Erroneous "reminder" from toyota states they previously sent an "official safety recall notification" for "safety recall campaign ssc 40b" re "child protection lock system". we have received no previous notice of this alleged recall. i have already sent a separate inquiry and complaint to toyota motors, usa about this. we are concerned that we missed the first notice, and that toyota can't keep it straight who they notified and who they didn't notify. *jb

2004 toyota highlander was involved in crash. the doors were not locked when traveling, but were locked when the car came to a stop after crash. occupants could not get out. they could not turn off key. they could not break windows to get out, either, no matter how much they kicked them. this is a serious matter. if there had been a fire, the occupants would have died.*ak
