Under the hood fire protection materials coming off will not stay in place. notify port charlotte volkswagon for them to directly see. and they had to replace the ignition switch had gone bad . ask why was there not a way to crank the car with a key if the keyless button goes out. they said call a tow truck. i said what if a women and children where in danger and can not get a hold of a tow truck. answers we can do nothing about that. now that is schooling.
Randomly, when accelerating from a full stop, the car will move a couple of feet then lose all acceleration power. stepping harder on the gas pedal does not work. the only way to get the car to accelerate is to entirely disengage and re-engage the gas pedal. this does not happen all the time, no lights or warnings come on and nothing shows up when the repair people hook it up to a computer. this is a huge safety factor as it usually happens when turning left (does not happen when turning to the right. usually, when turning left, a person has traffic coming at them from the right. i have tried several things such as easing on the accelerator, stepping quicker on the accelerator, easing then stepping quicker, nothing seems to matter it still just loses all propulsion at random time but only when starting from a full stop. this happens generally on the city streets and always from a full stop. this began when i got the car (new, only 27 miles on it)
Park pilot not available message shows and shows blank on backup camera and some time while shows while moving forward even though this vehicle does not equipped with this feature
I purchased this vehicle on february 3rd, 2017. for seven months i've experienced escalating health issues such as: 'moderate headaches 'moderate to severe sinus and ear pressure/pain 'lung/throat irritation 'light-headiness 'balance issues 'nausea 'moderate to severe vertigo 'confusion 'memory issues 'and most recently muscle/limb tremors/twitching these symptoms intensify when using the car's hvac unit (heater/ac). or when sitting in the car with the windows up for more than 15-20 minutes (with hvac turned-off). after unsuccessfully attempting to remedy the situation myself by buying and installing a new 'activated carbon' cabin filter and putting bowls of baking soda under my seats (yes, that's how desperate i was) i officially contacted the dealer where i originally purchased the car from. the dealer performed a service called 'air conditioning deodorizing.' unfortunately, for me the service made my symptoms much worse! in addition to the headaches and sinus issues, the service caused the vertigo, confusion, memory, and tremors. eventually, i was referred to vw's 'customer care.' after one call and a few days of 'researching' vw concluded they are not responsible and will not try to remedy the situation. and now i'm stuck with a car that is literally making me sick. very strange that i do not have these symptoms when sitting in other new cars. in conclusion, if you have chemical sensitivities or have very young children who are more susceptible to the effects of volatile organic compounds (vocs), don't buy this car. save yourself and those you love from the hassle of health issues, doctor's visits and dealing with a company who simply, does not care.
