Driving on the freeway, my car engine shut-off and breaks locked. car will not start on the move so i have to bring it to a stop. the process of transitioning lanes without breaks was very scary. after the car was brought to a full stop the car was able to start.
Continuing problem when foot is on brake pedal and hit a bump in road, grinding noise and vibration sensation in pedal. toyota dealer says brakes are ok. today this happened but this time the grinding noise was pronounced and the car would not brake - fortunately i was not driving at a high rate of speed and barely stopped in time before almost rear ending car in front of me. i have found several complaints on line of the same problem.
On 1/1/2020 while the vehicle was in motion on the city street; and when attempting to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle brakes started to grind and the vehicle would not stop. this same brake failure occurrence with the vehicle, reoccurred two more times intermittently. luckily there was no other vehicles nearby that could have resulted in a crash

On sunday, october 20, 2019, approximately 3:10 pm i got into my 2018 toyota corolla, the car was stationary in park, and was not running on a flat surface. i realized i forgot my wallet so i got out of the car and left the driver's door open. i retrieved my wallet within 1 minute and when i came out my car was rolling slowly on the flat driveway where i park every day. i tried to grab the door handle to see if i could jump in the car to stop it but it picked up speed and went down a slight incline across the yard. the door hit a tree and then the car landed in bushes. my neighbors came running over because they saw the entire incident. i was able to get into the car on the passenger side and i started the car's engine since it was never turned on and drove it out of the bushes back onto the flat driveway. the car rolled while the gear was in park and was not running. everyone is not sure why that would happen. i'm asking to see if there is a problem with the transmission ...
Exiting freeway. made a left. slowed down at red light. realized the car wasn't stopping. slammed brake pedal to floor. car continued to move and hit another car. police report made. collision location at 3520 massachusetts ave, lemon grove, ca 91945. this is a new car and no reason for brakes to not be working.
Lane departure alert & pre collision system malfunction warning light keep illuminating on the dashboard for a certain amount of time and then will turn off again without warning. this is also affecting the cruise control and the abs system. i noticed that it affects what seems to be the transmission when i am coming to a stop the car will shake uncontrollably and act like it is out of gear. almost like it is possessed. it's been doing it on and off since i bought the car and i have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they will fix it temporarily and then several months later it always comes back. this past time has been the worst as it seems like there are multiple electrical components that are being affected and it is actually affecting the steering as well as the breaking and efficient running of the vehicle .
