The drivers side sun visor made a cracking sound when i rotated it down to block the sun. attempts to push it forward to the windshield failed and it dropped down vertical blocking my vision of the road. i was unable to move the sun visor back to its stored location so i had to pull off the road and remove the sun visor with a screwdriver. the exact same thing happened to our 2010 toyota camry. and we had to remove the visor on the road. there is an extended warranty on the 2010 so it was repaired. removing the fabric on the tacoma sun visor i found a metal plate on the rotating arm that was frozen and it had split the plastic housing. i found the same design with the camry sun visor. and it was also frozen and would not freely rotate. toyota refuses to acknowledge that they have a design flaw with the sun visors. the service manager would not look at the exposed inner workings of the sun visor. when i told him that the toyota hotline said to bring both vehicles in and the dealership may repair both. the service manager said he had worked with them for years and they do not say that but give you a reference number. this is the second run in with the same dealership. when i brought in the camry they wanted me to provide proof of the agreed on extended warranty for this repair. i found on the toyota forums that there is many issues with toyota's drivers side sun visor. the passenger side is of the same design but is not flexed as much as the drivers side and does not fail as often. *tr

The sun visors in my truck will not keep in the up position. it stays hanging blocking my view. i have asked toyota to repair it, but since it is past the warranty period, they will not repair it. it is a great danger to have my vision blocked by this object. i strongly feel the materials used in the arm of the sun visors are defective. *tr

Driver's side visor bracket breaks and visor will not stay up out of the way and blocks driver's view. *tr

The sun visor on the driver's side will not stay up. when it falls down, the visor is right in my line of site. *tr

Blower motor fan speed selector switch illumination has quit working and also the outside temperature display on the front passenger roof has quit working. *tr

I own a 2005 toyota tacoma. when driven at freeway speeds, the front windshield seals begin to vibrate and create an exceedingly loud squeal along the top of the front windshield. this noise sounds like a siren and is very startling. the first time this happened, i almost drove off the road. it sounded like i was in the path of an emergency vehicle or had just hit some type of animal. toyota motor corp. is aware of this condition, but will not fix it. they have issued a service bulletin, nv006-07, but stated that i was responsible for the repair. i am afraid that others will swerve, crash , or be injured by this noise. *tr

When i'm on the highway and i'll go 70 mph on my 2005 toyota tacoma xrunner, i'll get this noise like a whistle, it gets worse as i go faster. *tr

I took my 2005 toyota tacoma in for a squeal in the window, under warranty. sun toyota told me i would need a regulator. i left my truck there for four hours, when i returned to pick it up, they informed me that my clutch was completely warned out. i didn't bring it in for any kind of clutch repair, mind the fact i was only at 26k miles. i asked how did they determined that. the guy in the service dept. said he, "could feel it with his foot". that i would have to pay $800.00 up front for them to even look at it, and that would just tell them if there is a problem and if it was a warranty item or if i wore it out. i told them there was no way i could have worn out the clutch in 26k miles, they told me that teenagers can wear a clutch out at 18k miles, however i am nowhere near a teenager anymore. so anyway, i did not shell out $800.00. instead i took my truck to my service man, that has nothing to do with toyota, and told him everything that happened at toyota. he could not believe what i had been told. then proceeded to check out the truck, put it on a lift, took it down and adjusted the clutch, and told me there is nothing wrong with your clutch, and he didn't charge me anything! after that episode i contacted the bbb, i tried to contact toyota corp., useless! the bbb could not resolve this either. the bottom line is, toyota the company stinks, they will tell you lies, to get money out of you. then when you prove them wrong. they still won't admit they made a mistake. i love my truck and still own it. however now i tell everyone what a bad company toyota is and to research it before they buy, so far i've talked three people out of buying one. i also have friends that have told me of problems they have had with their toyota trucks! *tr

Toyota tacoma 2005 windshield had problems with buzzing noise, toyota replace it a couple times due to improper installation of windshield sublet. buzzing noise is minimal and rarely happens but now sealant was not secure and during rain cause water damage to underside of carpet. my concern is mold from the water damage. *tr

My wife took our 05 tacoma in to have a windshield replaced that should be covered under warranty. they looked at the cracks and said it was caused by a rock from the outside, i might have agreed had my wife not watched my youngest son press his thumb against the inside of the windshield causing the glass to crack. after looking up problems with toyota's i came across several sites stating that in 03,04 and 05 toyota made the windshields thinner and in turn made them more brittle. *tr

Intermittent buzzing noise from driver side windshield during high winds or high speed windshield was replace twice and molding redone. this improve the frequency of the buzzing noise but did not eliminate it. *tr

05 toyota tacoma prerunner, (50,000 miles) driver's side sun visor fell into driver's line of sight while driving. visor has been somewhat loose but holding just out of sightline. visor has never held anything but itself and small garage door holder. *tr

The outside review mirrors vibrate excessively especially on windy days, so much that vehicles or any other object is indisernable. i have taken my problem to two different dealerships, the dealer where i purchased from swapped my mirrors with another vehicle to no avail. i believe this to be a safety defect and should be fixed by toyota by engineering a better outside rear view mirror free from vibration.

Consumer states while driving rear view mirror creates a blind spot in the right front sector area. the mirror is too big. contacted toyota, but problem is occurs. *ak

Excessive wind noise above 65mph. a constant loud noise from a faulty seal somewhere in windshield area or driver-side door area when travelling at 65 mph or above. worse if driving directly into wind.*ak
