Service airbag light is on stays on had it diagnosed was told is the air bag sensors under the radiator very cost fix and after research this issue has been a ongoing problem with other silverado owners have friend who had same issues plus check engine stay on and was told is in the emissions on the fuel vapor canister another costly fix was just driving when check engine light come on was sittin parked overnight started it next day service airbag light came on stayed on both after extensive research are common issue the should be recalled and fixed soon

1. my takata inflator needs to be replaced on my 2007 chevrolet silverado and, is a recall item, and general motors is using delaying tactics rather than replacing the defective part(s). this is unacceptable. now my airbag light is on and after looking at the recall list and description it says: safety risk: the propellant in some types of takata airbag inflators can degrade over time, especially after long term exposure in hot and humid regions. if the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries. remedy: the necessity of a remedy is dependent upon nhtsa's decision on gm's petition for inconsequentiality. additional information will be available following that decision. in the meantime, you can also check the status of this recall at my.gm.com/recalls. gm considers your vehicle safe to drive. recall status: recall incomplete. remedy not yet available .... 2. i've had a recurring electrical problem that is not diagnosable as it is a total electrical failure that is not able to be determined by on star and without power, no diagnosis can be made. the computer doesn't keep a record of why the failure occurs, and we have had multiple cables and batteries replaced in an attempt to resolve the unknown issue. this vehicle was produced in canada.

I believe this is a takata inflator recall issue. the air bag warning light has been staying on since about may 1, 2017. i noticed it on while i was driving on the highway. i have had no kind of impacts or collisions. i just went to the nhtas.gov site for recalls and found that this vehicle is part of the airbag mfg recall #2049152 and nhtsa recall #16v383. i bought it used last year. is this vehicle safe to drive?

Takata recall- i recieved a notice over a year ago about the airbag issue and still no resolution has been found. i believe more than adequate time has been allowed to research a solution and employment a replacement. meanwhile operators and passengers are put in harms way with the u unknown of if the safety products we purchased will function properly if needed. other- i have called several dealers and every one has told me that the plastic used on my vehicles dash has become brittle and broken. this included all silverado truck from 2007-2013. one even mentioned that it could possible affect the function of the airbag system... if it even functions properly. yet, no attention to this by gm.

Driving down a paved road at apx 40 miles an hour and heard a loud sound like a shot gun going off, my driver side seat belt clamped down and the flashers on the truck turned on. startled i pulled over and had to struggle to get the seat belt off. had to shut off and restart vehicle, now seat both driver and passenger side won't work, they are locked in position. after contacting local dealer i was told i needed a new airbag control module and i had to replace both seat belts. i am bruised from the seat belt and very happy there were no other vehicles around as the disorientation from the event very well could have caused an accident.

Takata recall i was informed by gm in july of 2016 that there could be a recal on my airbags. since july i have received no further information from gm. this is unacceptable. i called them (12/6/16 to be told that my airbags are ok and it is safe. why was i not informed by them earlier that they were ok and of no danger they have no problem taking money when the vehicle is purchased but after that the couldnt care less about it.

My dashboard is cracking around passenger airbag and above odometer on the driver's side, a well known issue with gm vehicles. i am waiting for the day when my airbag deploys and i or a love one gets impaled with a piece of that defective plastic. please help with this issue before somebody gets hurt.
I rec'd a notice from gm stating that a recall occurred on my airbag and that when the parts were available, this would be replaced. after months with no update, i called gm on 11oct2016. i was told then that the recall wasn't applicable to my airbag and "they don't feel that this poses a threat." no other notice was sent to me with this information. i also own another make vehicle where the same airbag is being replaced. the parts are available in the us. i am afraid to drive my truck because of this recall and would like to complain about gm's lack of information and action to rectify this issue.

I am a u.s. citizen effected by the takata recall. unfortunately, i have been unable to drive my chevy for two years now because i now am married to a canadian and two years ago (days after the recall was issued) i began the process to import my truck into canada. canada has higher safety standards than the us on imported vehicles and so - until my airbag is fixed - they won't let me complete the recall process. so for two years i've been walking and taking the bus - even much of the time while i was pregnant and couldn't get rides in the winter. well i now have a newborn daughter that i'm gonna either have to push around in the snow or stay at home the entire winter? i'm beyond angry at the unfairness of the situation. i've called both chevy us and canada for two years and they don't care and won't help. my truck has been depreciating for two years and i'll never be compensated for that as well as the tires dry rotting and battery dying etc
