Had to disconnect the anti lock brake so i could stop. when driving slow and pressing on the brake pedal, the pedal is solid and does not move. very dangerous. cannot stop the vehicle at all. brake lines rotted out. has to replace. transmission lines rotted out. had to replace. transmission oil cooler rotted out. had to replace. fuel lines are rotting out. not replaced yet. drive shaft is questionable. severely rusted. rear backing plates rotted off, no more parking - emergency brake. check engine light will not go out. replaced catalytic converter many times with no results. engine leaks oil. loosing coolant, possible burning it. fuel mileage is terrible. body rusted out. rocker panels are gone. cab corners are gone. rear bumper is gone. putting the spare tire underneath is a stupid idea. the cost to replace these parts is too expensive. for what these vehicles cost new all of these parts should be made out of stainless steel or use plastic for the fuel lines and brake lines. the check engine light being related to a pollution control device should be entire covered by the manufacturer. these parts and whatever is upstream that caused the pollution control part to fail should be covered by the manufacturer in perpetuity. anti lock brakes should be removed from all cars. the parts are too expensive to replace. the cost should not be on the shoulders of the car owner. *tr

The fuel line supplying the engine fuel rail ruptured due to excessive corrosion because of the location it is in and fuel was spraying out underneath the truck,. dangerously close to the hot catalytic converter. the defective fuel line is an extremely difficult repair, due to having to remove the bed/cab for replacement and access to it. the fuel and brake lines are improperly routed from the factory, causing premature failure due to corrosion and salt damage. in my opinion, there should be a recall and this inherently dangerous problem rectified. the brake lines on this same truck failed from corrosion two years ago. same scenario, improper routing causing excessive and premature failure from rust and corrosion due to the location they are in. *tr

Faulty fuel gauge and fuel pump 2000 chevrolet silverado 1500 . fuel gauge has not been working for years. decided to have it repaired along with fuel pump. *tr

2005 replaced rear brake line had corroded through less than 40,000 miles on 2000 chevrolet silverado 1500 4x4 regular cab. also noted driver side rockerpanel rusted through. 8-2011 gas tak strap both completely corroded through dropping gas tank on the ground. noted during replacement that truck bed cross members are rusted or rusting through so bed will no longer be attached to anything once completely corroded. *tt

Brake line failure on 2000 chevy silverado 1500. has happened twice due to lines rusting out, and now mechanic says fuel lines are rusting out. i live in ky with little salt and have heard numerous other complaints about the same issue. driving along and bam, no brakes due to corrosion. last time it happened to my wife and pregnant daughter in law. someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed if it hasn't already happened. gm has our tax dollars and should use some of it to recall and fix this deadly problem. this is costing between $400.00 to $600.00 to repair. local mechanic has said it is a constant problem with these vehicles in this year range, along with tahoes. *tr

Fuel tank rear mounting strap corroded thru strap on outer side of truck. break occurred about 1" down of the top of the rubber chaff protective coating. rubber coating provided a pocket to trap moisture and increase rate of failure. forward strap has similar damage but has yet to fail. failure of second strap could have lead to fuel tank falling onto the road during driving conditions. please contact me to view components. date of removal will be feb 20th 2007. *jb

Rear gas tank strap has carroded thru, this was noticed when iwas having new tires put on. the truck has 84000 miles on it. i have not yet fixed the problem cause it was found yesterday. i usually keep a vehical about 10 yrs., and never ran into this problem . the straps should last longer than 6-7 yrs.

Fuel lines running under the truck are rusted , causing a leak when the truck is running and thereafter until the fuel line is drained when the motor is turned off. *nm

I have a 2000 chevy tahoe. the vehicle was emitting an odor of gasoline and leaking gasoline from the gas tank. the vehicle is in the mechanic shop for service. the problem area was located and determined to be the fuel module connector leaking gas. *nm

I have a 2000 chevrolet k1500 pickup with 43,000 miles on it. the throttle has began to occasionally stick, and the dealer says that it is normal and the throttle body has to be cleaned at a cost of approximately $140. when the throttle sticks from a "standing start", the vehicle lurches forward (or backward if in reverse). i have owned a dozen vehicles in my life, and none of them have ever had this problem. yet, service advisors at walser chev say this is a common problem with my type pickup. i believe this is a manufacturing defect, and should be recalled. *nm

To much pressure needed to push accelerator pedal when starting out from idle causing vehicle to lurch suddenly whether in forward or reverse. this is especialy dangerous in a parking lot where people may be walking behind vehicle. dealer fix only lasted temporarily. this problem is now happening on a daily basis.

'the pads rusted to the rotors, destroying the rotors. i had to have all the rotors and pads replaced. since then have had to replace the pads and rotors two more times. i've also had to replace the rear calipers and the backing plates at less than 100,000 miles. i've had to replace the abs sensors and grease boot s on the front axels. replaced the universal joint, the four wheel drive switches twice, the power window mechanisms, the tail gate straps and the lever--which isn't working right again, the gas tank strap, rusty fuel lines and brake lines, and the differential cover that rusted out. also the air conditioning pulley. *tr

the fuel tank fill neck is lacking the proper rust inhibiting coatings this then is causing the metal neck where the fill nozzle enters to rust out.. this causes gas vapors to escape the fuel tank. also the ground strap is of poor construction. this then corrodes into dust... these facts will on an unsuspecting vehicle owner cause a potential explosion/fire when refueling... *tr

2000 chevy silverado1500 v6 stalls when driving. no check engine light to indicate any issues with engine. dealer replaced catalytic converter but cannot offer any reason as to why this occurs. i have replaced the spark plugs, distributor and rotor button. this happens sporadically and can not be traced to any one source by me. i have noticed that the last couple of times it was raining. this has been on going for about 4 months. when this happens i lose the ability to use the brakes and is very hard to control.*tr

1. the first incident with the transmission going out was a factory defect. it had problems going into reverse and it would get stuck between 1st and 2nd gear it was replaced free of charge. 2. the second incident was a o-ring busted loose from the radiator that connected the transmission line to the radiator and spurted transmission fluid on the exhaust manifold and spark plug wires with caused the engine compartment to catch on fire. the replaced what they felt needed to be replaced.
