When i reversed from a parking space the car accelerated so rapidly i couldn't control the speed. i had to slam on the brake as hard as i could! tried to return to parking spot. the car continued to accelerate it jumped the curb and was stopped by trees!! absolutely terrifying!!

Trunk cable became loose from the trail, which led to trunk lid closing abruptly and fast. *tr

I was trying to park my vehicle, suddenly gas pedal got stuck and i hit another vehicle and ran in to the bushes, my car has a body damage and also i accidentally hit another car as well. the core reason for this issue is gas pedal getting locked, this is the first time i experience this in the vehicle which i bought by 2011. *tr

My wife was dropping my daughter to school bus stop and when she went o get the letters in our gated community mail.box , she was about to stop in the parking space when the car accelerate by it self, causing her injury and car and property damages. she says she couldn't control the car and the car hit the curb damaging the bottom of the car,the hood, front bumper, fender, passenger headlight ,and radiator and condenser and also the windshield. the car airbag didn't come out at any time. causing her injury in her head and shoulder. *tr

I purchased this vehicle new in 2005, and i am the primary driver of this vehicle. while driving to the store i smelled something burning, when i pulled into the parking lot of the store i saw a lot of smoke coming from the front passenger door. i immediately stopped the car and smoke started filling the cabin of the car. i instructed my 11 year old son who was sitting the front passenger seat to open the door and exit the car. when he opened the door flames started coming out of the door latch area. i turned the ignition off and ran to the passenger side door and poured a bottle of water on the latch area on the door. the fire went out for a second then reignited. i then realized that it was an electrical fire and disconnected the batteries positive cable. i then ripped the door panel off and poured more water down the inside of the door putting the fire out. after insuring that the fire was out i found the fuse that supplied the power to the passenger door and pulled it, i then reconnected the battery cable back and started the car. the passenger door would not latch closed. so i tied a rope to the inside door handle to hold it closed so i could drive it home. no one was injured during this incident. *tr

Rear speaker covers (2) cracked and collapsed inward with no outside forces being applied. inquired at southbay toyota, gardena, ca as to wether this was a parts defect, as i had read many online complaints concerning this problem. i was only given a replacement cost of $65.00 plus tax. *tr

Rear speaker covers are damaged. they have a degraded material which is disintegrated and its broken from edges of cover. i found that many people are having the same problem. please take a serious action against it. they cost $ 225 to replace it. *tr

I own a toyota camry 2005 purchased this fall. i have come close to having an accident at least a half a dozen times. the gas pedal and brake pedal seem to be designed so that are located too close to each other, so when i go to hit the brake i sometimes hit the accelerator pedal instead. this is going to lead to property or bodily harm. i emailed toyota about a month ago but they just said to take it to the dealer who then said the brakes were adjusted. no way has this helped! *tr

Knocking noise in steering when turning steering wheel, loud noise. occurred every time turning steering wheel. took to dealer and had to replace steering shaft assembly, part #45220-33270. dealers invoice was for $503.51 and after stating my case they charge me $233.18 "goodwill adjustment" the old part has been discarded. the camry had only 37,257 miles on it. *tr

On two occassions i thought i was stepping on the brake but the car surged backwards. i was able to stop but not before hitting a car behind me. the second time i hit a fence in a school parking lot while picking up young children. it was dismissal time so there were many 3-4 grade children around. *tr

2005 toyota camry. rear window speaker grills, both of them. they are cracking and falling apart even though no one has touched them an nothing has been placed on them. i understand this has become a common complaint. toyota said i would have to replace the whole section for about $500 for parts. (not including labor) but others say the replacement part falls apart too. *tr

Rear speaker covers cracked and fell apart when touched. *tr

He has been experiencing problem either with the transmission or the accelerator. when he start to accelerate sometimes, usually in low speed, 20% to 40% of the time, there is a few seconds the car does not respond, and suddenly he feel a jolt and the car jumps violently. he has to look back whenever it happens to see if someone has crash in to his car. if there is a car infront of him while in traffic, this could lead potential car accident of hitting the car infront of him. he also has to make sure he does not park too close to other cars or the wall. i have help him reported the issue to dealer 2 times many months ago and they said they can not fix the problem if they can't feel the problem. i have also told the headquarter i found numerous complaints on the same hesitation/acceleration problem my father experiencing and i noticed toyota have been telling other people same response that dealer can not fix the problem if dealer can not feel the problem, and dealer have been telling people this is normal behavior for those who revisited many times. there are hundreds of complaints about this issue if you go search on google (using keyward toyota camery transmission problem). one of the website is i found from google result for example was http://www.autobytel.com/content/research/forums/index.cfm/action/posts/fid/2852. it has 27 pages of such complaints . i have also notice such complaints does not apply to just 2005 year camery but against 2002 and 2007 camery as well. with so many cars they sold over 5 years and so many complaints on their transmission that can lead accidents and possibly already did, toyota are making individuals feel as if they are the only one imagining things. a few people said certain stores allow them to do a computer chip "fix," and the fix was not helpful. on top of transmission problem. he noticed paint peeling, rust paint under 15x magnifying glasses, a bubble on dash board. *tr

I bought a certified 2005 toyota camry xle from autowest honda, roseville. i was told that the car had no accidents and the car is clean per the carfax. i have had the front passenger seat belt replaced and now the driver front seat belt is going out. i received a post card for a free appraisal at 60,000 miles and i took my car into the toyota dealership and they told me the car has been in an accident prior to me purchasing the vehicle. the front end frame is bent and parts have been replaced and the car is maybe worth $8,000 and the car should of been sold as salvage and not certified car. the front bumper is coming off and also the paint chipped off on the side of the accident. the paint is different in the front from the hood. i do not know the date of the incident date, as for it happened prior to me purchasing the car. *tr

Got a brand new 2005 camry. there is damaged or faulty front right tire joint / tire connecting rod. noise can be heard from day 1 but toyota car dealer not willing to fix or repair. still hear the noise. very dangerous - please look into this asap!!

Dt: the consumer was told by toyota that her vehicle has a design flaw. when looking out the side mirror on driver's side the vents reflect in the window. this causes poor visibility when looking into the mirror to check blind spots and oncoming traffic. at night the instrument panel lights reflect in the window also causing poor visibility. the consumer tried diming the instrument panel but that didn't help. *ak *nm

Toyota camry le model has three problems: idle control is above 2400, rod that hold piston is not secure to hold it tight and causing the piston to jiggle around, toyota said that is a defective part and should replace the engine. and weather seal is inadaquate, you can hear all traffice noise with radio on full volume. dealer is very unfriendly and they gave me run around, they replaced the engine without my permission and still has same problems i had before they replace the engine and has not fix the other problems and refuses to give anyone else's name to talk to. 800# tells me to call dealer and dealer tells me to call 800# and still unable to resolve this issue. i will never buy toyota or recommend to anyone. becouse of the poor service when you have problem they do not want to talk to you and they give you run around.*ak

Consumer wants to file a claim regarding the non conformity of the windscreen for the 2005 toyota camry. *mr there was a noise created by the windscreen which was abnormal and loud. there was also a vibration noise coming from the sunroof. toyota's resolution was to refund money. toyota also suggested that the noise was normal. *sc *jb

The panel which held the air bag developed a hole. the consumer was concerned that the air bag may not perform if needed. please provide additional information. *jb

The driver's side back window has had a whisleing sound since i purchased the car. i thought it was just the way the car was made that it wasn't very sound proof but when i rode in the passenger side it didn't make the sound. i believe there is a problem with the weatherstripping or the way the back drivers side door seals. *ak
