidence on youtube to prove that this is a serious issue that needs to be corrected immediately. see "2014 chevy silverado stabilitrak issues part 4" on youtube to see what exactly is occurring.

Vehicle completely shut off when coming to a stop. loss of steering power, etc. after restarting vehicle and after about 10 miles, the error popped up stating that the theft deterrent system had kicked in and the vehicle steering jerked me into another lane on interstate 485 at roughly 70 miles per hour.. two days later vehicle would not start, but after getting out of the vehicle and re locking and unlocking the door several times, the vehicle started. today again the vehicle would not start. system stated that the battery was low and that the theft deterrent system was now engaged. had to jump the vehicle off to get it started again. had battery checked and it checked out completely fine. it is my feeling that there seems to be an issues with the electrical or a ground somewhere. after reviewing this issue online, there seems to be several other vehicles out there with the same issue. very dangerous for the steering to completely take over at 70 miles per hour.

Was turning corner steering wheel jerked opposite direction service power steering message appeared truck very hard to steer ended in bar ditch drove down bumpy road power steering reactived when i turn again same result

After driving the truck for an hour and half i pulled into a parking lot, as i was turning to go down an aisle to park the truck interior lighting on the dash dimmed and the power steering died enough to jerk the steering wheel back and forth while turning. this almost caused me to hit another vehicle since i had no steering. i let the truck sit for a minute and then drove to an empty section of the parking lot and done a few slow figure eights seeing if the issue would happen again. after nothing happened i proceeded back to the parking area and again as i was pulling into a parking space the truck seemed to be losing power and the steering wheel was jerking out of my had uncontrollably to the point i could no longer steer the truck. the screen on the dash said it was caused by traction control but the ground was dry and paved. i again let the truck sit for a minute and was then able to park. after shopping i was able to drive to another stop and then home without any issues. when i was backing down my driveway an error message came up on the screen saying the backup safety devices were unavailable and the light on the dash started dimming again. the steering did not act up during backup mode. the dealer said there was a service bulletin out about the issue related to low voltage codes which they said my truck showed. they said the battery tested fine and chevrolet would not let them replace anything since they could not reproduce the issues. they did say they were replacing the negative battery cable though but would not say why they were replacing it.

Intermittently the steering wheel will yank from the driver's hands and warning errors for stabilitrak or traction control reported in center info screen, while the mylink screen goes blank. this typically occurs while maneuvering at low speeds in parking situations. the issue appears to be involving the vehicle's electronic steering assist and stability control systems. this is a major safety concern.

Steering rack and pinion internal failure at 38000, as confirmed by dealership. was informed that it could cause the steering to lock up and ultimately crash the vehicle

So far it has only done this under low speed making a tight turn like up to a gas pump or into a parking space the dash and display center will flash on and off and the steering wheel will jerk the other direction so violently it pulls the steering wheel out of your hand. also on the highway while driving about 20 mph i got a warning something to the effect that steering assist had been reduced drive with caution. even under low speed it could have been dangerous but i'm afraid at some point this will occur at a higher speed. we bought the vehicle used, the factory warranty is gone but i have an extended warranty. i contacted my local chevy dealer because i considered a safety defect that should be taken care of beyond the warranty but they claim they know nothing about this as a problem despite the fact i have seen many complaints about this problem documented, that's what prompted me to file a complaint. the vehicle is currently at my mechanic hoping they can find a cause/solution but i think this is something gm/chevy should be doing a recall on and fixing instead of people having to pay out of pocket or private after market warranty companies having to pay for. i have a video of it doing it on my iphone but didn't know if i could include video and it's currently on my phone and not my laptop. i used 02/01/2017 as occurrence date but i'm not sure of that was the first time or not, we've had vehicle since 12/2016 and it's happened numerous times.

While pulling out of a parking spot, i went to turn right. as turning to the right the service stabilitrak warning appeared on my dash and the steering wheel locked itself and fought against me turning right. the truck was trying to straighten the wheel out against my force of turning. i shut the truck off and restarted it and the problem was gone. then a few week later while driving my dash and radio screens kept flickering on and off, everytime making a loud click sound. when i got the truck parked, i tried to turn the wheel and it fought against me trying to turn it. the dash read service stabilitrak and assisted power steering is disabled. the radio lost its memory and the truck shut down. a third time it happened while parallel parking, backing up and turning the wheel right, it locked and forced itself back left. everytime it happens it is moving slow or just had finished moving.

This truck had a steering failure causing a collision and it was a minor front collision. the worse part is chevrolet denies a problem but the internet is full of complaints. during the collision on the front strangely the curtain airbags is all that deployed leaving driver completely unprotected!!! the steering came back on after. then i get a notice that the airbag control module is recalled because it may not work or deploy bags wrongfully. that's what happened. the truck has 24000 miles on it and the steering failed in the rain making me swing out almost striking a school bus full of small children. i had it towed to a chevy dealer after having and photographing with a time stamp 6 codes for a module failure. the chevy dealer calls and lies to me and did there are no codes or voltage to the motor and it may be a wire from the accident i told them about. the accident was minor and only required minor repair and a bumper. i think general motors needs a investigation into this and owe me curtain air bags and headliner. this company is irresponsible and defiant in defective moisture sensitive due to lack of sealing according to hundreds and hundreds of internet postings. i owe 34,000.00 on this junk unsafe product and complained and only get jerked around. abc news has contacted me back for a story as soon as i here back from you. *tr

Life threathing steering issue: 2014 silverado while driving and with no warning the steering wheel jerks violently and the vehicle becomes uncontrollable, even with the strongest grip of the steering wheel. this usually occurs during turning at the most inopportune time. the stabilitrak light comes on only after the issue arises thus no warning before this happens . i have documented this occurring by video and other 2014 silverado owners have also. check out youtube and see for yourself, search: 2014 silverado stabilitrak problems. i find it unbelievable nhtsa has not forced gm to do something, the drivers of this vehicle (and similar gm products with the same reported issue) and other motorist face severe injury or death. gm is aware of this issue and attributes it to many components: ground cables, batteries, grounding lugs, bcm, electrical system low voltage.....on and on. again check out the gm-trucks.com website and confirm from other owners postings. i've repaired / replaced the: battery, cut the material out from under the g218 grounding lug, new battery cables, there is even a tsb pit5405a, all to no avail. there is no exact solution that i or the gm repair shops (so i've been told by my local dealer) can definitively put an answer to, so the poor consumer is left with a life threatening issue forced to get rid of the vehicle and never trust your life being in one or being on the road around one of them. nhtsa please make gm take responsibility and remedy this issue!!!!!!!

Driving in the rain and as i turned onto hwy 39 the electric steering failed causing me to swing wide into traffic almost getting me and family killed!!!! there basically is no steering at all when gm truck steering fails! its not even manual steering. *tr

Intermittent electric power steering loss caused accident. chevrolet denied it. same problem almost caused a accident again but no there is no electric steering at all and vehicle steering is unable to manually be steered! it was towed to a simpson chevrolet, garden grove ca. 92643. 714 527 7000.this dealer is even trying not to warranty it!!! i need help here. this is the same truck that deployed the side airbags only at a steering failure involved accident. same problem but now its dead all the time.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving 20 mph, the power steering seized without warning. in addition, the brakes locked up without warning. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 90,000.

Since 05/02/2016 i have been dealing with crazy electrical problems. it started with head lights dimming at random times. then driving down the road at 55mph with cruise control on, activite turn signal. when turn signal is activated the cruise control would cut off. simulated 4 times to ensure there was a problem. continued driving. at 30 mph the air conditioning turned off, all dashboard lights & radio turned off but engine stayed running, 45 seconds later everything turned back on. at this time the wife freaked out & asked to park, scared for her safety & my own. pulled forward to parallel park, went to put the vehicle in reverse. before reverse was initiated the truck threw multiple warning lights (service stablitrak, assisted steering, etc). the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree. the steering wheel violently jerked & locked up. then the engine cut off. put the truck in park, turned key & started right back up with no warning lights, no low voltage indication and no problems. gmc dealership could not replicate the problem & returned the vehicle to me within 2 days. this happened again on 07/05/2016. this time it was sent to chevrolet. they reprogrammed the steering wheel position sensor & checked the security of the wire harness. 07/11/2016 the vehicle locked up & shut off again in a starbucks drive through. this time locking myself & my family in the truck for 3 minutes. when ignition was turned, truck would not start, no lights would come on either. the truck acted dead. this time chevrolet replaced gas pedal. 10/31/16 the truck shutoff & locked up again. this time i took video to prove my case in hopes it would help the dealership. they tested battery and cables. 12/19/2016 it happened again & also smelt burning. chevy replaced alternator cable & negative battery cable. could not smell burning. 01/10/17. engine fire caused by alternator and battery cable

On 3 separate occasions the steering wheel locked while the truck was in reverse and the dash flashed. the truck had to be restarted in order to correct malfunction. on all occasions car was being backed up from a parking garage.

When turning into a parking spot the steering locked up, jerking the opposite direction, and referenced a stabilitrak service message. very scary causing a total lack of control with steering. found many examples online of this happening to other owners, even video evidence. took to chevy and they "could not replicate" so nothing they could do. i traded the truck for a new ford. oddly enough my neighbor noticed my new truck and we got to talking. his 2014 gmc 1500 sierra has had the saw exact issue. i contacted gm with my concern with no help at all. it is clear that this is a known issue with very serious and scary consequences. please make gm fix before families have tragic accidents caused by the issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while making a right turn, all the indicators on the instrument panel flashed rapidly and the vehicle veered to the left independently. as a result, the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was able to be restarted on the first attempt. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 31,000.

While i was driving my stabiltrak light came on. i took it to the dealer that told me the uo126 and co544 setting found power steering module not communicating and that i needed to replace the entire module for the short in the wire. after talking to several dealers i was told that several people have had similar issues. i have had similar issues with other chevy's such as my 08 cobalt where there was a recall with the power steering turning off. *tr

This failure has occurred quite a few times. driving home then turning left the steering wheel locked up and shook violently back and forth. i almost hit a car in the opposite lane due to the loss of vehicle control. when this happened the lights on the dash, radio, ac fan all flickered and suddenly the truck shut off. i turned it back on and drove with similar issues and warning lights on the dash telling me the steering assist is off and service stabilitrak. when i pushed the window control up with the window shut the same thing happened again shutting the cruise control off when i used the turn signal. i'm worried about my family's safety the dealership said they couldn't duplicate and can't "find the fault code" which i find ridiculous with electronic technology controlling everything. they should be able to fix this serious safety problem. *tr

My 2014 chevy silverado has been giving me hard time due to that as im driving the truck out of no were turns the steering wheel left right and locks with no control of it and all the lights from the truck in and out side go out the ac turns of and unlocks the doors. the word stabilitrak and steering wheel asst come on the dash board before turning everything off and locking. and turns off the truck in the middle of the road with out letting me break. i have already contact chevrolet but they did not help me at all. all they said was you dont have a recall youll have to pay to get the truck check? im having gm problems come on now im very upset due to that im paying my truck every month and cant even drive it comfterble only transportation i have.

2014 chevrolet silverado. consumer writes in regards to unsatisfactory repair work on recall 16v-208 created another hazardous situation- foreign objects can fall into the gap and jam the seat belt mechanism. *smd

I was on my way back from lunch drove to my normal parking place vehicle in drive foot on brake i straightened the wheel slightly and the steering wheel started turning violently one direction, i turned it back to center and it turned violently the other direction, once again i straightened out the wheel and it turned violently the opposite direction and it tripped a stabiltrak light on the dash and quit. i took it immediately to the gunn chevrolet in san antonio texas 210-599-5000 and a call filed with chevrolet and recorded twice they are saying that there is nothing wrong with my vehicle. i am deeply concerned about this as this is huge for a vehicle to start steering itself for if this would have been at highway speeds this would have been catastrophic in nature not only to me, my family also those in the public on the highway. i have been on the line with gm and to no avail they are saying the car is safe, but i worry that they are putting money over safety.

I have had this issue quite a few times and only a few times able to get videos and pictures of what messages come up on the dash board. on the street going about 30mph turning right the stirring wheel locked up on me and i was close to colliding with a truck on the opposite lane due to the fact that i basically lost control of my vehicle i just put the truck on parking and the lights on the dash, radio,va all flickered and suddenly the truck shut off i turned it back on and drove and did not have an issue other then messages on the dash telling me to drive safe steering assist off and service stabilitrac. the times before i didn't get pictures but i'm concerned about my family's safety things could of got worst and the dealership doesn't seem to "find the code for the issue" which i find ridiculous with some much and an es technology everything should be able to get diagnoses at the dealership.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while changing lanes at 10 mph, the steering wheel seized and the lights on the instrument panel turned off momentarily. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to riverside chevrolet (8200 auto dr, riverside, ca 92504) where it was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 17v414000 (steering); however, the failure recurred. the dealer was not contacted again. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

While driving under normal conditions the steering wheel will randomly kick back against you as you are turning it and you will not be able to control the vehicle. this does not happen all the time but has happened to me in may, june and september 2016. all three times it was towed to a dealership and attempts were made to repair it. the problem came back all except the last time as i have not taken the vehicle back and it is still sitting at gunn chevrolet in selma texas. *tr

This is a complaint on a 2014 chevy silverado truck which we purchased new and has only had one driver. it will randomly loss power going down the highway. also, frequently now, losses power steering and will violently jerk making it uncontrollably. had the truck in the shop at the dealer where we purchased it 2 years ago and they could not find the problem. there was a recall on the power steering. we took the truck in to the shop for the recall but are still having the exact same issue. this is a safety issue, not a warranty issue and the dealer is wanting to charge for the diagnostic and any repairs, stating the truck is out of warranty.

Loud clicking noise when turning the steering wheel, in motion or in park. the clicking noise is constant and gets louder once the truck has warmed up. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/157451-steering-wheel-clicking/

While driving down the road randomly when i go to turn service stabilitrack pops up and when you try to turn it jerks the wheel back to zero. this has happened to me 3 times in the past month. i have had two dealerships look at it and could not find the issue. i have contacted gm and all they say is the dealer has to replicate it . and they will not foot the bill for me a loaner. this truck is not safe to drive and i feel like i should not be responsible seeing how just a little research will show many other people having the same issues i have. of course gm tells me they are not aware of the issue which is a lie.

I was driving the truck in downtown austin, i pulled in to the right to a restaurant, and proceeded to pull up and park in reverse. as i pulled up and aligned the truck i slightly turned the truck steering wheel to the left to straighten up as i did this the steering wheel jerked to the left even more with its own force, the display marked stabilitrak and engine power reduced , and then did this to me the entire time i was trying to straighten up the truck to try and back up to park. not only that my wife who drives the truck daily said it did this to her several times before and its even completely died on her, with her having to put the truck back into park and restart the truck. luckily it has not yet done this to us or more specifically to my wife because she drives the truck daily, to her on the interstate or major highway . this is a huge safety concern and have taken the truck to the dealer several times and its stayed there a few days each time. with them only repairing the recalls. and them not being able to reproduce what happened to my wife and i both. this is a major issue and the dealer cant find anything supposedly wrong with the truck. i have no idea what to do now, and am stuck with the truck with no answers what so eve!!!!!!!! *tr

2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. consumer writes in regards to loss of power steering while driving. *ld the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer refused to reimburse the consumer for the repairs stating that failure was not the same as described in the power steering recall. *js

I purchased the vehicle june 2016 with 32k miles on the odometer. august 2016 at 35k miles while driving at 55mph, the entire electrical system shut down 4 times within 2 miles. as i turned into my driveway, the electrical system shut down again along with the ability to control the vehicle. the steering wheel jerked violently and the vehicle stopped just short of hitting my mailbox. all functions were dead at this point. i turned the key to the off position and back on and the vehicle started as if nothing happened. 3 days later on a family outing, after parking the vehicle in a parking space at a theme park, my wife had forgotten her theme park mug, so we walked back to get it. when i tried to unlock the vehicle using the remote key entry, the vehicle would not unlock. i used the key to manually unlock the vehicle and noticed the courtesy light was not on when i opened the door. i then tried to start the vehicle and it would not do anything. it had no power as if the battery was dead. after spending the day in the theme park with friends, we were going to get a ride home due to the vehicle not starting. i told them lets try to start it again and see if it will do anything. it started as if nothing happened. i took the vehicle to the dealer the following day and they said it was a negative battery cable. they kept the vehicle for a week and said the problem had been fixed. 2 weeks later, the vehicle started the same erratic process. the electrical components shut down and the steering wheel jerked violently at the same time. the service stabilitrak light came on and that was while driving in a public parking lot. if this happens on a highway or interstate, someone is going to get seriously or fatally injured. i also have video of the erratic behavior. a person has no control of a gm vehicle with this same issue and gm is placing lives at risk.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving 75 mph, the steering wheel seized and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. the vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to autonation chevrolet north (located at 7320 n broadway, denver, co 80221, (720) 836-7087) where it was diagnosed, but a failure code could not be located. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Steering rack makes popping clunking sound . steering sometimes binds and is hard to turn dealer says steering rack is that blame and it's been a well known problem for these trucks and no recall has been made? what happens when the rack falls at 65 mph on the interstate? i believe they should fix or replace the rack.

I was having what i thought was an electrical problem. in traffic after hitting my breaks many times i noticed my dash lights go dim, the radio would cut out once in a while and my gauge cluster would reset just like it looks when you first start the truck. this happened several times in approx.30 min. i was planning on taking it in the first chance i got but the next day i was driving in my residential neighborhood, a car was coming the opposite way when and i hit my breaks the steering wheel violently jerked out of my hand and caused the vehicle to drive up onto the sidewalk and almost into a retaining wall. everything was dinging the abs and other lights were on and the word stabilitac was displayed on the center dash. thankfully no one was injured. i immediately called the dealership when i got home and took it in to have it looked at. the dealership had my truck for several days and offered no real explanation for what caused the problem other than it was a software problem. now here we are a month later i'm driving down the interstate and take my exit for work. when i hit my breaks the lights go dim in the truck, the radio goes out, the abs and other indicator lights come on, things are dinging and stabilitrac is displayed on the screen on the dash. when i started into my turn the wheel jerked violently many times in the opposite direction of my turn causing the vehicle to go onto the shoulder of the off ramp. it took every bit of strength to keep the vehicle on the road. i reluctantly continued on to work as it happened a few more times. one of them i was able to capture on video. the vehicle is currently at the same dealership that made the first assessment and repair. i don't feel safe operating this vehicle even after the repair as it has been proven it can and will happen again.. someone is going to get killed or seriously injured if gm doesn't fix it.

I have had this issues happen numerous times. the first i was backing up into a parking spot and my service stabilitrak warning came on, and my steering wheel started jerking left and right on its own. 2nd time i was pulling into my parents drive way and warning came on while turning causing truck to jerk and i almost hit the corner of the house. a 3rd time happened again reversing but this time my headlights dimmed and i had multiple service warnings pop up. a 4th time i was again about to reverse. i was able to straighten up and while in reverse and foot on brake, i would turn steering wheel and it would jerk back to center on its own. i took video of that accurance. while driving on the highway yesterday night. i noticed my headlights kept going dim then bright. while in cruise control going 75mph i moved left to pass a vehicle, when i turned right signal on to come back to lane my cruise disengaged. this happend 5 times. before one of the occurrences while in cruise i tapped the brake to slow down, and my volt gauge dropped to 10 or so and the headlights almlst shut off and all lights in cab flikered on and off. it almost felt like the truck was about to turn off but didn't. last issue, a few times i have tried to start the truck and the anti theft deterant comes on and i have to try numeros times to get truck to start.

Truck shifts bad, almost like the gears are slipping usually seems to happen around 3rd-4th gear. the truck also vibrates at 35 mph up to highway speeds. this all happens when driving.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving approximately 50 mph, the steering wheel shook violently and an unknown warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 15,000. the vin was not available.

After having the battery replaced, the vehicle started giving "stabiltrak service required" "reduced power to steering" warnings. at these times and intermittently afterwards, these would appear and the steering would then respond as if the engine were not running while underway. this happened in several parking lots requiring close maneuvering as well as on the florida turnpike, endangering my family, myself and others. the local dealership claimed and replaced the entire positive engine lead, stating that was the cause. the same issue has arisen again and now i am being informed there are now multiple low voltage codes due to this short. researching online forums, this has been an issue among many who own this truck. it would appear this could be a life threatening situation that needs to be addressed. this began happening on approx. june 20th and continued until "repaired" june
