The seatbelt doesn't click into place and the sensor doesn't show anyone sitting in the seat which shows the airbag is off. very unsafe if in an accident.

On january 6, 2019, i was involved in a serious multi-vehicle collision on the highway in which my toyota camry was violently rear-ended by another vehicle traveling at 70mph. the collision was of such force that my camry was rammed forward causing me to collide into another vehicle directly in front of me and a domino effect of three additional vehicles in front of him. physically, i sustained a cervical spine injury, rib contusion, left knee joint damage as well as cuts and bruises. what i found most disturbing of all is that not a single one of the many air bags in my toyota camry deployed. the vehicle behind me and the vehicle directly in front of me all had functioning air bags that deployed during the collision. the chain reaction crash put me in a dangerous position (sandwiched by two vehicles) and my vehicle sustained the most harmful impact of all the vehicles involved. since the date of the accident, i have had restless nights as i keep thinking how my life was in jeopardy and why my airbags did not deploy as a safety feature during this collision.
I was in a head on collison totaling it out air bags did not deploy
Defect part safety recall
Air bag off indicator when passenger is present, called toyota, they informed me there was a limited service campaign that had expired, and did not off to correct the problem as there was no recall. i believe this is a safety issue with hundreds of thousands of camry's after doing some research, why not classified as a recall
On 4/11/18, at freeway speed, i was hit hard on the front right from a vehicle which appeared to have crossed crossed several lanes and caused my car to spin around, then was hit directly on the driver's door by another car. i ended up in the car pool lane facing the wrong way. my entire front end was hanging off the car, my door was smashed in and the left rear fender was hanging on by a thread. no air bags inflated!!! none.
December 29th at 3:00 a.m my wife and i was going to the atm in granger tx. as i approached a sharp curve i went to apply the brake to slow down and the car speeded up hit the culvert and went airborne. we came down on a boulder and somehow we managed to drive back to my brother in laws. the airbags did not go off. i have severe whiplash, i cracked my l1 and injured my side and back. my wife's head hit the side window so hard she had a concussion knots and bruises on her head. she has bruises on her right shoulder, hit her knee and leg. if we had not been wearing seat belts we would have died. if our airbags had worked we would not have been hurt as bad as we are. my wife's glasses are bent and my watch is broke. i am sending pictures to prove the airbags did not work. not sur what the odometer reading is because i am afraid to turn the car on since there is no longer no oil or antifreeze.
Not sure if they are takata airbags. my wife was rear-ended (not her fault) that crunched her car between 2 vehicles. the individual at fault, altogether, created a 4 car accident. the issue is that none of the car's airbags deployed. see pictures and judge for yourselves. the vehicle was stationary on a city street. my wife is still suffering with shoulder pains. our insurance company totaled the car.
My vehicle was hit by another vehicle after entering an intersection of a major highway. my vehicle was moving 5-10 mph and sustained major front end damage in collision. after being hit by the other vehicle that was traveling a minimum of 40 mph. my car spun 180 degrees from force of the collision. none of the airbags deployed during or after the collision.
'takata recall' front passenger air bag when deployed could/will release harmful metal fragments rupturing the airbag cushion material, striking vehicle occupant(s) and result in serious injury or death. repair is needed. will contact toyota manufacturer. has not deployed yet.
I got in a car accident twice one back on october 2014 and recent one was on february 27, 2017. both was not my fault. i was driving on a green light out of nowhere suddenly car turned left. i lost control. i ended up hitting other car and then the property on the corner. my car is totaled, the front is completely crashed and my airbag didn't deploy during the accident.

Srs airlight is on. dealership says spiral cable needs to be replaced. the car is only 4 years old. should not have this issue.
My 2012 camry hybird with leather seats. my problem seems to be related to the weight of the previous occupant, ie, if over 200 lbs and it will probably work correctly. but if the exited occupant was less than 200 lbs, the air bag will alarm and message for the (former occupant) passenger to use the seat belt. i'm trying to get toyota to correct the problem but they warn me that i may have to pay to correct something that never occured before their recall.

On 9/24/14, while traveling home from a neighborhood park, i was hit by a truck on the driver side. i was going down a slight hill and was going to turn right at the intersection. i'm not sure exactly what happened prior to impact but my turn signal was on, i was going to turn right and i was breaking. suddenly, i heard this loud crash, when i looked to my left, i saw my driver's side mirror being pushed into my door, then i saw the truck. my car did not stop. i was going apprx 15 to 25 miles per hour maybe, and again i was traveling slightly downhill and would have been making a turn. i think my car was continuing to move forward in the seconds before impact. once i was hit, my car continued to move, seemingly faster. at that point i was very much aware that my car was not stopping and the breaks were not working. amazingly, i was able to navigate the corner (without being hit by anyone coming from the opposite direction) and turn the car into a parking lot (with no control of the breaks). in front of me in the parking lot, which is not a big lot, my car continued heading in the direction of a building there. i could not stop the car and was forced to put it into park, hoping that would stop the car. it did. however, the airbags did not deploy. the police were called, a ticket was issued to me stating that i drove without due care and caution. my insurance and toyota hotline have been contacted. the process is just beginning and i will not know the full extent of the damages until the "black box" is inspected. this has been very upsetting and could have resulted in a much more serious outcome. i thought toyota's acceleration problems had been dealt with. *tr
When driving on a road and hitting a big pothole the srs light in the dashboard might light up and stay on as well as the seat belt restraint light. the vehicle was brought once before to the service facility of toyota and this issue got fixed, when i asked the service staff why is that happening the answer was: "if you drive in a big pot hole the connection to the sensor that is located underneath the front passenger seat might become loose which requires to be connected again and re-calibrated. while having this issue the front passengers airbag might not deploy as the light on the middle console states that the passenger airbag is currently turned off even if the passenger is sitting in the seat and is restraint. to me it sounds as a big safety issue which should not happen just because of a pot hole. *tr

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 camry vehicles. in the affected vehicles, the drain hose for the air conditioning condenser may become clogged causing water to accumulate at the bottom of the air conditioning condenser unit housing. the accumulated water may then leak through a seam in the housing onto the air bag control module potentially resulting in a short circuit of the module. a short circuit may cause the airbags to become disabled or inadvertently deploy.

We received the recall notice in early december, 2013 regarding nhtsa campaign number: 13v442000 dealing with the air bag control module. at that time, we called our toyota dealer for the related service and were told the replacement parts were in limited supply and the earliest we could have this safety issue fixed was in february, 2014. we made the appointment. we received a phone call today, 1/20/2014, that the appointment was being cancelled as toyota could not meet the current demand for the replacement part. we were told to check back in a couple of weeks to see if the situation has changed. we asked what to do if a problem occurs in the meantime and we were told to then call the service department and they would fix the problem. when we asked how they would fix the problem since they are saying replacement parts aren't available, the question was left unanswered. *tr

I received a recall notification for my 2012 toyota camry, that involves the hvac housing and the airbag control module. i made an appointment at my regular service dealership (bronx toyota) and took the car in for inspection. i was informed by the service consultant, that the inspection and possible repair could take three to five days.when i asked, how will i be compensated for this inconvenience, i was told that i will have to take that up with the manufacturer. i called the toyota customer experience center ( 888 270 9371) and was told that i should take the vehicle to another dealer for a second opinion. i drive twenty miles one way to work, mondays to fridays. i leave home about 8 am and return about 7 pm. i depend on my vehicle for my livelihood, that is why i drive a toyota. it is not fair to be going around in circles, just to get transportation to go to work while they repair my vehicle from a recall. who else do i need to contact? please advise. Takata recall. the airbags on my car had previously deployed before i purchased the vehicle. there doesn't seem to be a way to check if replacement airbags are affected by this issue. date of airbag deployment is unknown.
My camry was one of the camry effected by the evacuator hose dysfunction which left my car drenched in water and the air bag sensor was damaged. there was mildew growth in my car and my car extensively damaged and connectors corroded. there needed to be massive repair of my car which left is flawed and value greatly depreciated i am again having problems as my car trunk does not close. it seems to be due to the trunk opening switch which is damaged. it happened first time around 20 december and it happened again today with the trunk not closing my car has suffered extensive damage due to the manufacturing fault and it is my right to a new car which is undamaged and toyota is not cooperating with the repairs not alone changing the car. *tr

Purchased a 2012 camry from wilson motors in bellingham, washington. received a recall notice that due to the possibility that air conditioning water could leak into the air bag control we needed to have a repair done. recall indicated that airbag could deploy inadvertently and cause injury or a car crash. wilson motors could not give us an appointment for one month because toyota motors usa will only allow them to fix one car per day. this is a serious issue that could cause injury or even death. it should be fixed as soon as possible, not at a rate that satisfies toyota motors usa. *tr
