Tl* the contact owns a 2004 toyota camry. the contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, another vehicle crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. the contact mentioned that the air bags failed to deploy however, the air bag warning light illuminated. in addition, the contact stated that the seat belt failed to retract and caused the contact's pregnant belly to encounter the steering wheel. a police report was filed. the contact and the front seat passenger sustained muscle injuries that required medical attention. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown. the vin was unavailable.

Vehicle was in motion when another vehicle ran a red light and hit the 2004 camry at the drivers headlight area at about 45 mph! with this high impact the airbags did not deploy and the drivers seatbelt shoulder strap did not catch! drivers head hit the windshield and both driver and passenger went to the emergency room! both received neck and back sprains! camry is a one owner car with 130,000 miles! car was towed and damages are being accessed!

2004 toyota camry. consumer writes in regards to problems with the front seat belts. *smd the consumer stated about a year ago, the driver's seat belt started folding over itself in the slot making it difficult to pull out. after pulling hard and manipulating it to straighten it out, it wouldn't tighten up or retract. the consumer stated it used to happen occasionally, but now he has to struggle with it over 50% of the time. the passenger seat belt, has developed the same problem. *jb

Car was rammed on the passenger side of my vehicle. the air bag did not deploy and my seat belt did not hold me back. i was thrown forward against the steering wheel and seriously injured, though not permanently. both cars were totaled. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 toyota camry. while idling in traffic, she applied pressure to the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle would not accelerate. the vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection. the technician replaced the entire accelerated pedal assembly. however the driver-side seat belt will not retract properly. the failure mileage was 55,000.

Front seat on the drivers side moves when driving (stop for traffic or start after stopping) was advised their is no problem. also the front and rear bumpers have changed color from the original color. i have noticed numerous other blue camrys with the same discoloration of front and rear bumepers. *tr

Crash on 8/4/07. neither of our air bags deployed or shoulder straps on the seat belt worked. we were stopped for a vehicle making a left turn on a highway. there was a pick-up waiting in front of us. a driver failed to stop and rear-ended us. my husband's head went through the windshield. we both suffered injuries, that we are still being treated for. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated without warning, the driver side seat belt quit working. the buckle will no longer lock into the buckle assembly. the dealership determined the buckle assembly needs to be replaced.

Dt: the contact stated the front seat belt straps gradually tightened while in use. she took the vehicle to a dealer, who could not determine what was causing this nor could he duplicate the problem. she purchased some safety clips for the seat belts. the clips did not correct the problem. she heard about a recall on a similar problem, but was not sure if this vehicle was included. no repairs have been made. *ak updated 11/16/2005. *nm

The seat belt folds under the upper shoulder area of the re-tractor, thus binding in the re-tractor this condition causes either the seat belt unusable or further tightening causing breathing problems and or possible entrapment in the vehicle. to this end, i feel this is a serious issue. i filed a complaint with toyota, case # [xxx] on aug. 07-2013, after which they told me they had no such previous complaints? a google search or youtube search will find several complaints of "folding seat belts resulting in jamming". information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
