The problem started with 3 of the door lock actuators not functioning properly on my 2014 corolla. the key fob would not activate them. i brought it in for service on 2/8/2020 and the dealer confirmed they were faulty and would order the parts. within a couple of days, the 4th actuator and the trunk lock actuator also failed. i bought it in on 2/15/2020 to have the first 3 fixed and also to confirm the problem with the other 2 issues so those parts could be ordered. i was told the cost to fix the first 3 would be about $1500! the extended warranty i purchased had expired and so i could not afford this. i was told by the service consultant that he's seen this problem with corollas. i looked on line and have found numerous complaints for this same vehicle about this same situation. with this number of complaints, i would think there would have been a recall by toyota as this can be considered a safety issue, considering it takes longer for people to get in their which can subject them to possible criminal activity. they also should do ...
Driving on the freeway, my car engine shut-off and breaks locked. car will not start on the move so i have to bring it to a stop. the process of transitioning lanes without breaks was very scary. after the car was brought to a full stop the car was able to start.
After getting gas, once i got onto the highway, about 400 or so feet, my car started shaking violently and then my check engine light came on. i didn't know what was happening and my car was slowly stopping on its own accord. luckily i was able to get off on the nearby exit, my car slowing by itself as i drove. as i turned in to go to a gas station, my car stopped on its own completely, even when i tried to push on the gas. i turned the car off and waited about 5 minutes. after that time, i was able to start it up and my car turned on and no alert lights were on.i i was then able to drive on back roads to my house, with no further issues. please help me resolve this issue. i am terrified i am going to get in a car accident.
In an empty parking lot around noontime on a sunny day, i was trying to park my car. the car was in drive forward mode. i fully stopped for parking the car; i had to backup a little bit. after full stop (to protect my transmission), i moved the gear stick from drive to reverse and drive stick was showing me, i am in reverse, but the car instead of going back, started moving forward. fortunately, the parking lot was empty and nobody got hurt, otherwise this would have seriously injured somebody in front of the car. however, when i moved the drive stick from drive to park and then come back to reverse this did not happen. i started searching in internet whether anybody else has experienced the same problem. i found out that other people have experienced the same problem and for fixing the problem what they had to do had to update the car's computer software, otherwise if one after full stop goes from drive directly to reverse, the car might start going forward. this problem, without software update can happen only in certain batch of the cars. so make sure you test your car ...
While driving on an interstate (~80mph) i heard a loud noise above me. i noticed glass was on my lap and on the passenger seat. i looked up to see my sunroof had shattered (the sunroof cover was open). i pulled over expecting to find something in my car (i.e. debris from the road) that caused the sunroof damage. no foreign object was found. no other damage (scratch, dent, etc.) was evident on any part of the car. i drive a 2014 toyota corolla s.
I was driving along a suburban street with little traffic in nice weather when i heard what sounded like a like a loud explosion. i thought i got shot by a gun but i didn't feel any pain so i thought my car was shot. when i was able to get out of my vehicle to check the damage, i was unable to find anything wrong. later on, my husband saw the sunroof shattered in our garage, something i could not see because of my height.

I started my car and put it in reverse, as i backed out of the driveway the car seized in the middle of the city street i was backing onto and i could not get it to move no matter what i did. a couple of dashboard lights came on, i wasn't able to shift or get out of the way of oncoming traffic. one of the lights that came on had an exclamation point. my steering wheel would not move either. i shut the car off and restarted it, it ran after that. i have since been very wary about driving because i'm afraid i'm going to be driving and it'll just stop working again.
I drove my car to get gas on november 24, 2019. after i got full tank of gas, i cannot start the engine. the engine would make a noice like coughing, and whole car would shake, all the electric (lights, meter, music) would be on, but the engine would go back to 'dead'. on the display screen, it would show the 'battery' warning icon. i immediately tried jumpstart, but i still cannot start my vehicle so it's not simply a batteries problem.
