We have classified the 10 complaints from 2003 Toyota Camry about SEAT BELTS into the following categories.
The seat belt comes unfastened when driving down the street. this happens several times a week. you can pull and pull on the belt and it remains locked, but while traveling on the road, especially if one hits a bump, the belt unlatches and the light comes on and buzzer sounds. went to junk yard to get a different latch and learned that their neighbor's 2003 toyota camry does the same thing. this needs to be investigated and fixed. found same complaint on several complaint boards.
My seatbelt won't click into the buckle and or release on their own has been happening for a couple of months and then have it eventually stopped working completely i cannot buckle my driver seat belt and one of the rear passenger seat belts has started doing the same thing i am about to go to the dealership and have them replaced before i get into an accident i would hate to find out that the seatbelt that does work now stopped working with my child in the car in an accident
The seat belt buckle releases intermittently while driving every day trip and all the time for the past few months, when i put it on i redo it over and over until it latches properly. this happens every time i try to latch it.
My seatbelt buckle button doesn't want to release the seatbelt when i went to toyota dealership, they said it not cover under safety. i have to paid for repair.
Driver's side seat belt does not retract at any time.
Can't take my kids anywhere because it not safe can't gave friend ride .cause it un safe this car is un safe please can fit my car when i got car did no it had problems with bags..my right side dash has line across it bust open. c
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 toyota camry. the contact stated that the front passenger seat belt buckles failed and prevented the seat belt from properly securing the passenger in the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that both the passenger and drivers seat belt buckle needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 345,754. the current mileage was 345,800. rk

The driver's side seatbelt no longer unlatches. the problem initiated with difficulty getting the free end component to lock into the receiving end. *tr
Drivers side seat belt buckle. the spring broke in the seat belt buckle where it clicks in and seat belt won't stay fastened. safety issue. *tr
The seat would not properly retract after unbuckling on our 2003 toyota camry le. pulling it out to retract it caused it to become fully extended so that the seat belt could not be worn. we had to drive it to the dealer in violation of ohio seat belt laws. the dealer could not retract it either and charged us $322.00 to repair it. if we were in an accident we would not have a seat belt restraint. *tr
Dt*: the contact stated the rear passenger seatbelt would not retract. the vehicle was taken to the dealership, which determined the seatbelt assembly needed to be replaced.
Dt: contact stated the right rear seat belt came undone on a passenger during an accident. the vehicle slid in a snow storm and crashed. a police report was taken. the dealer has not been contacted. the manufacturer gave the contact case number, and offered no free remedy. *ak
front passenger side and rear passenger side seat belts locked up while driving. this caused bruises on the chest of passengers in those seating positions. dealer could not duplicate or determine the cause of the problem. *ak
