Drains new battery overnight... hear electric component running when opening driver side door gas smell in enclose environment (garage) although no leak found on the floor. ongoing problem, it can go a couple of weeks without recharging battery, but suddenly is dead...

While driving at highway speed the vehicle suffered a sudden and catastrophic failure of the high pressure fuel pump. the vehicle has only 43k on it and was just purchased after receiving the tdi update 3k miles ago. the fuel pump failure occurred around 60-70 mph on the highway and lead to the vehicle losing all power and barely making it to the shoulder of the road. i have now learned that this failure has completely destroyed my fuel system and is not covered by vw even thoughthey are using the same part that they are covering for the 2010-2013 model years they offered an extended warranty on. not only is this incredibly unsafe, as a consumer this type of unpredictable and common failure is unacceptable.

Dec 26 2018 the car stalled as i was backing up out of my parking space, pushed the car back into the space and waited 20 minutes and the car started and i drove it to the vw dealer and was told do not use wawa gas. june 21 2019 the car stalled as i was backing out of a parking space at trader joes pushed the car back into space .waited 20 minutes started car went to the dealer and they said they could not find any problems car had 69,050 miles still under warranty. october 1 st backing out of trader joes parking lot and car stalls again wait 30 minutes and then drive to the dealer and i am told i need a fuel pump and module. and now the car is out of warranty.. i have read that several models of vw have been recalled for the fuel pump but mine was not included.

I experiencing a fuel distribution issue. it appears to be fuel injection system. my car sputters and misfires while driving. the engine readings are constantly changing. the engine idles high while it is stationary. when i accelerate to go up a hill or incline my car sputters uncontrollably. i have replaced the spark plugs and number of other parts but the problem persists.

Vehicle started having issues with the fuel gauge showing that the vehicle was empty when we fill up the tank. after the tanks was about 3/4 or less then gauge will start working. i reported this problem to the dealership when the car was new, but they could not find any issues, at one point, if i remember well they said it was a sensor. the last few months the car started having issues starting and we thought it was the battery. battery was replaced and it happened a few more times, when we parked the car it will not start. the next day starts with no issues for a few days or weeks. finally, on 3/8/19, the car will will not start anymore and it had to be towed. the engine turns and everything looks fine. when i did some research, it shows some fuel pump issues with 2014 volkswagen cc and other models, but not the passat. i remove the back seat of the car to access the fuel pump to check if i can feel the pump running and check if there was power to the pump. to my surprise, when i removed the plug to check the power, the connector was completely corroded and there was some liquid (assume was water) on the connector. i went to the dealership and reported the issue, but i was ignored as they never seen any issues with the pump. on 2014, we bought two passat a few months apart. the first one was having issues when running, the engine stalls. we reported to the dealership and they could not find any issues. after a few accidents scares, meaning it was very close to happens, we had to rid of the other passat last year. now with this issue on the second passat, we think that issues with cars are related. it is strange that some there are recalls for other vw model for fuel pump the same year but not my car. please see the attached pictures. i have the old pump on my possession if needed for any reason.

Engine quits without warning. total loss of power. too many reports of this on internet. very dangerous! quit while driving on major road.

When driving the vehicle at any speeds there is a delay in gas peddle response time of almost 3 to 5 seconds especially if trying to merge into traffic, the gas peddle delays to the point that you almost feel like your not going to make it. it can cause a serious accident . i drive daily from nj to nyc and do not feel safe in this vehicle bc of that delay. i've taken back to the dealer and was told that it is bc of drive by wire technology and turbo system that this is almost normal. i have driven many cars in my life and have never felt unsafe in them. i now how to second guess merging into traffic and feel that if my kids were to drive this car they are not experienced drivers, it would be a very scary situation to put a teenager into.

Car keeps randomly shutting off. loses power while idling and difficult to start. will lose power and cut off also while driving. check engine light will not stay on or come on.

The motor kept making noise didn't know what it was went to volkswagen of memphis the motor had to be replaced, 2 months later smelled gas coming from car the fuel injector had to be replaced, 2 months after that the overheat indicator was on couldn't drive the car the water pump went out was out of several thousands of dollars not happy with the car at all but almost done paying on it will not buy another.

Car shut off on interstate highway during rush hour. car was completely without power and coasting without engine power at all. avoided a serious dangerous hazardous situation which was a life threatening experience. inexperienced driver would have surely been in an accident. my master german mechanics have informed me it is the high pressure fuel pump that failed and left my car vulnerable at 70mph surrounded by rush hour traffic. updated 10/19/2017*js

Driving a 2014 volkswagen passat tdi in heavy interstate traffic on i-24 my high pressure fuel pump failed leaving me stranded in dangerous heavy traffic. i car would not budge, had to be towed in and now facing problems with the dealership and volkswagen of america not wanting to repair a known problematic part--not to mention a dangerous part to fail at anytime while operating a motor vehicle. i practice good maintenance and proper fuel is always dispensed into my volkswagen passat tdi as i'm the only person who fuels this vehicle with diesel. i've driven for ups, been a nurse for 20 years and can honestly say this was a very dangerous situation on the interstate. the volkswagen dealership is located in murfressboro tn, 2203 nw broad st, phone 615-653-4694

I got in an accident on the interstate back in the summer of 2017.. i hit a deer going 70 mph. airbags went off and the body of my car was obviously damaged. after that my car has had oil leaks, break issues, "air bag errors", and way more to list.

On july 24th, we left a parking lot in battle creek and drove about 20 yards on hill brady rd. when there was a loud ripping sound on the right passenger side. we pulled the car over immediately, thinking we'd shredded the front tire. upon inspection, the tire was ok but the car would not restart. the car was towed to maple hill auto group in kalamazoo. upon initial inspection on july 25th, i was told the internal fuel pump exploded, like a grenade, sending metal shards throughout the engine. we have filed a claim with our insurance company and are awaiting further details.

2014 vw passat tdi se 2.0l manual my vehicle has 62,583 mi. on it. i was driving on the highway when the diesel "glow plug" light began flashing on the dashboard and i lost all engine power. i was fortunate to be able to reach the roadside safely and i was able to bring the car to a halt on the roadside. trying to start the vehicle however was not possible, the "glow plug" light continued to flash and the vehicle would not start. vw roadside assistance was called and the vehicle was towed to the nearest vw dealership where i have was given the error code information below and told my turbo and engine need to be replaced but that they are outside of my 5yr/60,000 mi warranty. p0671-cylinder #1 glow plug circuit active/static p0674- cylinder #4 glow plug circuit active/static p2196- o2 sensor signal stuck rich bank 1 sensor 1 active/static p0299- turbo/super charger under boost active/static p13e0-sensor for internal pressire of cylinder #1 malfunction active/static p13d7-sensor for internal pressure of cylinder #4 electrical error active/static p13e1-sensor for internal pressure of cylinder #2 malfunction active/static p13e2- sensor for internal pressure of cylinder #3 malfunction active/static p1007- torque difference cylinder #4 limit value exceeded active/static

I own a vw passat tdi 2014 and just before i took in for it's 40000 mile check up the check engine light showed up. they tell me it's the adblue heater that is at fault. it seems this is a very frequent problem with tdi owners. it's also a +$1000 fix. after some research it seems your agency has had hundreds of complaints regarding this issue. how many have to complain until your agency steps in and makes this an issue to vw of america? they have no interest in fixing this problem and offering owners some relief. well as long as it doesn't affect my mileage i could care less. the balls in your court.

Took our 2014 passat tdi in for a check engine light on 7/18/16 after testing a fault code of p2196 indicated an 02 sensor was faulty. negotiated to $300 to repair/replace unit. picked up vehicle on 7/21/16 after repair was made. on 8/3/16 check engine light again came on. returned to dealer and they indicate that the adblue heater element was faulty. recommend replacing at a cost of close to $1,000.00. since this is part of the emissions issue we feel that this should be covered under any and all warranty. the vehicle has 48,875 miles on it and is only 2 1/2 years old.

Takata recall engine code for malfunctioning adblue heater, requires new adblue tank $1200 not covered under warranty. searching online, a lot of owners having same issue. considering they aren't even using the system, this could be the cause of premature failure of the device. i feel this should be replaced as part of the emissions recall.

Suffered a turbo failure in the middle of the highway.

26,050 miles and looking at a $5,000 repair bill for fuel pump failure! something about ultra low sulfur and lubricity. car just died and had to coast out of traffic

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 volkswagen passat. while driving at 55 mph, the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was restarted, but the failure occurred on two other occasions. the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 39,000. the vin was not available.

Miles on car at failure: 21,755 corrective actions from dealership: replaced turbo, gaskets, reflash, check particulate filter and replace. outside air temps at failure:20s 30s failure warning signs, if any: turbo began making horrible whining sound on sunday afternoon march 8, 2015. called vw 3/9/15 and took to dealer 3/10/15 for emergency appointment prior to 3/12/15 first available appointment. no warning lights or indicators even after 3 days of driving with horrible noise. warning lights on dash/mfi: no lights or indicators problems since replacement: now at 25,766 miles. checked oil cap to change oil every 5k instead of 10k now that out of service contract and noticed particles around oil cap. got magnet and found that many were magnetic. i have videos of the turbo whining before replacement and the magnetic particles identified last evening. oil was not changed as part of turbo replacement nor were the high pressure lines to/from turbo. prior oil change at 19,146 for 20k service. no particles around or in oil cap after that service. turbo occasionally makes a distant whining noise upon startup but stops within a couple of seconds. did the dealership perform all maintenance and on schedule: yes (2 different dealers for maintenance. one did 10k and turbo, the other did the 20k). if not dealership, what oil was used/miles on oil: oil was not changed as part of the turbo failure/replacement. oil lines were not replaced either. 5w40 was used for 20k service at vw dealer prior to turbo failure. do you interrupt dpf regenerators: try not to as most times i can smell the regen and notice the higher rpms and will continue driving. have interrupted a couple that could not be avoided due to paying to park in a garage for work.

When driving car loss of power had towed to vw dealer turbo failure with just 9700 miles. *tr

Takata recall - vw still does not have parts to replace the takata airbags.
