My 2000 toyota camry has a sticking accelerator pedal that stick when pressed, requiring excess pressure. this causes the car to lurch forward. this happens daily inconsistently. i will be reporting this to my local toyota dealer. *tr
Depressing the gas pedal is sometimes difficult. there appears to be a hangup or impairment in depressing it from a stop or brake operation. it happens about twice a week. *tr
1. sudden acceleration on 2000 toyota camry in nov. 2009. when it was in de-acceleration after taking an exit in ewing nj, it suddenly accelerated like a wild horse, i totally lost control and the car crossed a red light, fortunately, there was no collision occured and the car was under control finally. 2. acceleration pedal sticking: sometime when the gas pedal is pressed, it does not move, a big force needs to be applied to the gas pedal in order to move the pedal and start acceleration. it usually cause over shooting. *cn
Bought my used 2000 camry in aug, 2008. a few months later, gas pedal started sticking when i apply pressure to accelerate after making a stop. sometimes it happens every time i make a stop in a given day. other times, when i'm out and about, it does not stick when i accelerate. i have to give it a little push to accelerate from the stopped position. happens about 70% of the time. makes no difference if it's winter or summer. *tr

Wheel vibration at 60-65 mph. tires balanced 3 times and checked for run out. original tires replaced with michelin. problem improved but steering wheel vibrates side to side. suspension noise from right front end when going over speed bumps, accelerating from a stop and after making left turns. hear gas movement from fuel tank when tank is full and accelerating from a stop or going over speed bumps. dealers say car perform to specs. currently in the pre-arbitration stage with toyota.
The day after purchasing the car we noticed a thumping coming from the rear of the vehicle. we returned the car to the dealer to check it out. upon examination, they said we needed new rear struts. they only replaced the strut caps. shortly after, we filled the gas tank, as it was when we received the car, and realized the thumping sound was still present. we returned to the dealer again. this time they said we needed a new fuel tank, a technician they called in california told them this. after changing the fuel tank, the thumping sound is still present. next they brought in a special technician, who examined our car and said it was completely normal. now we began the process of the massachusetts lemon law. toyota now wanted to examine the car one final time with a regional rep and another technician. they both heard the thumping and decided the rear sway bar needed adjustment, and this would solve our problem. no such luck, the thumping noise is still occuring. we also have found the trunk is not flush with the rear fenders. the technicians say it was just installed wrong and can be corrected. it seems all our problems are in the rear end of the vehicle, and still after almost 3 months nothing is resolved.
