Recently reported VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL problems on 2006 Toyota Tacoma

On december 1, 2019 i was backing into a gas station fill up spot. as i let off the gas to apply pressure to the brakes the truck revved up and started accelerating in reverse. i applied as much pressure to the brakes as possible only to continue accelerating in reverse. i could fill the truck's brakes attempting to stop the vehicle but the truck's back tires are squealing over powering the brakes. i finally come to a stop on one of the poles that protects the gas pumps after hitting another vehicle. i have contacted toyota and they sent a third party company to pull the information from the event data recorder. i was told i would get a report over what they said happened within 30 days after the third party has inspected the vehicle. it has now been 37 days and toyota is refusing to give me any information. i have done all the recalls that have been issued on the 2006 tacoma. on one recall they installed an override that would have decreased acceleration in the event that both the brake and gas were being depressed at the same time. this did not work in my accident. i have noticed on this site that there are 144 other complaints on this make and model of truck of the same thing occurring, yet that is not enough to say that the truck is unsafe? i am convinced that the truck is a danger and toyota is not responding and have missed the deadline of getting me the report within 30 days.

The airbag light just turned on. cruise control on steering wheel is not functioning, audio control on steering not working also and lastly the horn is not working also. looks like a spiral cable problem based on the symptom and validation of discussion group online. checked for recall here and seen my vin number on the range for recall. why did i not received any recall notice on this. not sure if the vehicle is unsafe to drive considering the airbag deployed light is on or if this will affect the airbag deloyment if needed. this happened just recently and there are issues similar to my case. hope it can be fixed by toyota.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated that the vehicle cruise control failed to engage. the contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. the contact was also, concerned that the air bags may fail to deploy in the event of a crash. the vehicle was not taken to a dealership to have a diagnostic testing performed. however, the contact feels that the failure was caused by nhtsa campaign number: 12v092000 (air bags). the manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 162,500.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. while driving less than 1 mph downhill, the vehicle accelerated independently. the contact stated that the failure recurred twice. the vehicle was taken to kendall toyota (located at 6930 old seward hwy, anchorage, ak 99518, (855) 981-5457) to be diagnosed. the contact was not informed of what caused the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was also contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 130,000. updated 11/02/17*lj *tr

Accelerated by itself. unintended acceleration. my wife was driving our 2006 4x4 toyota tacoma on a 55mph road with or 3 year old and 1 year old children on march 2017 at around 12:00 noon, when she started to decelerate to turn onto side road she depressed the brakes but they didn't work, she pressed harder and there was no change; then the truck accelerated on its own while she still only applied the brake pedal, the brakes finally worked and she was able to navigate the turn, yet much too fast. overt the next two miles to our house on a 35mph road, she stopped the truck fine (once at a stop sign, and once at our mailbox). however, as she pulled into our garage she stepped on the brake pedal and again the brakes did not work, and the truck again accelerated on its own and hit a tool cabinet which hit the garage wall. thankfully she and the kids were ok. the truck has a push-bar on the front and that was pushed into the front bumper and grill, the tacoma's front bumper is concaved in the middle and the ends are broken from where the join the front fenders, the lower grill area also broke. i immediately called three different toyota dealerships to explain what had happened and ask if there was a recall. two claimed to never have heard of this, and one of those told me to make sure a floor mat wasn't in the way (which it wasn't). one service advisor stated that this was similar symptoms to a national recall that had been issued for other toyota models, but not our tacoma was not one of those. i took to the internet and instantly found thousands of similar complaints by tacoma owners, and even verbiage that nhsta has had thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of similar complaints for this generation tacoma. i tested the truck later in the day and it worked as it should, however it's clear that toyota, and this tacoma, have unintended acceleration issues

I was pulling into my driveway with the intention of parking in the garage. i was slowly with my foot on the brake, turning into the driveway when the vehicle simultaneously started to squeal (as i was on the brake) and accelerate. i kept pushing harder and harder on the brake, the squealing continued. i was able to put the truck in park and shut the ignition off prior to crashing into anything.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 09v388000 (vehicle speed control); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

Car at approximately 2 mph at indoor parking garage. my foot was not on the gas pedal when car accelerated suddenly. turned ignition off and was able to stop car before impact with several other vehicles.

Cpsc: toyota tacoma: consumer stated he experienced sudden acceleration, as well as frame corrosion, that allowed for the rack and pinion to wear and loosen prematurely. *ss the consumer stated as a result, he experienced greater steering effort, reduced vehicle self-centering and noise in the front suspension. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration causing the driver to loose control of the vehicle and make contact with a guard rail before crashing into a brick wall. during the incident, the vehicle sustained significant damage to the front end but the air bags did not deploy. the driver suffered an injury to the left eye. a police report was filed. the cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 110,000.

Original recall 09v388000 for speed control was remedied by modification to the gas pedal and replacement or repurchase of the floor mats. on my truck, i accepted their fixes. since then, the replacement floor mat has torn and is once again loose and a risk to being stuck in my gas pedal. of note is that the replacement floor mats were much lower quality (cheap fix) than the original floor mats and had i known this i probably would have asked for the repurchase option. either way, the existing floor mats are sub-standard and pose as risk which should require replacement with a mat the quality of the original mats or better. i have pictures i'd like to send you that make it abundantly clear. *tr

I was commuting to my home mid-afternoon on interstate hwy 94 when the traffic ahead of me began to slow. as i approached the slowing traffic ahead of me i removed my foot from the acceleration pedal and began to coast to a stop when unexpectedly my truck began to accelerate very quickly. i immediately began to apply the brakes using both feet, my hands gripping the top half of the steering wheel with my shoulders thrust against the back of my seat. i stayed on the brakes the entire time that it took for me to have traveled the 50-60 feet before i hit the vehicle that had now come to a stop. it was only after i collided with the vehicle ahead of me that my truck stopped accelerating. for that entire time i was on the brakes, the tires screeching so loudly that the person in the vehicle that i hit heard them prior to the impact. this incident has shaken me personally and i no longer have any confidence in my truck so i no longer drive it. i have contacted toyota and they have issued to me a case number for this incident and have sent to me a consent form to allow them to download data from the vehicle's event data recorder as well as to physically inspect the vehicle. i did initially schedule a diagnostic appointment with my local toyota dealership where i bought the vehicle new but they would not perform any diagnostic work as a result of the vehicle having been in an accident. they gave me the telephone number for toyota corporate to call. the vehicle that i hit sustained $1,100.00 worth of damage. what are my options in this matter concerning my vehicle and the damage to the vehicle that i hit. *tr

I have a 2006 toyota tacoma. i took it to my local toyota dealer in august to address the recalls needing to be done. they tell me they are backed up trying to get recalls fixed. it is now november and have not been called yet. now the leaf springs are on recall. i replaced one leaf spring in september 2014 due to it snapping.will i get reimbursed from toyota for this repair?? i have not heard from my local toyota dealer as to when they can fix the recalls, they said they will call me when they can get me in. what year will that be? will my second leaf spring snap and puncture the tank before it gets repaired? or will the frame possible rust out and fall on the leaf springs....... i love toyota tacomas, disappointed in the follow thru/timeliness on fixing these problems. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v604000 (suspension). the dealer was unable to supply the parts for an extended period of time. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 09v388000 (vehicle speed control). the manufacturer was contacted and was unable to supply the parts for the recall repair within a reasonable time frame. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.

On october 2013 i approached a red light (no car in front of me) the road surface was wet and the abs kicked in. when i applied the brake hard, the engine started to accelerate and i couldn't hold the truck back. i went through the red light avoiding an accident. i called the toyota dealer and was told that i probably did not press down on the brake hard enough. on january 2014 the same thing occurred. here again i was fortunate that another vehicle was not in front of me and this time i went through a stop sign. i called the dealer and had it checked out. they found nothing wrong. march 15th it happened again. once again i was lucky that no vehicle was in front of me, but i now brake way in advance of a light or stop sign because of fear. this time when the engine started to accelerate i got off the brake and went right back on and the engine stopped accelerating. i once again put it in the garage and they found nothing wrong. i think that the unintentional acceleration is triggered when hard pressure is applied to the brakes when the abs kicks in. i'm not a rookie driver. i've been driving tacomas for over 30 years. this is my 4th one. after happening three times, it is definitely a problem with the truck. this is a possible serious accident waiting to happen. what can i do to get toyota to correct this problem? thank you *tr

As i was rolling down hill and applying the brakes, the truck suddenly accelerated. as i pressed the brakes harder the anti-lock brakes activated and the truck continued to move forward for a short distance, almost into on coming traffic, while the engine could be heard loud as if the gas peddle was being pushed although the brakes were being applied only. scary! uncontrollable forward movement and acceleration while braking. *tr

Letter submitting a copy of letter he sent to the toyota claims department for reimbursement of repair expenses to the used 2006 toyota tacoma he recently purchased; vehicle was in crash previous owner ignored two recalls on vehicle *tgw the consumer stated when he applied the brake, to stop a traffic light, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed into the rear of a vehicle, that was already sitting at the light.

Email from senator risch office on behalf of constituent regarding lack of safety recall for a sticking accelerator/electronic throttle issue on 2006 toyota tacoma. *smd the consumer stated toyota would not acknowledge the electronic throttle issue. the consumer stated he first addressed the accelerator pedal issue in 2008 when the vehicle was still under warranty.

Finally did floor mat recall work done on my 2006 tacoma. new floor mat is thin, flimsy, nothing like original thick all weather floor mat. i also want to add, there was nothing wrong with the original design aw floor mat for tacoma vehicles, there was absolutely no interference with the accelerator pedal, and that the only reason i changed the mats was due to the mat ribs starting to break on the driver's side. in addition, the campaign called for the floor carpet to be vacuum cleaned and shampooed, and none of this was done. the dealer simply swapped-out the floor mats and charged-out $185 to "recall work", i don't even think they did any pedal adjustment. here's the real problem: the new, thin, flimsy floor mat uses the old floor mat retainer hooks that were intended for the thick all weather floor mats. these floor mat hooks hurt my feet when driving barefoot, but more importantly, they can, they will, and they have caught and hooked-up the heel of my shoes on occasion. i am a very safe driver, do not tailgate vehicles, and i tell you now, these hooks have caused me to get into embarrassing situations and very near accidents due to my shoe getting caught in the hooks and not being able to brake properly and on time. if i modify the hooks or cut them, there is a good chance that the new mat will slide-up under the pedals, preventing use of the brakes and not being able to stop the vehicle. i will not do this, i will not assume this responsibility. at this present situation, at this present design, the liability rests with the manufacturer and the authorization for this recall design modification. as i mentioned earlier, there was no problem with the original design for this specific year/make/model; however, the recall modification did create a problem where none existed, and made the situation worse than original. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated while standing in the driver's side doorway the vehicle accelerated independently, rolling over the contact's foot. he was able to jump inside and bring the vehicle to a stop. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing however, after one month in the dealer's possession they were unable to diagnose the failure. the dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer, who stated that they would not offer any assistance until the contact signed a release form so they could examine the black box. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 120,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light, the engine roared loudly as the tires began squealing. as the contact turned to see if there was something behind the vehicle, his foot haphazardly slipped off the brake pedal and the vehicle rapidly accelerated. as a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. the driver of the second vehicle was injured. the vehicle was not inspected to determine the cause of the failure. the failure recurred two months later. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 132,000.

While driving on interstate 15 i accelerated to pass a car in front of mine, approximately 65 mph , i signal to the left, moved to left lane while i accelerated, when i cleared the car on my left i released the gas pedal, the truck kept on accelerating without my foot on the pedal, i looked and there was no interference of any floor mats luckily my truck is manual transmission and i shifted to neutral while the truck kept on accelerating. i taped the gas pedal and truck decelerated . this has happened a few times since i bought the truck i am the only owner of the truck and i bought it brand new from. after talking to a few dealerships and toyota care , they keep on telling me that it's the mats, but i have replaced the mats already and the issue is still there. no help from toyota. *tr

I was driving my 2006 toyota tacoma on the interstate at approximately 65 mph. i was using cruise control and i merged into the passing lane to get over for a highway patrol that had a truck pulled over. i accelerated to pass another truck and when i went to slow down after passing the truck suddenly started accelerating by itself and i could not get the brakes to work. i thought something was wrong with the cruise control so i pushed the button to turn it off but it continued to accelerate. i was suddenly going over 90 mph and i could not stop. i was pushing the brakes and nothing was happening, just fighting against the acceleration. finally i punched the accelerator with my foot and it felt like it came un-stuck or something. i previously took the truck in for a recall to cut off the gas pedal so it would not get stuck on the floor mat, so my pedal has already been shortened. i have owned this vehicle since it was new in 2006 and have never had anything like this happen. it was as if there was a computer glitch or something and it was just driving itself. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated while parking his foot became stuck between the accelerator pedal and the floor mat; as a result the vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed into a pole. a police report was filed and the driver did not sustained any injuries. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing nor was the manufacturer made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 67,000.

Letter from senator snowe on behalf of constituent re problems with his 2006 toyota tacoma *tgw the consumer stated on three separate occasions, the accelerator became lodged under the floor mat. the first incident caused severe damaged to the vehicle. the second incident happened to the consumers wife. she was able to get the vehicle to a safe stop without incident. the third time the incident happened the consumer attempted to apply the brake, but the vehicle accelerated out of control and crashed into a stone wall and the vehicle flipped over and landed on its side. the consumer stated toyota continued to tell him nothing was wrong with the vehicle. months later the consumer received a recall notice regarding the problem, only for the claim to be denied, because he couldn't remember what side the mats were on. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 09v388000 (vehicle speed control: accelerator pedal) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs. approximately one month later while the contact was driving in reverse, the contact attempted to shift into drive with the brakes depressed when the vehicle exhibited an unusually loud noise. the vehicle then abnormally accelerated. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where they performed a diagnostic test yet the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. the dealer purchased the vehicle back from the contact. the current and failure mileage was approximately 37,000. updated 03/07/11*lj the consumer stated the problem was not due to a floor mat or sticking gas pedal, it was something electrical within the acceleration system. updated 05/06/11

This is the second incident with my 2006 toyota tacoma, double cab. in feb 09 the truck ran away on me after accelerating to pass another vehicle. rpm raged and truck would not slow down, it speed to over 100 mph, brakes locked. see previous report. i had it towed to the dealer, who called toyota in and had the vehicle for two weeks. in the end they were not able to duplicate the problem. the dealer offered to buy it back for a ridiculous price, which i could not afford to accept seeing that we paid over $30,000 for the vehicle. i have driven it with kid gloves since, not trusting the vehicle at all. my family will not ride with me and my adult children refuse to allow their children to ride also. on july 9, 2010 i started the vehicle up and the engine was racing, rpm to 7, oscillating back and forth. i put it into gear and started out slowing, engine continued to race. i drove it for about 5 minutes, but felt very unsafe. i believed it would again accelerate out of control. light did come on indicating to take to dealer immediately. this light did not come on for over 5 minutes. i called my dealer and they told me to have it towed in which i did and start a case with toyota which i did. truck remains at the dealership at this point. *tr

I do not see the recall for the spiral cable assembly on my tacoma. i read that this vin is part of a recall for the wiring in the steering wheel that controls my passenger airbag, cruise control and some other functions. it has malfunctioned. why is it not listed on your website? when i checked on the status of this recall, it shows that my model, according to the vin does qualify for this. my passenger airbag is not working, and my cruise control is no longer working at speed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. while driving at 65 mph, the accelerator pedal became stuck in the open throttle position. the contact attempted to dislodge the pedal to no avail. she began to apply steady yet firm pressure to the brake pedal and the accelerator released itself as the vehicle decreased in speed. the dealer was testing the accelerator pedal for vibrations when the failure recurred. the manufacturer sent two investigators to further assess the failure. the accelerator pedal was replaced. the failure and current mileages were 100,000.

Hi, i have owned my 2006 tacoma 4x4 trd auto v6 for almost 5 yrs, problem free, and have been a big skeptic of the sudden acceleration thing in the news till this morning, i was going to the post office around ten as usual to mail some packages, turned into parking lot of post office, pulled into a space facing away from post office thankfully, as i pulled in, foot on brake only, coming up to curb about to put into park and turn off key, suddenly the vehicle floored itself spinning the rear wheels, jumping front of vehicle over tall curb, taking out a shrub in the median, vehicle was headed towards some new mini mall buildings 25 ft away, all the while as this started i was pressing on brakes hard, the vehicle didn't stop until i threw shifter into park and turned ignition off, immediately i saw that i was ok and nothing damaged, i started the truck and put in reverse and backed off the median into the space and parked, did my business, came back out, started up and drove home with no further problems, i have not contacted toyota yet about the incident. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact came to a stop and when he took his foot off the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and the rpms increased to 7000. the contact shifted into neutral, pulled over and shut off the engine. however, the engine continued to run. the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealership where the aftermarket floor mat was found to be the cause of the problem. the contact did not believe that the floor mat was the problem. the failure mileage was 112,714. the current mileage was 116,740.

My 06 toyota tacoma has accelerated two times,i contacted toyota and nhtsa. got the run around from toyota, like everyone else and the nhtsa did not do anything.. *tr

My 06 tacoma has had two accelerations, the first time i ran across a traffic lane to the side of the road, the next time it was in a supermarket parking lot. toyota checked the truck out, said all was fine. the next time toyota had a tech. look at it said it was fine, would not give me any paper work,at this point i was afraid to drive it,my family would not ride in it.tried to buy a toyota, they would not work with me on the price, told toyota that i was getting a new truck and wanted them to pay for one-half.they did not deny it,i sent them the invoice for 3500.00,have not heard from them at this date. toyota has given me the run-around and this has been a hardship on me and my family, i like the truck, put alot of extra items on it,i was planning on having it a long time. *tr

On the 26th of march 2010 about 3:00 pm, i was driving my 2006 toyota tacoma and got onto interstate 80 going west and began to merge into traffic. as i accelerated to get in front of a white semi-tractor trailer, i realized i was accelerating faster than i was pushing down on the gas pedal. my truck accelerated as if it wanted to go faster than i did, and so i let my foot off the gas pedal. but, my toyota tacoma still increased in speed, and the gas pedal seemed soft as if the truck was in cruise control. realizing that my speed was 80 and rising rapidly, i pushed down on the brake pedal. the car barely slowed down and sped right back up continuing to accelerate as soon as i removed my foot from the brake. so, i pressed down the brake pedal with all my force, but the truck did not slow down sufficiently to safely pull over. so, then, i put one foot on the brake and used the other to push down the emergency brake. the truck decelerated enough to allow me to pull over into the far right lane. the car continued to roll despite application of both brakes, and so i threw the vehicle into park. this shut off the engine. i had my truck towed to the dealership and nothing has been resolved as of today.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated while braking from the speed of 25 mph for a traffic stop, the vehicle abnormally accelerated and the vehicle proceeded through the traffic stop. the contact immediately shut off the engine and when restarting, the vehicle resumed normal operation. six months later, the exact failure occurred a second time causing the contact to crash into a mailbox. the vehicle flipped onto its side and crashed into a ditch. the contact was able to get the vehicle into an upright position. the police did not arrive. the contact suffered moderate injuries to the head, neck and knee. the vehicle sustained substantial body damage as well as damage to the exterior mirrors, turn signals and windshield. the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for further investigation. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact had significant concern of the safety hazard. the failure mileage was 79,000. updated 08/24/10*lj updated 08/25/10

When i was coasting to park my truck at my parking space outside of my house parking garage, my p/u truck suddenly accelerated very fast and the truck hit the fence and stopped. i remember clearly my sense that i pushed the brake while the car accelerating for a split second but do not remember if the engine was stopped after hitting the fence with steel pole. i somehow reversed back about 8 feet from the fence and stopped the engine. i came out of the car and checked if the accelerating pedal was depressed. it was not. i had experienced the truck engine racing a little fast as i tried to park at work in the mornings also. i felt something unusual but ignored the feeling, since my car was running high rpm since new. i remember that i asked about the high rpm to the salesman. he mentioned some new design feature that i could not understand. after this incident within 30 minutes i went to toyota of plano and reported my incident, and then i went to my car/home insurance company (state farm insurance co.) to report the incident. my car was towed to toyota of plano. i hope some one checks the engine electronics, not just mechanical problem of my car. this is very odd and dangerous. i asked myself about the state of my own mind and attitude at the moment but i was very normal. i am an electrical engineer and have driven the cars for last 50 years and have lived and parked at the same parking space for last 17 years. i have heard about the toyota problems but not about my truck model. updated 03/30/10

I was going about 50 was slowing down for a red light, the truck started to speed up on it`s own, pulled to the right just missing a car and went off the road..this was reported to toyota and the nhtsa..of course toyota said no problem found...nothing from nhtsa..this has happened twice,no other family members will drive the 06 tacoma. *tr

Toyota tacoma 2006.... engine lurches at red lights...when idle...when warming at intermittent or sporadic times. rpm goes from 1.5 to 3.5. this normally happens when i have my foot on the brake..only twice has it lurched with my foot not fully on the brake. both times i was turning and had my foot near the brake so that i had time to push hard on the brake to keep me from running into the car in front of me. i have had the truck for almost two years and it happens on a regular basis. it lurched during one of the turns last weekend on a trip to florida. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. while coasting at approximately 5 mph in a parking lot the vehicle suddenly exhibited an unusual increase in engine rpms. the contacts foot was neither on the accelerator or brake pedal and the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning. he instinctively placed the vehicle in neutral and abruptly depressed the brake pedal. he did not remove his foot from the brake pedal until the vehicle came to a stop. the dealer could not duplicate the failure and no repairs were made to the vehicle. the failure mileage was 19,200 and the current was 19,225.

I am the owner of a 2006 toyota tacoma that was involved in a roll over accident on 2/14/2010. my son was driving the vehicle with 2 passengers on a church outing. they were stopped at a traffic light waiting to turn. when the light changed he said he tried to accelerate but the pedal did not respond, the second time he tried the vehicle took off. as he tried to round the corner, the vehicle kept accelerating, he tried to brake but they did not respond. he lost control of the vehicle and hit the curb on the adjacent side of the road and became airborn. they went down an embankment and rolled. there was another vehicle of young adults traveling with them, and in the lane next to them on their left. they saw the whole thing and said they could hear the engine racing. when the got to the vehicle, they were able to get everyone out and my son just kept saying "what the hell happened". they were all treated and released with minor injuries. this vehicle was in the toyota recall for floor mats. i did not have toyota mats in the truck, i had very heavy rubber mats. i believe this vehicle experienced the accelerator pedal issue that has caused hundreds of other crashes. we are just fortunate no one was seriously hurt. *tr

The accelerator was stuck in our 2006 toyota tacoma on several occasions. almost causing an accident each time. we do not feel safe driving it. we have removed the mats. toyota isn't offering replacement mats to fix the problems for their mistake. toyota also hasn't included my truck in this supposed voluntary recall. *tr

My 2006 toyota tacoma has a problem surging forward at stops. i have not been involved in an accident but with the current recalls now on other toyota vehicles i am concerned. the only current recall on my vehicle is for the floor mats. i was wondering if there were any other complaints like mine? didn't know where else to state my concerns. have done some research on my own. found some toyota owners forums online others have stated they have the same problem. please help!! *tr
