Problems with 2007 Toyota 4Runner ENGINE

On average, the 2007 Toyota 4Runner starts to “feel” problems with the ENGINE and its various aspects after 126 500 miles.

Recently reported ENGINE problems on 2007 Toyota 4Runner

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota 4runner. the contact stated that the check engine and vehicle stability control warning indicators illuminated periodically. the vehicle was taken to seeger toyota (12833 olive blvd, st. louis, mo 63141, (314) 434-5000) where it was diagnosed that the air pump, valves 1 and 2, and the gasket needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 153,000.

Exhaust manifolds on the 4.7 v8 crack where the catalytic converter is welded to the exhaust manifold,causing exhaust leaks. this is a very expensive repair for the owner of the vehicle.

The whole area of exposed steel has been so corroded with rust that i acnnot even remove bolts to service several of the key components in the engine compartment. the frame, cross members, suspension etc. are also affected in this way.i'm no expert but it is progressively becoming more and more unsafe to drive especially if i lose brakes or some other necessary function. please help, is this a bad batch of cheap steel?
