The equinox is burning oil way to fast. i am not the only owner with this problem. i was quoted $1100 to repair the piston/gasket issue and the garage said that i'm not the only equinox owner to have this problem. they should do a recall on this issue. my oil is changed religiously every 5000 miles. *tr

Replace engine at 54,204 miles and had 11 oil changes. was told i didn't change oil enough or checked levels at every fuel fillup. also was told notice was sent out that computer needed to be reset to alert for more frequent oil changes, which was done at time on engine replacement. letter was sent to me last month stating i may be due reimbursement but after i dropped of all paperwork at dealership where car was bought last month, i checked last week and they can't find paperwork and nobody has called back to tell me what to do next. total incompetency by the dealer as they told me that my vehicle wasn't even registered as being bought at this dealer.
As a was driving into parking lot, my engine shut off while driving. i had to put the vehicle in park and restart the vehicle. after putting the vehicle back into drive, the vehicle stalled again. i ended up having to have the vehicle towed since it was not safe to drive. *tr
Driving slowly the engine and entire electric system shuts down and the car just turns off while driving. then you have to put it in park and start the car back up and then it happens again. *tr
I believe that my car has on at least 4 occasions done the same thing that they are recalling all other gm cars for. first time it totally shut down while i was driving. on subsequent incidences it was as i put my foot on the brake before backing up. this also happened once when my husband was driving. *tr

The 2012 chevy equinox stall constantly below 30 mph. it stalls at least 2 to 3 times trying to back out of garage to move it 10 feet. the idle starts off smooth but within 10 seconds the equinox starts idling rough and jerking, then it stalls. when stopped at stop light the equinox jerks back and forth, when i give it gas to go, the equinox jerks forward and usually dies on me. it burns a large amount of gas and oil, i have to refill the oil up at least once a week.i have changed the oil myself and found the oil is saturated with metal filings. the check engine light comes on and off repeatedly. i have already replaced the battery twice because of a dead cell. i have replaced the front right tire due to a blow-out at 24,000 miles and dealership refused to replace it, saying i hit something and it could not have blown out. the entire navigation system in out and the lights flicker in the cup holders. the tire pressure sensors when out for at least 5 days and it started working again with no repair of the system. this is not a safe vehicle to drive considering, i don't know when it is going to stall driving down the highway. a recall is mandatory for full replacement!!!! *tr
I filed a different report earlier for the same vehicle. now the vehicle is starting on its own, if the key is left in the ignition when you turn it off, about 30 seconds to 1 minute later the car will start with no one behind the wheel. it will continue to try to start until you pull the key out. it is just the key in the ignition, no key chain hanging from it. last week apr 29,2014 the car started and ran for 10 second with the ignition off. how long before the vehicle jumps into gear and runs someone over with no one behind the wheel? i found out that this website does not investigate any report unless you pay $50.00 plus, whatever else they want for it. *tr

We buy this car from chevrolet company on november 14,2011. since that time the car was not in often use. up to one year it is was in the storage when we began to use it regular we note that the engine has some factory defect, the engine oil is often did non receive to even 5000 miles, at the 2500 miles estimetely, we were force to always change oil, the oil color of the engine was always very black as dirty, we always were wondering, why the color of the engine oil is turns very black, like we did not changed it for long time.
After 36k miles, the car steering would stick and slip. pa dealer could not replicate as this would happen at higher speed 65mph. but, under extended warranty, the dealer replaced the steering rack due to a technical bulletin report about steering sticking/slipping. the problem went away and came back after 36k more miles on the new steering rack. car is at va dealer today for diagnostic test as i moved. car also hesitates and jerks back when accelerating and has done that since a year after owned vehicle. love the car design but i am afraid to drive it as i feel like i don't have control over steering. at times steering feels loose car has slipped on ice and cannot control steering. i'm very disappointed and feel the steering design is poor. steering rack design is a simple concept and don't understand why this is a poor design. i'm skeptical about keeping the car as i don't feel safe driving. *tr
Ses, air bag stabilitrak and abs lights illuminated. auto reduced power down to idle. when turned off and re-started, power returned to normal. this has happened four times since purchased new. the high pressure fuel pump has been replaced three times and the fuel sensor has been replaced once, requiring the gas tank to be removed in order to replace sensor. also, airbag system inoperable twice since new, with sensors being replaced twice. vehicle currently has 27,000 miles, still has bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty and is being processed through an attorney firm applying the lemon law. gm has made two low offers. negotiations are still pending. owner has lost all interest and trust in vehicle. *tr
I purchased the car in april of 2012 and started experiencing issues with the vehicle within the first 10,000 miles. the car would stall and shut off while in motion either after a short idle while at a stop sign or red light, or even while parking both in drive and reverse. the car will shake aggressively while in motion and lurch forward both while stationary and in motion. the tire pressure could never stay balanced and would constantly inform me of leaking even after replacing the tire multiple times. the windshield wipers randomly shut off while in motion during storms leaving me completely blind. the dealer informed me that there was a recall for the 2013 equinox windshield wipers but would not extend the recall to my 2012 equinox with the same issue. the car consumes oil at a faster than normal rate and has required frequent oil changes and filter and has never displayed an engine or oil light to inform me of the issues. the car shuts off while in motion and stationary quite frequently. the car struggled to start one day and after my third attempt finally turned over but only at half power and while attempting to drive back home, the engine collapsed and quit on me. i had the car towed and upon inspection by a chevrolet dealer and was informed that the engine had completely failed and there was metal pieces in the oil. the car is not working currently as it hasn't been for most of it's life as i continue to make payments on an overpriced piece of metal that can't safely transport my family.
My vehicle keeps red lining at 6000 rpms and bangs into gear..been at the dealer many times and they say nothing's wrong but keep replacing parts...my car is still under warranty and now they wanna charge me for a transmission i have every record since we bought the car that this problem has been happening since day 1...the vehicle is in motions and it happens at different speeds i also have videos of it acting up
I'm not sure a time frame because it happens once a month up to a few times a month. while driving or stopped my car turns off, it started back up but i've almost been hit on the highway. *tr
When stopped at a stop sign or red light sometimes the engine tries to cut out, and the car jerks like it is trying to stay cranked. i have a friend that has a gm terrain and hers does the same thing. when turning there is a knocking in the steering. the speakers have a rattling sound like they are busted, but it doesn't do it all of the time. i took my car to the dealer, but of course they couldn't find anything wrong with it, the car now has 23,000 and it still hasn't been fixed. (this has been going on since september of 2011 when i bought the car). *tr
