Takata recall i've been trying to get help with this problem with toyota for months with nothing but very general responses, none of which, address my issue, explain toyota's position, and negligence, or answer my questions. i'm going to ask you to get all the details from the prior complaints i've sent over the last two months. please review and advise asap. thank you, (xxxx) parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Airbag recall. i have been trying to get my car fixed since october. the dealer cannot get the part. each time i call the dealer they say the part has not arrived. called the toyota safety resolution team on 11/23 and they hooked me up with dealer. same story, part is on order but may be months before we get the part.
Spiral cable assembly with electrical connections damaged. airbag light stays on when the steering wheel is turned. a recall for 2009-2010 matrix is in effect (http://www.autonews.com/article/20140409/copy01/304099971/toyota-recalls-more-than-6-million-vehicles) but 2005 matrix and other years are actually also affected by these defect. a recall for 2005 matrix to replace airbag module is announced by toyota but not for damaged spiral cable assembly which should be related to the airbag module defect as the airbag module is attached to the spiral cable assembly

Takata recall - i received a letter several months ago informing me my matrix was recalled for the air bag inflators. i was told i'd be contacted when the parts were available. after hearing nothing, i went to toyota's website. it says the part should have been available in my area starting in dec. 2015. i contacted my local dealer , & they told me they couldn't do the repair until the end of aug. 2016. it will have been about a year & a half since i was informed of the recall - this is a totally unacceptable amount of time. meanwhile, they suggest no one ride in the passenger seat until the repair is complete. toyota is doing a terrible job with this whole thing.
Takata recall - in june 2015, i was notified by toyota that my matrix had been added to the list of vehicles affected by the takata recall and that i should contact my local dealer to set up repairs. when i called i was told that i would be contacted again once the parts were available. i have now received the notification that parts are available, nearly 10 months after the initial notification. what troubles me is that in the latest letter it states " until this remedy is performed, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat." why didn't they mention this before? why didn't they provide the repairs sooner? what if i had been in an accident with someone in the front passenger seat, they might have been severely injured or possibly killed. why are these large companies allowed to put others at risk simply by performing some sort of failure analysis when peoples lives are at risk.
Recall has not been fixed
Takata recall. the toyota website says replacement parts are "currently available." the dealer told me i'd have to wait one to three weeks because the parts are on back-order.
Takata recall - i want to file a complaint in regards to my local toyota dealership failing to remedy my defective airbag within a reasonable time. i got the safety recall around june 2015 and they still don't have the airbag in stock. my local toyota dealership is jerry's toyota and their address is 8001 belair road, baltimore, md 21236. their phone # is 410-661-5700, any help is greatly appreciated. *tr

Takata recall - this is my only car and i have two kids to transport as well as others and i cannot guarantee that no one sits in the front passenger side as requested. i am also concerned with my own safety as the driver, plus my son is starting to drive in 1 month as he gets his learners permit. i am in the priority 1 group but have heard nothing about getting this corrected.

Received recall notice from toyota for the front passenger air bag inflator to be replaced. attempted to make three appointments two months apart, and consistently told by the dealer (toyota of santa barbara, ca) the parts are not avaialble.
Takata recall. i was given the notice a few months ago (at least 2) that the passenger airbag needed to be replaced and to avoid having someone sit in the passenger seat. i contacted the dealer today (1-14-16) and the parts are still not available. it is unreasonable to take this long for a safety issue to be resolved and tell customers that they just shouldn't have a passenger.

I receivd an interim recall notice in june 2015 for the passenger airbag. as of oct 19, 2015 the parts to replace or fix the recall problem are not available, and toyota cannot tell me when the parts will be available. i find this to be an extremely unreasonable amount of time, considering it is a safety recall and the notification letter for this recall recommended that the passenger seat remain empty until the problem is fixed.

The reason i am filing this complaint is i don't feel toyota's airbag recall is adequate. i purchased a four person sedan to carry four people. toyota is telling me it isn't safe for a person to ride in the front passenger seat, because of this recall. i feel i need to not only have my vehicle repaired but i need toyota to purchase my car back at market value or give me a loaner that will carry four passengers until my vehicle is fixed. it is unacceptable for them to ask me to not use my vehicle for what i purchased it for. regards, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).' *jb

I received a recall notice for passenger air bag inflators which may be defective when in contact with moisture. i received this notice 8/15/15 but the date of the recall on the website is 6/15/15 - a difference of 2 months! i called the toyota recall hotline and was informed that there is no remedy for my location, even though i informed the representative that my car was purchased used and came from a beach area in southern california - a humid and moist area. i was informed that there is no estimated date when parts will be available in my location but to not allow passengers in the front seat. this is certainly not reasonable and very inconvenient. it is ridiculous to have a recall and not have prepared by ordering necessary parts. i am extremely dissatisfied with the "toyota experience" and am more than peeved that i have to wait for who knows how long to fix the situation. until then, what do i do? i use my car for work and frequently drive clients, friends and relatives to various locations.
