I previously made a complaint about my 2015 toyota camry. i attached a copy of my complaint to this complaint. i am now experiencing loss of power while i drive from the torque converter shudder issue i am having. car is shaking rather than a vibration now between speed of 40mph to 50mph. this is unsafe
I keep having trouble with my cv axle. it has been replaced 3 times now and the last time was with toyota. i am still hearing a clicking sound when turning.
2015 camry has experienced exactly the same torque converter shudder issues described in the 2012-2014 models that were covered under a recall. this year is not covered because toyota has said they fixed the issue on this year. started out with shudder around 25-30mph, now it's also happening around 35-45mph, vehicle will also rev out in gear giving no acceleration. now this car is barely even drivable. the transmission is shifting up to the highest gears even when speed is very low, as though you were driving a manual transmission vehicle at 15mph in fifth gear. the only temporary solutions that helped and now no longer will, were punching the throttle during a shudder to downshift, or downshifting in the manual mode. unhooking the battery to drain the system power to put the vehicle back into learning mode, which helped for several hours until the vehicle went right back to the same issues. currently the vehicle limps around with any type of driving, shifts to gears that are too high for the appropriate speed with dangerously sluggish acceleration or none at all, and shudders in two speed ranges.
When i accelerate to about 40 mph there is shudder and rough ride like running over rough road. the car has 79,500 miles on it. the toyota dealer says the problem is the torque converter. i have seen other reports of the problem on the internet.one person indicated it might need a software update but that is the only report like that i have seen. the dealer, team toyota of princeton says it will be a $2,880 repair. based on additional internet reports this seems to be a common problem.
In previous years the engine equipped on this vehicle has experienced oil consumption problems due to the wear on the oil scrapper ring. my current toyota camry is in the beginning stages of burning oil. the current mileage of the car is 58k miles.
2012-2014 model year camry vehicles software update for u760e torque converter shudder toyota had updated software for torque converter shudder for year from 2012-2014 but i own 2015 camry and i have same problem with my camry year 2015 car is shakey and toyota dealer refused to update software for year 2015 unless pay them $250.00 and due to reason effected transmission on 2 to 3 gear shift it hesitate at speed below 20 mph takes brief 4 to 5 seconds to shift gear.toyota should owner recall on camrys after year 2014 as well
Is making a noise on passenger side and the steering is funny
When i accelerate 40 mph or higher, my car gives me a sudden shudder in the vehicle. it feels like running over a rough spot in the road or like a rumble before you reach a toll booth. as quickly as it appears, it is gone, until the next time it appears. my car has about 95,000 miles on it currently and i have taken to several shops and they all say that, torque converter is making that shudder which is related to transmission and might cost me around $2000 to fix. if anyone face the same issue, please make a report so that nhtsa can look into it.
Just got the car with 30000 miles on it. like a week ago started noticing the transmission shifting gears too fast. i'm going 30mph and it's in 4th gear! it wasn't doing this when i first got it. tried to pass someone up on highway it took 2 seconds for the rpm to kick in almost got ran off the road by another vehicle. from a stoplight it will hesitate for 1 or 2 seconds then take off. this is really dangerous if someone has to make a quick turn during traffic. this is an accident waiting to happen. please fix it so i can enjoy my new car.
2015 toyota camry se the vehicle shudders when l accelerate between 20-25 mph and 40-50mph. lt appears quickly and go away when you accelerate over stated mph. my has about 95,000 miles on it. have took the car to several shops, was told its the torque converter. there was software update and recall on 12-14 camry on this same issue, thought toyota would have fix this issue before the rolled out 2015s. toyota needs a software update and recall on the 2015 camry for anyone having this issues.
Torque converter shudders around 40-45 mph it gets worse and i have to let off the gas or speed up for it to stop, not safe in heavy traffic!! brake type squeak that will not stop even after new rotors and brake pads.
I was driving home on friday august 18th at about 35 mph. on a straight roadi suddenly lost my steering. when i got out to look at it the right from wheel was turned 90 degrees to the right. when looking at it it looks like the right front axel broke or tie rods or whatever is under there. when the colchester police came they did not file an accident report since it was their belief that something on the car had broken. the officer told me i was lucky to only be going 35 and not on the interstate doing 65. when the wrecker came he said he had never seen anything like this on a camry. i did not hit a pothole or curb or anything else. now toyota (heritage toyota, south burlington vt. is not convinced that it was a defect. they are waiting for their regional office to make a determination. just talked to heritage toyota and they said it was not a defect. however they did not say what was wrong with it. they are acting like this is an every day occurrence. i just want to make you aware of this in case anyone else had the same issue.
Car was parked in driveway, started to pull in garage, when throttle opened wide open, i quickly applied the brakes, shifted into reverse or park, car ran into garage wall before i could stop it. abs braked system worked and i heard clicking from brakes. damage to car est. $3,000.
I have a 2015 toyota camry le and there is something wrong with the brake and transmission. on august 13th 2016, i was backing out of a parking spot but instead of going backwards, my car moved forward. i tried to press down on the brake to stop the car but the brake did not work. these two abnormal mechanical malfunctions could cause to death or serious injuries. i was so scared to drive my car so i called the dealer's service department to inform them of this problem. they advised me to call roadside assistance to tow my car to their service department. toyota only did a quick inspection and test drove the car. after, they said the car is in normal condition and the service advisor told me that i can take my car back to service when the problem still exists. this is ridiculous because if the transmission or brake system fails to operate properly while i am driving on the freeway or on a busy street, i would be dead or have serious injuries. i would never have the chance to take my car to their service department. toyota never admits that their cars have defects or fix their cars. they will only be concerned about their cars after a fatal crash happens. toyota did not guarantee that the transmission and brake will work properly after a certain time period or mileage reached. a fatal accident could happen to me or other people on the road any minute and i do not want bear any legal liability to the accident. i do not feel safe to drive my car and would like to file a complaint in case a life threatening accident happens to me and my family. please help me. thank you. *tr

I'd like to file a complaint with my 2015 toyota camry xle. i don't feel like the shifter is very safe in this model. i had a nerve racking incident the other day while my kids and their cousins were in the car. i was parallel parking on an incline. i tried to put the car into drive and my car rolled back. i thought, wow, this must be quite an incline. i checked to make sure i was in gear, but nothing was visible on my gear shift or on the dash digitally. i put one foot on the break and one on the gas to ease into what was hopefully still drive, and the car rolled back after i took my foot off of the break. i paused for a little bit, getting really nervous because now i am so close to the car behind me. i told the boys that something is wrong with my car and it won't go into gear. i tried to 'gun it' and my car rolled back or reversed and hit the bumper of the car behind me. i put the car in park and e-brake, and asked the 11 year old to check which gear the car was in, if he could differentiate the color indicator and he said no. but wait, if you cup your hand around it, he could see the 'p' for park. in experimenting now, if the sun is really glaring, you can't see the indicators of the gear, the car dash digitally only shows the gears for about a second, which would be helpful to keep in view on the dash when in any other gear than drive. i was pretty sure i was in drive that day, yet the engine sounded like it was in neutral. i feel like i don't trust driving in my car any more as i was pretty shaken up and frustrated. needless to say, there is a nail hole in my rear bumper from the ladies front license plate i hit. fortunately she was really nice and did not press charges. i'm also fortunate that no one was injured.
At 10 a.m. on a bright sunny morning, my wife and grown daughter got into my car to go to breakfast, i turned the key to start the car, and turned on the air conditioner. the air was hot, not cool, i looked through the steering wheel to the dash and there was a yellow warning lite that read "check charging system " . i put the gear lever into "d" and the car did not move but the engine reved up, i then put it into "r" and the same thing occurred, the car engine reved up but would not move. i then turned the engine off, then started it up again and this time it started normally with a/c putting out cold air and the auto moving when transmission was in gear. i took it to the dealer and they performed a quality inspection and could not find the problem. they ask me to report back to them should it happen again, with the time, temperature, rain or cloudy day , ect.. it has been about 6 days and so far it has not happened again.
I have complained at every oil change about how our car will roll backward while in gear on a small incline making it dangerous for roll back collision when removing foot from brake to place it on accelerator. this has happened consistently since purchase
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. the contact stated that while driving at approximate 55 mph, the vehicle was making a vibrating motion. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing where it was determined that the front driver side tire needed to be replaced. the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the dry shaft and the transmission were replaced but the failure recurred. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 7.
Fuel gauge read empty upon startup after 36 hours engine off. actual fuel level 3/4 full. gauge read accurately after 4 mile drive and restart.
Speedometer disagrees with digital speed readout in driver information center. speedometer reads approximately 2 mph higher than digital speedometer in driver information center.
As i am driving at any spend my car shifts on it's own to 2nd gear! the shifter is still in "d". i am not touching anything. it doesn't matter if i am on a highway or my street it has shifted many of times in fast and slow speeds. i have over 30 videos of this problem. i have 3 children and feel unsafe driving this car . it was the showroom floor car and only had 13 miles at purchase.
