Air bags failed to deploy in car crash: my 2010 prius was stuck by another car who ran a red light, in the front right (passenger side). the car that struck me was traveling approx 35mph and pushed my car (also traveling approx. 35mph) into the path of a wooden telephone pole that suspended the traffic lights over the intersection. my car traveled about 20-30 feet further and stopped when my car hit the pole head on. the telephone pole broke in two in the impact. none of my air-bags deployed. the police report is incorrect regarding the airbags. i have contacted the police department to amend the report. as seen in the accompanying photographs, the air bags did not deploy, contrary to the police report.

Takata recall i received a recall in january 2017 regarding curtain shield air bags in the roof rails of my car. i contacted my toyota dealership in january and was told that they didn't have the part to make the repair but would call me when they got the part in. i called them two more times regarding this issue, most recently on 10-25-17 and was again told that they would contact me when they get the corrective part. can you please tell me when the corrective part should be dispensed to the dealerships? what is a reasonable amount of time to expect this to be corrected and what, if any, action should i pursue?

Airbag light started turning on every so often. after recall work at dealer, it went away, but again now holds constant.

I have a recall notice with a date of june 28, 2016. i scheduled an appointment with gene messer toyota in lubbock, tx on september 9, 2017. i showed the recall notice to the guy at the service station and was told to wait for a second letter saying that parts are available. the guy did not even bother to order the parts. i was rejected right away. i don't think another letter is suppose to come because of the timeline, but that was what i was told to do.

Srs light illuminated. toyota diagnostic completed at local toyota dealership. diagnostic indicated failure of spiral cable (clock spring)....similar to other toyota vehicles that are part of a recall. contacted toyota 1-800-331-4331. prius is not part of the recall, even though it seems that it has a similar failure. toyota logged the complaint.

Airbag warning light illuminates. toyota service techie's diagnostic showed a disconnected spiral cable. techie explained that the spiral cable has electrical connections to the driver's airbag module and the driver's air bag would not deploy in an accident. he said i should install a new cable spiral assembly kit (aka "clock spring"), part # 8430747020 at a cost of nearly $1000, including over $700 for the part. i did some research. part # 8430747020 was installed in many toyota vehicles, and has been recalled for the same problem in the corolla, matrix, highlander, tacoma, rav4, and yaris. see safety recall e0m (e1m) april 2015, update 5/12/14. the prius is not mentioned in the recall, although my car has the same exact problem with the identical part, and the toyota service supervisor agrees it is the same problem and part. i explained this to the service technician and supervisor, who called toyota, and toyota offered to cover 50% of the cost of the part, and none of the labor cost. i asked whether they could do the same fix in my car as they ...
