Ever since owning the cruze, we've had nothing but engine issues. first the turbo went out a month after purchasing the car. two thermostats and a complete oil flush. the engine blew at 104,023 miles. the car was flashing engine light and stabiltract light. the car since owning has made a very loud ticking noise. the car also had a hard time maintaining speed. acceleration and deceleration. this happened any time the vehicle speed was over 30mph.
A/c off due to high engine temp warning on the dash. tried resetting ecu, didn't work. no check engine light on. changed both coolant sensors and still broken. replaced old broken thermostat with a new factory sensor, and 4 months later it's already broken.
On multiple occasions while car is driving, check engine light turned on and car was unable to accelerate. (also happened once after car had been parked) it only lasts about an hour before car can accelerate again and then check engine light will eventually turn off. also, car feels rough shifting between gears and has trouble accelerating often.
During diagnostic found excessive oil mixed in with the coolant all through the engine. removed spark plugs and found cylinder #4 had coolant on top of the piston and the spark plug was saturated in coolant as well. removed cylinder head and cleaned head gasket sealing surface. inspected for any signs of cracks and found none. using a straight edge could not find any areas of the cylinder head that were warped or damaged indicating a head gasket failure. however only found oil in cooling'system but no coolant in the engine oil. removed oil drain plug and found no signs of coolant. removed transmission drain plug and found no coolant in the transmission fluid either. after inspecting oil cooler found it had internally failed causing the oil to leak in to the coolant. recommend replacing head gasket, radiator inlet hose, oil cooler inlet hose, heater core inlet hose, heater core outlet hose, both turbo charger cooler hoses, the turbo charger oil inlet pipe and the turbo charger oil return pipe. after completing repairs cleaned cooling system and flushed with warm water 4 times before filling cooling system with ...
Chevy cruze 2013 ltz turbo, i have the paperwork stating it is turbo. i took it to a dealerships because check engine light came on. i was told it was fine. they cleared everything. i have been told different things whether it has turbo or not. the turbo was supposedly checked several times since i bought it. the mechanic at dealership said it did not have turbo. i asked the head mechanic to drive the car with me in it. he did, the head mechanic convinced me it had turbo and it was working fine, i said it doesn't act like it to me, he said this is all its got and that's it, the car is fine. the head mechanic said it was fine, i said something is not right, he convinced everything was and to push the clear button when it would be and it would be fine. this happened between 2014 and 2018 this has happened over the years. i was told to basically touch the clear button. codes started to pop up; it started with the window. i ...
Purchased vehicle used 8/2017. 5/2018 car smoking and overheating while driving. water pump replaced. still having issues with car overheating while driving, i was replacing coolant about once a month. twice the thermostat housing was replaced, 8/2018 and 11/2018. car had issues again overheating while driving in 4/2019. an intercooler pipe, pvc pipe, water pipe, and water hose were replaced. my check engine light came on again in 9/2019, many issues were found but i only had enough money to repair the catalytic converters. at this point i was replacing coolant every two weeks to avoid the engine overheating and at times it was a visible puddle coming from under the car. 11/20/2019 i returned to get a sensor and another thermostat housing replaced. 11/27/2019 i had the car towed to the shop after my vehicle began smoking while driving. i pulled over and coolant was quickly dripping out from under the car. the radiator was cracked and needed to be replaced. when the car was returned to me i noticed that the engine was noisy and there was a screechy sound upon acceleration. i had trouble picking up speed. i got to the gas station about a mile away ...
Car had been repaired for a cracked radiator. diagnostic test showed that turbocharger is malfunctioning. upon starting the vehicle there was issues with engine the engine stalling. upon driving the acceleration of the vehicle is abnormal, loud engine noises upon acceleration and and car does not pick up speed at a fast enough rate to safely merge into traffic and navigate at a safe speed.
The transmission in the car has trouble shifting into second gear. sometimes the engine will just rev up and will not actually accelerate.
My service engine light has come on and not it will not shift gears all the time. sometimes it drives forward. sometimes it doesn't. i need this issue to be addressed. when you have over 100 complaints for the same thing corporate needs to listen. if someone dies because of this no amount of compensation will be enough
