I was driving home from work when the battery light came on when i pulled into my drive way. i smelled something burning and there was smoke coming from under the hood of my 2007 yaris. i popped the hood and the alternator was on fire. i poured water on it to put it out and disconnected the battery. it was still making an odd sound so i poured some more water on it and it started smoking again. *tr

Recurrent accelerator pedal failure (drive by wire) with check engine light warning. occasionally, when accelerating, the check engine light comes on and the pedal depressing action initially has no effect for several depressions and then it works minimally. this may last for a while or for just a short period. it has happened several times. i did a search online and other people are having the same problem. *kb

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota yaris. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate and would not respond when the accelerator was engaged with the illumination of the check engine warning light. the contact was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer where the technicians advised that the timing gear had failed and would need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure was mileage 2,000. the vin was not available.

Passenger side of vehicle has a leak when the air conditioner is used. took to the dealer and was charged approximately $200 to fix said problem. less than a month later the issue is happening again. seems to be more than one issue of this occuring. *tr
