My car has been blowing light bulbs very frequently. i noticed that the wire what is chard and burned and naked resulting in the wires touching each other and causing my lights to fail. i replace the wiring harness once and two months later the insulation was burnt off of the wire again. there has been 2 instances where ive been driving and my headlights have went completely out at night time and i live in a rural area where there's not a lot of street lights. it almost caused me to wreck. it's not just my vehicle that has this issue. i have three friends who either drive a regal themselves or have a close family member that has one and all three of them have told me that they're experiencing the same issues. this is definitely a safety concern. and if it were to happen to somebody else who was maybe not so lucky it could have caused a fatal accident.

Whenever i am driving my vehicle for an hour it starts to stall or sputter in traffic and the engine dies completely. it will restart but still continues to hesitate when accelerating. i've taken it to a mechanic and no error codes pop up when this happens so they do not know the cause or how to fix the issue.

Takata recall - there is an issue with the ballast in the hid headlamp assembly for the cxl turbo model. the seal may be faulty due to the headlamp shorting out except for the daytime running lights. they shorted out right after a heavy downpour and i was stopped by a police officer and told that they (the headlights) were out. i got out of the vehicle and looked at the the lights only to realize that they had malfunctioned and there was moisture in the assembly itself.

The throttle body has a defect which shuts off all power to vehicle with no notice. the engine and transmission lock up you lose all steering control and no brakes. also no lights so when it happens at night it is pitch black. gm does know about the problem and when i questioned them about the loss of life like what happend with the chevy cruze all members of gm are told to hang up the phone. it has happend on several occasions and the dealership sent me back on the road knowing the problem. dealer rep said if i was a better customer thay may have done more for me.

The vehicle seems to want to cut off while at a traffic light! i simply do not understand why the engine seems to be so loud. i had both shocks and struts replaced after purchasing this vehicle. the entire frame seems to nose dive or "wander" while i am driving on the highway, totally uncomfortable feeling. tires are basically new i just don't know what seems to be going on with this car!

Vehicle had recall 12212"a" performed in oct of 2014 at delarship, this results in sometimes if not every time of a mis-calibrated brake position sensor. the mis-calibration results in my vehicle requiring the brake pedal to be depressed almost to the floor before the park position disengagement sensor is activated. it is at this point when the brake lights are activated. this extra pedal travel results in me being able to come to a rapid stop from 85 miles an hour on the freeway without any rear brake lights activating. the brake lights are not intermittent, they activate every time the pedal is pressed far enough, while driving this is only at the point when abs would be activated under emergency braking. buick/gmc is aware this is the case and issued recall 12212"b" on oct 11, 2016 which reads: "this bulliten has been revised to include a note before step 4 of the service procedure. please discard all copies of bulliten 12212a." the note states: "the brake pedal position sensor calibration must be performed after the brake pedal position sensor, bcm, ecm, or hpcm have been serviced." buick/gmc has not informed drivers under the original 12212a recall that their brake lights will not activate because of this recall service and have refused to honor this newly updated procedure on my vehicle and shows as "complete" on nthtsa website. bottom line the original botched 12212a results in brake lights not activating and anyone that had 12212a done should get 12212b notification and recall coverage.

Last nite, 9:30 pm we came out of publix parking lot doing an easy left. the engine shut off, all lights lit up on dash and center console lit up saying "lower driver window.." followed by "lower passenger window"!! we coasted to side of road, put it in park then it started and we got home. this morning, a easy right onto highway and locks opened and closed by themselves at about 30 mph! during the hwy drive, at 75mph car stutters, engine whines then catches itself, all dash lights come on and the engine light blinks 3 times then goes out! what the he**.. could have died!

Replaced engine a 2.4l laf and transmission a 6t-50 with bad trans @ 149k miles on 2011 buick regal. replacement is 2011 2.4l laf engine and 6t-50 trans w/ 17k miles. car now has p0089 and p228d codes and whine from high pressure fuel pump as described in #pip5203a. turns out original engine is a 2010 engine with all the cam chain issues seen in other nhtsa complaints. to add insult to injury my dealer tells me ecm can not be reprogrammed to 2011 because programming is driven by the vin# only. my only choice is to buy the parts from gm (about $1000) to turn my engine back into a 2010 engine or pay a dealer several thousand dollars to do the work. i`m in a position of paying several thousand dollars more for the car then it is worth. this was to be my retirement gift to myself, guess i will be driving my 1997 pontiac grand am until i drop dead. thanks gm, my brand loyalty sure pays off. my advice to future car buyers, buy another brand!! p.s. i hope this constitutes some emission violation and the epa hits gm with a multi million dollar fine. p.s.s. it dies on the road to. where is marry b. when you her?

My daughter drives our 2011 buick regal cxl that we purchased in february 2016. in the last several month the vehicle has stalled, steering locks up, brakes go completely out, it doesn't have an electrical and because it has an electric emergency brake there is no way for her to stop. the first two times she was driving around town and the last time it happened was last week at 70 mph on the highway. she almost hit the car in front of her. once it coasted to a stop she was able to start it and continue on. this gm vehicle 2011 buick regal is a death trap waiting to happen. don't buy a buick!!! i picked it up from the local buick dealer yesterday and they can't do anything. once the vehicle is restarted after one of these incidents the computers automatically resets and wiped clean of codes without any trace of a problem or issue. all the errors completely disappear. the service person at the dealership asked me if i had a decoder i could plug in right after it happens. this problem is all over the internet and buick does nothing. you can bet that a gm executive would decline an offer for one of his/her family members to drive it for a while. make no mistake these cars shut down completely without any warning and absolutely nothing works at the moment. no steering, no brakes, stalled engine, and no electrical. absolutely nothing!!! all buick says base on online comments is sorry. sorry for what? killing people? not giving a [xxx] about my family or yours? if they were sorry they'd step up and do the right thing before its too late and someone dies. insurance companies are probably paying out lots of money to their insured and the people they hit, injure or kill. i bet they would love to hear more about this issue. be carefully what you buy because you might be surprised by your car right before you crash. i've always likes gm and buicks but not anymore. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

In august 2016, i received an "important safety recall" #30710 from buick. the explanation was "the wiring harness for the power seats may contact the seat frame, chafe, a short circuit could occur, resulting in inoperative power seat adjustments, flickering lights on the instrument panel, sparking or smoke under the seat, and possible fire." having not heard anything, i contacted my agency on 9/22/16 and was told "no parts were available." on 11/23/16, burns buick said, "gm has no solution. i contacted gm and spoke with [xxx] who did not have an answer. on 11/30/16, gm's [xxx] suggested that no date or supplies have been set. do i need to have a fire in my car while my grandchildren are in the back seat for gm to finally determine this is really an "important safety recall?" why should it take 5 months without any solution? i ride in fear everyday knowing that i am sitting on a time bomb. please condemn this failure to provide solutions to this problem and fine them so that they do not do it to anyone else in the future. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I have the recall on the power seat wiring and my heated seats heat to a level then shut off continuously. i have a friend had the same issue in a camaro and had chafed wires to the heated seat. i refuse to pay for this repair and now in michigan it is very cold and i bought this car to have heated seats for a reason. the copied information is below on the recall. the dealer keeps telling me no parts are available but here i am stuck with a potential fire hazard with no repair. manufacturer: general motors llc summary: general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2011 buick regal vehicles manufactured november 3, 2009, to march 25, 2011, equipped with 8-way power adjustable front seats. the power seat wiring harness may contact the seat frame, causing the wires to chafe. consequence: chafed harness wires may cause a short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. remedy: gm will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and secure the wiring harness, and repair any chafed wires as necessary, free of charge. remedy parts are currently unavailable. interim notices were mailed to owners on august 18, 2016. owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. owners may contact buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. gm's number for this recall is 30710.

While driving the car, it stalled and cut off while in the midst of making a right hand turn. all power was on temporarily but the engine was unable to turn over after cutting out. the dealership is unable to diagnose the issue, and apparently the issue has occurred before to the previous owner. the car is still under a 5 year 100,000 powertrain warranty. it appears no proper diagnosis has occurred and this issue has been occurring on the car since approx. 52,000 miles current millage is 75,900. i have referenced previous tsb nhtsa id 10037218 to the dealership and have received no response as of yet as to the underlying issue. i have discovered other owners having similar issues on websites such as carcomplaints.com and various buick regal forums. this appears to me as a major safety issue as when the car shuts off it does not power back on, and it cuts seemingly randomly.

The driver side light bulb & connector melted. bulb can not be replaced because housing is damaged. contacted the dealer and i was told this is not covered by any recalls. i would be responsible for any parts. this is definitely a factory defect and car is not safe to drive. the only way to fix this per the dealer is to replace complete headlamp assembly.

The car stalled today after reversing out of my parking spot and shifting into drive. this is the 3rd time in my 14 months of owning the car that this has happened. it only happens right after turning the car on. the steering goes out and the engine stalls, but the electronics remain on, it's a lot like what happens when you run out of fuel but my tank is full. the dealer cannot replicate the issue and will not do anything. they claim they've never heard of this issue before.

The check/service engine light comes on. after a few days it goes away. i have had the codes read and the issue cannot be determined. sometimes the acceleration from stop does not respond timely. it makes it difficult when merging on freeways. i was almost involved in a car accident when the first incident occurred due to slow response of acceleration. maf has been clean. the a new maf was installed. nothing has changed. also i am not sure if this is related but i cannot run my air conditioner until the car has been running for a few miles. if i do the compressor will make an awful noise. an odor has started to come from the vents when the air is not running.
