We have classified the 51 complaints from 2007 Chevrolet Impala about SUSPENSION into the following categories.

Recently reported SUSPENSION problems on 2007 Chevrolet Impala

While driving on a road my tie rod broke causing me to lose control of the car. it completely turned around and landed in some trees.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. while driving at approximately 55 mph, the vehicle veered off the road independently. the vehicle was diagnosed by both the dealer and an independent mechanic and they both confirmed that the rear axle would need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 20,000. the vin was unavailable.

Vehicle was being driven on a straight dry road when it started to drift and go out of control causing the vehicle to crash into a tree. *tr

Excessive wear on inside edges of rear tires i'm just fortunate i caught the wear early . so i brought it to my local chevy dealer for a 4 wheel alignment. i was told that both rear spindle rods needed replacing to the tune of $700.00. the service dept. told me they could not get enough adjustment in the current spindle rods to bring the alignment into spec. and there is an updated part to replace them. gm has known about this problem since 2009 and it effects both 2007 and 2008 chevy impalas. they did a recall on 07 and 08 police versions of the impala but not on the civilian version. the nhtsb needs to take a hard look at this design problem before someone is hurt or killed due to a blow out. *tr

Driving approximately 50 mph due to icy/snowy conditions on highway, car had poor traction and rear end was swaying, fish tailing.. when on dry pavement if road conditions are rough, bumpy or has man holes the rear sways when these areas are driven over at multiple speeds. *tr

In november of 2013 i noticed weird tire wear on my 07 impala lt (rear).. thought it was due to low grade tires so i purchased a two better tire for the rear.. march 16 2014 i received a flat while parked... attempted to change and inside tire wear four months brand new tires destroyed. so i researched why this would happen and found out that gm had class action lawsuit against them for know about this and only recalling law enforcement issued impala's.i purchased the car 2010 and november 2013 is when i first seen problem. *tr

I have 2007 chevy impala....i have trouble with my electrical...examples: radio lighting dim or normal, alarm for ignitionkey left in place dings muffled or normal ..headlights work or one side or another goes out periodically, visibility...huge windshield post; excessive tire wear at low mileage...suspension problems with "weird tire wear on insides of rear tires; manufact. defect number tsb#08032. and other customer complaints there are ignition problems, fuel tank adhesive problem and a steering knuckle problem; this means ignition can turn off while driving, excessive rear tire wear resulting in tire blow outs(hard to see because it is inside of rear tires and uneven wear, also let us not forget that the fuel can escape from gas tank and cause a fire and windshield posts terrible for visibility etc....gm is well aware of these problems and has recalled police impalas and not civilian owned impalas,,,,could someone please tell me why gm is allowed to make such a vehicle...millions of people have them and are in danger, this was to be my last car..i am a senior, disabled and wanted to be a loyal made in the usa customer...i cannot afford all these repairs and it seems gm is not doing the majority ie out of my pocket. i cannot afford another car and do i pass this on to another person to be unsafe. also i have 63,000 miles on my car and all four doors on the inside need repair due to rust. kept in garage. also noticed another impala has rust spot same place i do on trunk near impala need cambur kit and wheel alignment...purchased new set of tires. *tr

Chevrolet impala displays excessive wear on the inside of the rear tires. i am assuming it is the rear tires as online searches describe the same condition affect the rear tires. the tires were rotated every time the oil was changed, so the front tires show some wear but not nearly the same amount of damage. it is my guess this wearing started before the most recent tire rotation. the tires are worn to the point the cords are showing along the inside of the rear tires. the tire is very rounded on the inside edge of each tire while the outside edge of each tire looks like they did when new. the tires are michelin hydroedge tires with approximately 50,000 miles, they are rated for 90,000 miles. online information says this is a problem with the spindle rods. there is a pending class action lawsuit against "new gm" to honor design problems of "old gm." gm order a recall on all police impalas from 2007-2008 within a vin range to replace the spindle rods. bulletin no. 08032a. also search document pic5406a for more information. this is a severe safety problem which could lead to tire failure while operating the vehicle.!!! *tr

Excessive tire wear, driver side rear tire inside wears abnormally. suspect rear wheel spindle rod, which was recalled for police model but not civilian model for rear wheel misalignment. danger of wear not being noticed since it is excessive on the inside of tire which could result in a tire blow out and crash. *tr

I have not had an incidence but very concerned about the malfunction that is going on with my vehicle at this time..i noticed a scrubbing/grumbling noise when i would turn the wheel either way left or right. after vehicle being put on machine for testing it was discovered that the upper strut mounts and bearing were worn and noisy on front struts......also my abs and traction control light both came on at the same time and would not go off, the information system in vehicle recommended brakes be service.....the results from car being tested showed both front hubs have slack and both front wheel speed sensor harness are coming apart inside wire installation. the codes for abs/traction control is...c0040 00.c0040. *tr

2007 impala ss that i have owned since april 2011 and bought with 24,000 miles.the problem is with rear tires on the car wearing witihin one month after replacing, the instalation of tires is followed by a professional alignment and the tires still wear down to the wires. i have been through several sets of tires and alignments since i purchased the car and have not yet found a fix other than tires and alignment. documents have indicated that there are bad rear spindle rods on the rear of the car that gm has aknowledged are present and gm failed to repair them on all 2007-2008 impalas with the exception of police vehicles (approximately 23,000 police duty cars out of 450,000+ affected). gm will not replace these under warranty and i cannot find a repair for the issue. the car will slip out of alignment within a few days or weeks and cause very dangerous driving conditions if driven on rain, snow or any slippery surface, causing the car to sway in the rear, hydroplane and even lose control. this is an enourmous safety hazard for impala owners and also other drivers that may have an accident due to this issue. *js

*tr

Letter from congressman carter on behalf of constituent re issue of gm's liability for defective parts on cars they manufactured *tgw as a result of a design flaw and defective parts, the tri-coiled rear springs, trailing arms and spindle rods are causing premature wear of rear tires. gm recalled vehicles used in police work; but not the general public. gm says they are not liable, because its 2009 bankruptcy and subsequent reorganization shields them from liability over the alleged design flaws. *tr updated 04/010/12

massive rear tire premature wear caused by defective design and defective tri-coiled rear springs, trailing arms, and spindle rods. *tr

Recently bought 2007 chevy impala for son. this car cannot stay on the road in wet/snow conditions. it fishtails and is scary to drive. i've lived in wisconsin all my life and drove many different cars but never a car as dangerous as this. *tr

Sirs vehicle has just turned over 62,000 miles replaced 4 sets of tires tires wearing out from camber caster problems in rear end g.m. has not had a recall except for 20,000 police made cars mon. 11-28-11 a gm person finally said you have warranty for 100,000 miles take car back to dealer and tell them to fix the vehicle this car has no value anymore dealers don't advertise them for sale anymore in maine papers, they know of the problems. you folks have to demand that g.m. recall and repair every car 2007-2008 impalas with problem. one set of tires on this car wore a strip 2 inches wide from outside edges toward center in 4 months my mechanic who was changing the oil called me out to look at them, he had put them on the car. they were down to canvas and steel belt, my wife drives this vehicle and she never noticed anything this was shear chance in spotting problem i feel this is very dangerous problem. a high speed blowout on inter state, the only place she drives fast to visit kids would have been catastrophe. please take action on these cars 400,000 plus sold and over 20,000 to police which were re-called and fixed best regards [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) *kb

Rear tires wearing too prematurely due to bad engineering and design in the 2007 chevy impala. i'm at 50,000 miles and second set of tires is wearing too soon as well. there is a problem with the suspension & spindle rods angling the tires in the wrong position causing the car to be unsafe during any ice, snow and or slippery conditions. gm has recalled all police vehicles to fix the problem in the exact model car. however, they are leaving the individual owner to scramble and find a solution, knowing it's a dangerous situation. rear spindle rods part numbers 10329689 (2) and 10329691 (2) need to be replaced as noted on bulletin 08032 by gm and they sell a complete kit to correct their mistake. this is a $600 to $700 repair plus new tires g.m. will not replace anything stating this only applies to police vehicles. but all part numbers are the same on police and regular impala's. updated 09/27/11. *tr

Traveling eastbound on i-90, low tire pressure warning came on, i pulled over to check my tires and noticed that just the inside of my rear tires were worn down to the belts, however very little wear on the out side of the tire. i visually checked the tire prior to getting on the highway and did not notice any wear. after doing some research, i found this is a common problem with this model. this is definitely a safety issue.

I bought my car used with 40,000 mile on it. the tires were perfect when i bought it. 9,000 miles later, my front tires kept going flat. i looked at them and the entire inside of the tires were worn through. i took it to the local tire shop and they told me the tires wore like that due to a bad alignment. my steering seemed fine. the manager of the shop came out to tell me that many of his customers with impalas have similar issues. a extra long factory installed camber bolt causes the vehicles to become un aligned, and causes excessive wear on the tires. *tr

Rear suspension is unstable, third set of good rear tires being put on, again. the car now has 69k miles. *tt

I purchased a 2007 chevy impala 3.5 lt in 2011. soon discovered the back end shifts when going over rough, uneven roads and highways. it also shifts when going over manhole covers. when driving in mn snow and ice, it is very unsettling to have the back-end fishtail. i've complained to the local dealership, attorney general, and gm motors hq. i soon learned of the problems and exact same complaints that other 2007 chevy impala owners are having with this car. the other day my son used my car to run an errand and even he noticed that the back-end is faulty. i've had this car aligned two times within six months. i am frustrated that the local dealer will not take the car back and also that gm motors hq will not fix this dangerous problem. i'm stuck with a car that's not safe, thus limiting any freeway driving, especially in winter. *tr

The car has alignment problem. while driving i never felt confident about the feel and felt like traction was not was not good. original set of tires prematurely failed around 30,000 miles. excessive wear on the inside. when complained the dealer said it needed alignment and performed on the front wheels. after that i replaced all 4 tires. upon examining the tires recently i realized that the rear tires are wearing unevenly, inside was wearing fast. the road nose from the rear wheels was increasing steadily. however the front tires seems to be fine. when i called the dealer with the problem, he suggested all wheel alignment for which i will have to pay. i strongly believe the problem was due to defective parts/inspection prior to delivery.

We purchased our 2007 impala ss on 11/17/09 with 33,003 miles on it. on july 20, 2011 while driving home from work with my wife and stepson on the i-94 freeway in clinton township, mi., the leftside rear tire blewout. we notice that it had broke the inner plastic piece and bent the muffler tip and there was clearly no rubber left on the inside of the tire all you saw was wires. had to put our spare tire on. took the car into the tire shop on july 22, 2011 to have that tire replaced, service guy said there was no rubber left on the inside of the left tire in the rear, and the wires were clearly visible and showed us them, which we had noticed when this occurred. he also stated that on the rear rightside the wires were showing too. we had him replace all 4 tires on the vehicle. he also stated that we had been the 4th impala they had replaced tires on in the past week. while on the lift we noticed that the back tires were slightly leaning out, like (/) left side and (\) right side, i told him that i want the tires back and he gave them to me. we took them home and took picks of them and the back of our car to show how the tires were still leaning out, and also took pictures of where the plastic had been broke in the wheel well. this has happened in less than 20,000 mile since we purchased the vehicle. i went to the dealership that we purchased the vehicle from and told the service guy what had happened, he stated that there was no recall as of yet on this problem but that other people had came in with the same complaints, that i should get ahold of gm and see what they say. he told me that he was aware of the police vehicle that had been recalled but as of yet knew nothing about all others. he stated that he wished he could do something for us but there was nothing he could do. when is gm gonna do something about this? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the vehicle was taken for routine mechanic when the contact was informed that the rear tires were worn from the inside. the contact stated that the tired were recently replaced and only traveled approximately 7,000 miles on the tires. the contact believed the failure as caused by faulty suspension rods. the tires were replaced. the contact called the dealer regarding the rear suspension and they advised that there were no recalls related to the failure. the failure mileage was 52,000.

2007 chevy impala exhibits severe wear on two inches of interior rear tires due to factory error.(difficult to see unless you do a visual inspection) both rear tires exposed steel belts with one blowing out at 62 mph. i would have died if on a two lane highway as car was out of control. chevy and g.m. are aware of this problem described in program bulletin 08032 and will only repair "police" vehicles. regular impalas use identical defective parts. my tires were professionally rotated and balanced at 3840,5724,7822,8087 miles driven and blew out at 33,062 michelin "x" tires rated 65,000 mile-my other car had same tires lasted 80,000mi.). rear spindle rods part numbers10329689 (2) and 10329691 (2) need to be replaced as noted on bulletin 08032 by g.m and they sell a complete kit to correct their mistake.this is a $600 to $700 repair plus new tires g.m. will not replace anything stating this only applies to police vehicles. but all part numbers are the same on police and regular impalas. please use all of your resources to complain about this deadly problem. write to your congressmen, state reps. and any one else that will get the message out and try to help save a life. if you see what these tires look like, you will be devastated and glad to be alive. there are hundreds of comments about this unsafe condition on the internet. dealers will not help in any way. this is gm's ultimate disregard for public safety. i have been in law enforcement for more than 30 years, millions of miles driven, no accidents, police cases at 140 miles per hour. never a blowout or have seen such a severe unsafe tire/alignment condition. also a note from the georgia assoc. of chiefs of police dated 23 june 2008 warning members of this deadly defect can be found online (google) please check your tires immediately as your family is at risk. many reports i've read say an alignment won't do, the parts upgrade kits must be installed or condition will persist, tires will wear quickly. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle began to veer out of lane that the contact was traveling in without intent. the failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic four times regarding the defect. the rear tires were replaced twice and the rear brakes were also replaced twice. there was a voluntary recall issued by the manufacturer pertaining to the rear spin rod on the 2007-2008 model year vehicles and the 2008 chevrolet impala police cruisers. the contact did not confirm if the vehicle was included in the recall. the vehicle was not been repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that all four tires and rear struts needed to be replaced. upon returning from a trip, the front drivers side tire was flat. while inflating the tire, the contact noticed that wiring was coming out of the tire. the vehicle was taken to the location of the tire manufacturer, where the contact was informed that the rear struts were faulty and needed to be replaced. the contact was also informed that the vehicle was equipped with a heavier duty police issued suspension system which caused the failure. the manufacturer of the vehicle was then notified and the contact was informed that the vehicle was actually not equipped with the police duty suspension system. the failure mileage was 32,366 and the current mileage was 32,591. updated 9/13/11 *cn updated 2/22/12 *cn

During the recent snow storm, i discovered that my vehicle constantly skidded and the rear of the vehicle swayed back and forth when going over ice or snow at a speed as low as 15 mph. due to this problem, i was almost involved in more than one traffic accidents. i just purchased the vehicle 3 months ago and now feel very unsafe driving it. i did some research and discovered that there are many people out there that experienced the same problem. since this is so unsafe, this vehicle should be recalled and the problem corrected. how can i get this problem fixed? i hate to have to go through the trouble of selling the vehicle due to a manufacturer's defect. *ln

Car is almost undrivable in cold weather climates snow and ice, alignment is so far off due to suspension component problems described by gm in a tsb, rear of car wants to come around, all over the road, scary to drive, tires are worn out on inside edges after 19k of driving,we purchased with 8890k,gm says nothing wrong tsb only pertains to police versions,a crock of s--t,somebody will lose their life in these death traps, looking at over $1100.00 to repair replace tires and components with alignment on a car with 19k,should have gone out of business, unsafe car to drive.

2007 chevrolet impala ltz wears rear tires on the inside of the tire and can cause tire failure. the car tends to skid side ways on wet pavement because of the lack of tire contact with pavement. *tr

2007 impala has bad rear end alignment, new tires bought in january 2011, already showing uneven wear on rear tires only. the damage is on the inner part of the rear tires. i should not have to pay out of my pocket for the rear cam kit to be installed to fix the problem. *tr

I had my transmission repaired when the technician realized my brand new tires were worn to the cords on the inside. they said it was the shocks and struts . when they called to get the warranty to cover the problem the warranty inspector said it wasn't the problem. the problem was an alignment problem that required holes to be drilled and a bolt be put in. this is something that gm knows about because they have a kit but the warranty considers this an update not a problem. i have to repair this problem and replace new tires. i want to know why gm isn't recalling the car to put these bolts in. *ln

Vehicle performed poorly over 35 mph on highway with the rear of the vehicle swaying excessively during snowy or wet conditions. the tires on the back of the vehicle wore prematurely on the inside . i purchased four sets of new back tires in a span of 4 months and had to have two alignments done at separate times because the first didn't initially fix the problem. it came to a point that i was frightened to drive my vehicle during snowy or wet conditions in fear of causing a major accident. i have spent roughly $700 on this issue and believe it could have been resolved if gm would have addressed the consumer's vehicle problem initially. *tr

2007 chevy impala - rear suspension problem results in dangerous stability issues in ice, snow, and rain. the rear end of the car slides around making it difficult to stay on the road and in my lane. also results in uneven and fast tire wear. gm has admitted there is an issue (bulletin 08032), but will only apply to government cars. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice for concerns with the front suspension. the dealers were unable to locate of duplicate the failure. late while the contact was driving 65 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle that was driving alongside him. the front passenger tire and suspension components fractured from the vehicle, causing the vehicle to go airborne and land on the fractured parts. the contact and a passenger were injured and transported to the hospital via ambulance. a police report was available. the vehicle was towed to an auto center and was destroyed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 45,000.

The 2007 chevrolet impala is an extremely unsafe automobile in wet or snow/ice conditions, even sand or salt; this car is the worst handling automobile possibly ever designed by gm. the impala's rear end slides left or right with only a minimal amount of debris, water, or snow on the road. this is not just a little slip now and again, it is uncontrollable and an extreme safety hazard. every person that has had any dealings with this type of car will tell you the same thing. ask any mechanic, dealership, tire sales rep, and most of all, a 2007 chevy impala owner and all will attest to the poor design of this car. my wife and i will not, or should say cannot, drive this car when there is any sign of rain or snow in the forecast. something must be done about this car. not only is there a handling problem, but tire wear is almost unbelievable. the alignment specifications are at such extremes that tires are ruined in 10,000 miles or less. when looking at the car from the rear, the impala's wheels tilt in to the point it looks as though they could collapse inward under the car. i have had the dealership and two different alignment shops check the alignment and all say the same; the car is within specs and to be extra careful as that the handling of these cars are unsafe. what gives? does it take a fatality to occur before gm will do anything about this design flaw? please look into this matter, lives depend on it. anyone, and i mean anyone, who drives this car cannot deny there is something seriously wrong the 2007 chevrolet impala. a final note, it was brought to my attention that all police cars of this type were recalled for this very problem, is that indeed the case? if so, what about my family's safety and every other family that owns one of these cars? do we not deserve the same protection? *tr

I have had to replace the rear tires on my chevrolet impala twice in under 20,000 miles due the rear suspension spindles being worn. the discount tire representatives report that they see at least two impalas a week with the same. problem. only replaced in police impalas.. *tr

First snow storm i drove this car in, the cars rear end slides all over the road. i have driven in snow all my life and this was the scariest vehicle i have ever drove in slick weather. i changed the tires believing this was the problem only to see that the rear tires are both wearing on the inside. after having this car for over a year the rear end feels like it slides back and forth and is at its worst in rain and especially snow. i see there are many complaints of this kind for this car. the rear end sliding around and the inner tires on the rear end wearing out quickly. i really like everything else about this car and i have a truck that i drive during bad weather. i would hope that chevrolet would do something to fix this problem. i will sell or trade the car before i will ever drive it in snow and i cannot afford to keep tires on the rear end. *ln

i recently noticed that my 2007 chevy impala is very dangerous in inclement weather. tonight i almost died! while i was traveling on the interstate the car swerved out of control consistently for at least 10 miles. semis were surrounding me as my car was going out of control. after reading similar complaints i've realized that this may be a manufacturing issue and not the tires that i recently put on. i was literally scared to death. how can the us government allow this issue to go unchecked. hey why don't we just bail out some more us auto companies like gm so they can keep making pos cars. *tr

Traveling down fm 247 south in huntsville, tx. @ posted speed of 60 mph around the time of about 1:10 pm, when my rear tires involuntarily swerved causing my vehicle to steer cross lanes and crash off road onto grassy and wooded shoulder. crashed into debris including trees limbs, stumps. crash caused personal injury and damage to vehicle. *tr the consumer stated gm was well aware that the chevrolet impala's were within the recalled vin breakpoint. they were equipped with an identical frame, chassis, suspension, spindle rods as the police package listed for the recall. updated 08/09/12 updated 08/14/12 the consumer is requesting nhtsa policy when an auto manufacturer is to file a recall with the public. updated 05/08/14

Had clunk noise coming from rear suspension when going over even the smallest bump or crack in the road. took back to dealer and they found the cross members of the chassis - bolts had worked loose. they tightened them. no more noise so far. *tr

2007 chevy impala - very dangerous to drive on slick roads - abnormal rear tire wear due to alignment issues - wears out tires in approximately 15000 miles due to excessive inner wear / camber out of alignment. *kb

I've had to replace rear tires every 23,000 miles. took car to chevy dealer and he told me that the holes for the struts would have to be elongated and modified with a camber kit at my expense or else the rear alignment would not be according to specs. i paid for front and rear alignment, chevy will not pay for this unless its a police car. it is a factory defect, there are a lot of the same model year chevrolets with the same problem. *tr

My 2007 impala tires wore out prematurely. i noticed the tires starting to wear out on the inside at about 6,000 miles and had the tires aligned and rotated. the tires continued to wear out on the inside. i brought this to the attention of luck chevrolet at about 32,000 miles and they said gm would not cover this repair under the warranty. however they did say there was a problem and a kit could be installed to correct. i replaced the tires and had goodyear install the camber kit to correct the problem. i spent $800 for new tires wheel alignment and the camber kit. *tr

2007 chevrolet impala. premature tire wear*cw the consumer also has another complaint with a different vehicle. odi # 10334853. updated 06/04/10.*jb the consumer is requesting an inspection of the vehicle. he would like the struts and front end to be inspected. updated 08/12/10*jb

I have a 07 chevy impala ss. i replaced the tires sept 28, 2009, had them rotated at a gm dealer in jan 10 when i got an oil change. my husband was doing some brake work 2 weeks ago and noticed my tires were completely bald on the inside edges. after researching the issue, my car has a manufacturers defect (tsb # 08032) and gm engineers created a camber fix kit for the issue but gm will only pay for repairs if the car is coded as a "police vehicle". i was on hold for over an hour in an hour an a half conversation with chevy customer service this week. they told me they would document it but basically sorry for your luck. i asked for a manager and after a 3 minute conversation she hung up on me saying she would note my case as "dissatisfied" but there was nothing else they would do. she said all i could do was contact nhtsa and place a complaint. i don't believe gm is standing behind their product as their new tv ad eludes when they know there is a problem, fix it for their fleet customers, but refuse to help the average citizen. from reviewing the complaint site many others have had the same issue with their impala. gm won't help the average citizen fix this manufacturers defect unless a recall is issued; these were the words of the customer care rep i spoke with. please review all the complaints on this issue, request gm provide their company stats on the fleet vehicles they've fixed, and issue a recall for this issue. this should have been covered as my car is under full warranty at this time but they look at this issue as an alignment issue not a rear suspension issue (which is what it is) to get themselves out of paying for their mistakes. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that the rear tires were replaced three times within the last year due to excessive tread wear and blowouts. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the rear suspension was realigned and the struts were replaced, but the repairs did not remedy the failure. the contact was also informed that there was an arm kit that could be installed on the vehicle to remedy the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the situation and the contact was informed that the arm kit would not remedy the failure. additional repairs were not performed. the failure mileage was 57,059 and the current mileage was unknown.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the contact stated the rear end of the vehicle was out of alignment twice each time the rear tires had to be replaced. the manufacturer stated it was not a known failure. the dealer stated the manufacturer was repairing police vehicles with the identical failure. the contact was concerned about the safety defect. the failure mileage was 43,000 and the current mileage was 72,000. ....updated 12/03/12 *bf

This complaint is about my 2007 chevy impala. on 3/31/10 i was on the highway coming back from florida when my rear tire started loosing air. i immediately got off the highway and found a tire repair shop in barnesville ga. they looked at my back tires and both were worn on the inside as though my rear end was out of alignment. i had to get 2 new tires for the back. the original tires had 37,000 miles on them. cost of the new tires were $296.23. then when i got back home i took it to the chevy dealer where they said i needed a 4 wheel alignment at a cost of $89.95. i recently read in the paper that this problem may have been caused by a defective spindle rod that the dealer should have known about. *tr
