Check engine light lit. vehicle was taken to a toyota dealer for service. dealer stated that the fuel filler pipe leading to the fuel tank had multiple holes and required replacement of the fuel tank sub-assy. dealer stated that this was a common failure for corollas (vehicle is three years old). dealer stated that the fuel suction gasket had deteriorated and required replacement.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. while driving 25 mph, the contact noticed an abnormal odor of fuel inside the vehicle. the contact was flagged down by a resident who informed her that fuel was leaking from the vehicle. the contact pulled into a fuel station and turned the vehicle off. when attempting to turn the vehicle back on, it failed to start. the vehicle was then towed to sheehy toyota of fredericksburg (3507 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408, 540-507-0076) where it was diagnosed that the fuel lines were cut or bitten through. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in any recalls. the failure mileage was 20,500.
Took my car in to have 6mos. inspection done and i reported that i was smelling something like rotten eggs in my car. this happens at least 1-2 times a month and it happens after driving the car for a while. i am due to take the car in again and i will report that this problem again. my grand daughter was in my car and she asked me what that smell was??? when this happens my car is usually in the park position, but running. when i first reported problem, they ck it out and said that they would keep a ck on this problem
Brake pedal feels spongy or soft all the time. have had vehicle to dealer 3 times for stuck fuel door (won't open). every time nothing found wrong. tech lubed and tried adjusting fuel door to no avail. stuck fuel door doesn't happen all the time though. this is a safety issue especially for women who are trying to fuel up when on empty. fuel door sticks while stationary. brakes feel spongy when applying brakes while in motion or sitting still. dealer looked at brakes and said they are fine. have read several complaints on these corolla's having brake failure! what's next??? a crash in the making!!! will not buy toyo again.
