Problems with 2009 Volkswagen CC AIR BAGS

Takata recall - clock spring airbag malfunction. my 2009 cc is not included in the recall however i am experiencing the same issues as the 2010 cc owners vehicle. the airbag light is on and steering wheel functions are not working. i took my vehicle to the volkswagon dealer and they diagnosed the clock spring issue same issue as the recall in model year 2010. if my vehicle has the same malfunction then it should be covered via the recall. the airbag malfunction is a serious safety issue and volkswagen should take precautions to prevent harm to owners of their vehicles

Takata recall i was sent a letter describing this recall and the potential danger to myself of anyone driving the vehicle. it stated that it could deploy at any time and that the shards of metal from the bag could kill or disfigure me and also could harm other motorists. part still is not available. my question is should i continue driving this vehicle and gamble it wont kill myself or others or can i make them furnish me a vehicle until parts are available for the recall repair? thank you: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen cc. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to restart after unknown attempts. the contact mentioned that the failure occurred on two occasions. the vehicle was taken to vacaville volkswagen (21 orange dr, vacaville, ca 95687) where it was diagnosed that unknown parts needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. in addition, the contact stated that there was a loss of power while driving various speeds. the vehicle was taken to the same dealer, but was not diagnosed due to the cost. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact experienced another failure where the steering wheel seized while driving. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or repaired for the failure. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 16v078000 (air bags). the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty. the manufacturer did not offer further assistance. the failure mileage was unknown. vin tool confirms parts not available and parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall vw is not able to tell when a replacement airbag will be available, nor assist with a replacement vehicle. the risks seem to be higher with older cars and given the age of my car this matter should be rated with urgency. it's been over a year since the takata issue was made public and it's unacceptable for a consumer to drive an unsafe car for such an extended period of time.

Takata recall / i would like this problem resolved. my daughter is driving this vehicle. i do not fell that she safe in this car. i just bought this in june of 2014 i was not told of this problem at that time and i know they knew about this. please advise me of what to do in this case before anything happens

2009 volkswagen cc. consumer writes in regards to air bag igniter failure. *smd the consumer stated the onboard computer signaled a problem with the driver's air bag. the vehicle was immediately taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed as an internal failure in the driver's air bag igniter and recommended replacing the faulty device.

Issue happened after incident in august 2011 and progressively became worse. steering wheel will lose electrical power to controls (i.e. stereo controls) and causes airbag warning light to come on and horn will not function at all. dealer looked into issue and found that the clockspring needed replacement. clockspring replaced in steering wheel and airbag issue has been resolved but steering wheel control issue still remains along with not having a working horn. vw usa had no known fix for this issue as al wiring is in working order. dealership requested vehicle be brought back in for a further look. *tr
