Frequent hesitation in acceleration after slowing down and then re-accelerating. also hesitates after turning or entering on a highway on-ramp. have reported problem numerous times to dealer and have been told no problem can be detected. this is a safety issue and needs to be addressed, as i have been nearly rear-ended several times.

Car shakes at low speeds, what's told by dealer that it is a torque converter which is not covered for my car. they wanted to charge me thirty nine hundred. i spent $1,000 for parts and got someone else to do it for $2,000. now having the same problem reported online by many others and still no recall on these vehicles.

The vehicle was on the streets and highways at speeds of 30 to 50 mph. the 2014 camry has an abrupt deacceleration and shudder causing other vehicles following behind me to apply sudden brakes that can cause accidents and injuries to drivers. prior to purchasing, i contacted richardson tx dealership and provided vin and mileage 164k to service adviser. service adviser said no problem, toyota will cover the torque converter replacement under warranty enhancement. i purchased the vehicle since i was advised it was covered. i brought the car to the dealership for the repair and the dealership said they would not repair the vehicle due to the mileage being over 150,000 miles. i contacted corporate office via phone. candy, the toyota representative views my profile on toyota.com and confirms vin and mileage and states it is covered and calls dealership. dealership tells candy it will not cover the repair cost and corporate will need to absorb the cost. candy escalates problem to customer relations manager, jonathon. i contacted the toyota corporate supervisor, monique via phone. monique asks for cost of repairs from dealership 'before approving anything.' jonathon, the customer relations manager provides the cost to corporate. then toyota corporate supervisor, monique denies cost to repair the vehicle. several days and phone calls and misleading information from dealership and corporate and now i am stuck with a 2014 camry xle requiring transmission replacement after corporate and dealership personnels provided wrong information. the previous owner was not aware of the warranty enhancement repair and did not submit the vehicle for repairs prior to my ownership. this torque converter malfunction is well documented. it is a safety concern and should be a recall instead of just a warranty enhancement.

when accelerating from a stop the vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and then hesitate for about 1 to 2 seconds. it will then accelerate normally. one time the vehicle accelerated to about 20 mph and then the engine rpm returned to idle. the accelerator was pushed to the floor and the rpm remained at idle. the accelerator was released and pushed down again. the vehicle accelerated normally. this happened only one time. the intermittent hesitation is very dangerous when trying to cross a busy intersection when the cross traffic is uncontrolled.

My car keeps shuddering while driving between 25 and 50 mph. my vin does not show a recall but theres a lot of 2014 camrys that had this recall.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated mainly when idling in traffic. the contact was concerned that a crash could occur. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to stone mountain toyota (4400 stone mountain hwy, lilburn, ga 30047, (770) 736-0030) where it was diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred later during the week. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. the failure mileage was 111,000.

While going down hill the transmission will downshift on it's own to lower gears and speed. while on the highway when trying to accelerate from a slower speed the transmission slams into gear. this has been going on for several years. the dealer said they can't get it to do it, and that there are no codes. it's is especially noticeable when you slow down then try to accelerate. it's now happening more frequently.

When the car starting sped have to stake and the car hold back for some ocation durin the trip in all street. cuando en carro arraca da como un jalon y se aguanta. esto lo sigue haciendo varias veces en todas las carreteras y cada vez lo hace ma seguido.

Transmission shutters on low speeds at 100k miles, should not be happening with a toyota

I just learned that my toyota was covered under a restricted recall until 10/31/17. my car just recently started showing the same issues with vibration at 35-45mph. i would like this recall to be extended to cover all cars with this known issue.

Camry shudders badly at speeds between 25-40 mph when shifting gears in automatic transmission. toyota has a tsb on this shudder but not my vechicle for some reason. during car shudders and heisitates making it feel unsafe.

My car jerks while trying to speed up til about 40 mph. i have to take off slow and build up speed to avoid jerking. once i pass that speed everything is okay until i have to stop at the next light.

My car stalls then shifts or while driving it will shift gears slowing down then speeding up there is something wrong with the transmition. i am afraid to drive it as it can stall and i could get hit. i see there are a lot of complains on this some issue why has it not been recalled my car is a 2014 camry i take good care of my car. but, i don't think that customers need to be paying for something that is clearly a factory issue i just had my transmition services less that 4 months ago and this started 2 weeks ago what can we as consumers due?? to get this resolved do people have to die to get this issue fixed?

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. while driving 25-40 mph, the vehicle vibrated with force; however, when the speed was increased to 45-60 mph, the vibration ceased. the vehicle was taken to don jacobs toyota (5727 south 27th street, milwaukee, wisconsin, (414)-281-3100) where a diagnostic test was performed and a failure code for the transmission torque converter was found. the manufacturer stated that there was a warranty program for the transmission failure; however, the program ended in october of 2017. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 125,000.

The torque converter went bad. the car shuddered when changing gears. especially at low speeds.the car hesitates when accelerating. i had the torque converter replaced two months ago and now the problem is starting all over again. toyota says that my vin was not part of their recall and the problem and the expense is all mine.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. the contact stated that the transmission warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was previously serviced per an unknown recall by fox toyota of rochester hills (773 s rochester rd, unit b, rochester hills, mi 48307, (248) 656-0400), but the transmission warning indicator illuminated after the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 79,080.

Car shudders at 45 mph which becomes whooshing sound at 55 mph. took to dealer, who says it is problem with torque converter. they changed some computer settings which made the problem better, but it reappeared 2 weeks later. now dealer says there's nothing they can do till toyota issues a recall for the transmission. isuue is that the transmission will fail at some point, putting driver and passenger lives are risk

I just learned that my toyota was covered under a restricted recall until 10/31/17. my car just recently started showing the same issues with vibration at 35-45mph. i would like this recall to be extended to cover all cars with this known issue.

Intermittent shudder : i experienced shuddering in my vehicle during 25--50 mph speed and shuddering is heavy when i drive uphill roads and in snow. when happens i felt vibration on the gas pedal and slight vibration on steering wheels and car will not move under normal gas pedal press. i took to the dealer under toyota warranty they replaced torque converter and added couple of pan magnets to collect debris from transmission , but the problem still exist. i informed toyota customer service since then i went to the dealer four more times for the issue but they could not fix the problem. i was told press gas pedal harder when shuddering occurs , but that will lead to an accident and put the driver and passenger harms way. during snow the possibility of accident will be much higher i have to press the gas pedal harder and that will lead to an spinoff and accidents. finally i was told by toyota the issue is not torque converter and i have to drive the way it is. i do not agree with them and i want toyota to recall and fix this shuddering issue before put someone's life in danger. thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*jb

My car once i get to 20-25 mph it starts to jerk badly and then it stops. then it jerks more once i get between 45-55 mph it's been going on for quite sometime now. i contacted toyota and they said it's the transmission shudder. i asked about the recall as i found it online and i was told if my car is out of warranty i would have to pay out of pocket. i can't pay this $1600 and still pay my car note i'm on disability at the moment due to a transplant. i think this is very unfair. i also don't want anyone to run into me on the road i'm scared everytime i pull off in traffic that the car won't switch gears properly and someone may hit me from behind with my kids in the vehicle. please help

When entering freeway i press on gas peddle to increase speed the car hesitates before it picks up speeds.this can and could cause a serious accident. i have read many reports of this hesitation problem. i think it is time for a recall to fix this problem .thank you *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. while driving 40 mph, the vehicle made a strong vibration. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the torque convertor needed to be preplaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufactuerer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 60,240.

When i step on the gas at low speed, normally between 30-50mph my car vibrates or shudders. it only does this when i'm trying to maintain those lower speeds, so the pedal is just barely being pressed down. once i'm on the highway above 50mph i don't have any issues.

The car hesitates for about 4 seconds when accelerating. it does not happen every time but rather randomly. it typically happens once a day (2 hours of driving). this is extremely dangerous when trying to get on the freeway or going through an intersection. it happens when driving around 15 to 25 mph. after the hesitation the car takes off very fast. the pattern seems to be if you are accelerating slightly as if to enter an intersection and then you take your foot off the pedal to coast (no brake applied) and then you try to accelerate again to get through the intersection. this has occurred since the first day the car was purchased so it is not a wear issue. i have been in many, many near miss situations. there are many people discussing this issue on the web so it is not just me. i even found one site where a toyota service rep said they see 40 to 50 cars a week with this problem but they keep turning them away saying there is no problem because it is hard to make the problem happen when it is in for service. this is a huge safety issue that needs to be addressed.

I have a 2014 toyota camry se with 39000 miles and have been in and out of the toyota dealership regarding a shudder/jitter feeling at steady speeds of 40-55 mph. even with latest software update i still have the same issue.the field technical specialist drove my car and did not notice anything so i decided to ask the technician to drive in the car with me. he did notice a jitter feeling however since he could not make the vehicle jitter multiple times he stated that there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. since toyota extended the warranty on the torque converter obviously there is a problem however i keep getting the run around. i feel unsafe driving this vehicle on the highway as i'm afraid that the shudder/jitter feeling might cause someone to rear end me.

First time i had a problem was may 24, 2015. since then it has happened numerous times. the car hesitates when accelerating. it happens randomly; but have noticed since it has gotten hotter, it has been happening almost every day. it happens when trying to accelerate to get on the freeway, or after stopping and accelerating. it doesn't want to go when i step on the gas. it hesitates and it is a little frightening. it was recalled by the dealer one time, but whatever they did, it didn't fix this problem. the car only has 15,000 miles. i am concerned that as it gets older, the problem may get worse. i had a 2005 camry for 9 years and never had this problem. i had read that numerous other camry owners are having the same problem. toyota needs to look into this problem as it is a safety concern--especially while driving on the freeway or driving through an intersection. i've always loved my camry and it disappoints me to have this accelerating problem. it is a danger to me and other drivers. this happens both after being stopped at a light and also when driving about 40 mph on a city street or highway and freeway.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated when accelerating. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the contact stated that the failure was directly related to nhtsa service bulletin number: 10056821(power train). the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the approximate failure mileage was 54,000.

Torque converter shudders under light throttle between 25-60mph. replaced torque converter twice and transmission once and vehicle still shudders. this is a horrible safety issue, as it will shudder on expressway on ramps instead of accelerating as appropriate. software update for some 12-14 camrys but none available for my vin. vehicle has 13,000 miles and problem started at 9,000 miles and is getting worse.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. while attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle would not move after being placed in gear. the vehicle would rev high as if it were in neutral. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it could not be diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 23,000.

The car computer refuses to accelerate properly when needed. when pressing on accelerator to cross busy intersection or from stop light, the exhibited 3-5 seconds of delay, it refuse to pickup speed which could cause a deadly accident! toyota must recall the cars back and fix this problem before someone died again on the road!!!

The vehicle intermittently hesitates (stalls) at starts and at other times as well. we have notified toyota of this situation twice. at first this was just a nuisance (shorter hesitations), but now it is happening more frequently and the hesitations are longer leaving us in more precarious situations. when we arrived today i explained the hesitation problem. some of xxx statements were rather troubling to me: (1) "this is a new system. there is no longer a wire and throttle. you need to learn to re-drive with it." (2) "though we have equipped all toyotas with this new system, this hesitation problem is predominately in camrys." (3) "i have a 15 toyota avalon and i have been waiting for it to happen to me. it has not happened yet." (4) "if the computer engine light is not on, then your car is operating within spec. there is nothing wrong with your system." (5) "new camrys have a lot computers and you need to allow all the interfaces of the all the computers in the vehicle to communicate with one another. this causes some delay." these statements were stated before (1, 2, 4) and after (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) the car was inspected. i told xxx repeatedly that this was our second visit to germain to report the problem and that this hesitation may cause us to have an accident. xxx kept insisting that it was not toyota's / computer's fault, that we just needed to learn to re-drive the car. i disagree that "if the computer engine light is not on, then your car is operating within specs." toyota needs to acknowledge that computers can break, be loaded with improper information, be set up incorrectly, etc. something is causing this hesitation "primarily" in camrys! in our opinion, all toyota camrys with this "new system" should be recalled and this situation addressed immediately. we are hoping that toyota will do the right thing for all camry owners.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would suddenly hesitate and pause for approximately four seconds before accelerating and driving normally. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 6,000.

As i drove, i have noticed the delay in acceleration. despite of me stepping on the gas to speed up to avoid any accident, the vehicle refused to speed up instantly. this has occured when the vehicle is new and my vehicle was brand new at the time of my purchase. numerous hesitations occured on highway and off highway. it also occured from stop signs and making turns.

Owner of 2014 camry since march 2014.in december 2014 i experience my car having issues every time i will go on reverse it will make a clank noise. the more the car will run the worse the noise got. finally, i set up time with norwalk toyota dealership to take my car and get it service and have an inspection. i received the results on 1/13/2015 dealership informed me a claim was filed with toyota in regards to this and the engineers came to conclusion of repairing transmission. the claim is still under investigation at this moment but i don't feel safe driving this car. i noticed there is 3 recalls which was informed to me but the dealership has only performed one. very unsatisfied with this vehicle and with toyota which has not handled the safety precautions that can cause an injury or unsafe of humans driving this make and model. *tr
