My anti-lock brakes would kick in when i would slow down almost to a stop. they would not let me stop. no warning lights were on and my brake system has been working great. is there a recall on this problem, seems to happen to a lot of chevy owners?

Tl* the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerated. the failure was persistent. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

Rear left side brakeline failure due to rust on 2000 chevy silverado 1500, on inspection rust noticed on all brake lines. many similar reports from consumers on same complaint. newyork based vehicle, truck always washed undercarriage to remove salt from roadway in winter months. all lines need replacement...dangerous condition!!!!! please have your vehicle inspected for your safety. no damage , crashed into curb in parking lot. i strongly believe these vehicles should all be removed from roads and fixed at gm expense. nhtsa has responsibility to enforce safety recalls but has yet taken due to influence of our "nationalized car manufacturing company". due to the government ownership of this company, any failure to act responsibly on this matter should be seen as "wanton neglect" by this agency for the safety of the public at large & not just these vehicle owners. i fully intend to inform my local rep. to the failure of this agency to take seriously the consequences of continuing to allow 1.3 million trucks with known serious safety issues to remain operating on our roadways. *tr

Abs failing at low speeds. have cleaned both sensors, checked voltage and the problem still occurs. i hit my gate at the house where i park the truck because the truck would not stop and ran forward. *tr

My father recently died as a result of injuries suffered in a one vehicle accident. he was driving his 2000 chevrolet c1500 pickup truck. he indicated that the throttle on his truck stuck and he could not stop the vehicle. as a result, he ran off the road, hit a tree totaling the vehicle. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving approximately 15 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle continued to accelerate. he was able to stop the vehicle after 20 seconds of applying pressure to the brakes. while attempting to park the vehicle in the driveway, it dramatically began to accelerate. the contact applied pressure to the brakes, but the vehicle continued to accelerate. smoke appeared and the vehicle lunged forward, causing him to crash into the garage. the vehicle would not stop until the power was completely shut off. the contact has pictures. the dealer has not been notified. the failure and current mileages were 99,000.

This is in regards to nhtsa action number: ea02015. this has been an ongoing problem with the accel pedal getting stuck. dealer said it is normal which it is not. happens randomly when maneuvering at lower speeds parking lots/streets etc. you have to give the pedal a firm push to get it unstuck and the truck lunges fwd. someone is going to get hurt by this. i have seen many many complaints of this on the boards/chat rooms. i was with my young daughter driving and this occurred and she pulled out and pedal/throttle got stuck. she gave gas and lost control of vehicle narrowly missing semi. this is a major problem and gm needs to address. my independent mechanic says this is very common on this yrs chevy silverados and no fix exists. *cbc *nm

This is in regards to nhtsa action number: ea02015. i did not know of this site and of such defect investigations, but although the matter might be closed, i must strongly urge you to reopen this matter regardless of what gm is responding with. i have noticed in the past and present, that the condition described in the nhtsa action, is still currently occurring. i live in the san francisco outskirts where temperatures rarely reach above 80 degrees f. during days where the temperature rises, the accelerator pedal does, "stick" where you have to give it a good firm push which causes the vehicle to lunge forward. also, when the vehicle is on a slope, it also does seem to, "stick" often. for purposes of this statement, i will not put a specific incident date because it is ongoing and will list today's date for purposes of future reference. thank you. *nm

The consumer has experienced the following: when the antilock is engaged, the pedal goes to the floor (on slow braking/it will cycle the abs), the hub rusts and renders the wheel, and the speed left front sensor is inaccurate and was dropping out at 6 mph and under. scc
