Chimes--any warning chimes-- can not be heard at all, speakers do not work,no warning chimes can be heard at all.keys left in the ignition, turn signals on ,lights left on,seat belt warning, door open,nothing--then,depending on the weather, hot and dry, they may work, the radio may play, winter time--nothing---summer time, sporadic but for the most part--nothing. .two years now.don't matter if going or sitting still, any where, just nothing.

The dashboard has three major cracks in it. two around the air bag and one above the steering column.

Dashboard has cracked in several places. this started when the truck had 40,000 miles on it, it now has 60.000. if i would have an accident would the dash fly to pieces and injury occupants?

Dashboard is cracking and breaking apart surrounding airbag. could cause plastic shrapnel being thrown if airbag is deployed.

My dash is cracked in two different places. started out small and are getting larger as time goes on. my power windows and door locks have not worked on the vehicle since i bought it in 2012

Cracked chevrolet dash flaps when windows rolled down creating visible distraction very similar to attached picture chevrolet knows this is an ongoing issue for their 2007-2014 models and apparently won't do anything unless compelled to by a regulatory body. if i get into an accident i will make sure to advise of what caused the distraction. this is not only an eyesore but it is also incredibly dangerous. who makes new vehicles with all the emissions standards and then skimps on the dash? this is such a problem there is a facebook group with 6,825 members and you can do find it by searching. "07-14 gm cracked dash safety hazard for all trucks"

Dash has cracked in 2 different places, one from the upper left corner of the air bag, to the defroster panel, and the one from the radio, to the defroster panel.

My dash starting cracking at 30k miles. i assume it was just my luck. i looked up replacement parts to fix my dash, and i stumbled upon thousands of gm vehicles with the same issue... gm charged us good money for our vehicles. i bought for being a safe vehicle. i'm not sure if my airbag will deploy for my passenger and where will all the shredded dash plastic will have to be picked out of me and my passengers bodies...

Cracked dash around my airbag. very severely cracked.

The dash on my 2008 chevrolet silverado has cracked near the passenger side airbag across to the driver's side. one crack actually met another larger crack and a piece of the dash has fallen off leaving a hole.

Passenger side door lock actuator failed. the passenger door does not have a outside key lock to unlock the door. shortly there after the driver's side actuator failed. they both failed prematurely. i have read there are a great number of failures but gm has nothing in place to replace them under a recall.

Severe dash cracking, has about 5-6 major cracks, including around the airbag area. concern for how the airbag might cause piecers of plastic to injure occupants of the vehicle if the airbag was to deploy. very concerned when i have three kids driving in the truck. not to mention there still hasnt been a recall on the airbag situation. this is not good!

I purchased this truck brand new in august 2008. i noticed the first dashboard crack, on the left side of the passenger air bag, about two years later. i took my truck to the dealership i bought it from, over concerns about possible splintering of the dashboard in the event an airbag deployment. the dealer only offered to replace the defective component. the quote was just over $1200. he also assured me that my still active, "bumber to bumber" warranty would not cover this particular defect. of course now i've got a crack from the defrost vent to the windshield, and cracking over the gauge cluster so severe that it is basically a hole. it is more than obvious that this component is defective in material, design, application or mounting method. it is also obvious that this component is a safety hazard due to the likelihood of splintering should an impact and/or an airbag deployment occur. the hole in my dashboard also represents multiple violations of automotive safety and construction standards.set forth by the federal government. all that being said, i have taken immaculate care of this vehicle and there is no plausible explanation other than a defect in the component itself.

I bought this truck new 9/2008. frame was starting to flake off its factory undercoating and some rust was showing. present time july 2015 frame is still flaking off its factory undercoating and rusting everywhere.

I have a 2008 chevrolet silverado 1500 and the dashboard is cracked in two different places. one crack is on the passenger side, directly over the air bag. the other crack is above the left side of the instrument cluster. every 2008-2013 chevrolet pickup or suv that i have seen has one, if not both, of these cracks. i feel that it is very unsafe to have any damage in or around the airbag system, and i do not understand why gm will not fix an issue that is their fault.
