Recently reported SUSPENSION problems on 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Frame is rusted badly poor breaking system i had to replace the lines that keeps my toyota stabilized. i put so much money into my 2004 toyota 4 runner limited. now the rust has taken over on sides and under radiator. transmission lines now leaking badly rust has been an on going problem but when i had it inspecited mechanic brought me out in the garage to show me.

Takata recall this year the exact same frames were replaced on the toyota tacoma. my frame and cross members are rusted out on the front end and this has been garage kept and only has 92k miles. my 4runner should not hsve this much rust on the frame, after it has been meticulously taken care of.

2004 toyota 4runner limited, has excessive chassis rust and rotted out at some point on the sub frame, contacted the dealer and there is no recall available also called toyota and recall is not available.i am afraid that the chassis will break and cause an accident.

Excessive rust and corrosion to the point where my skid plate came off and transmission fluid lines broke apart, leading to major leak and fix - luckily it came off in driveway and not on highway where someone could have been significantly injured. shocks have holes in them from rust and corrosion, as do support bars and frame. can break off pieces of the frame in my hand without effort. concerned that frame could crack, support components could fail while driving because of corrosion. other toyota models have been recalled for rust, using the same components but assembled in different factories than the 4runner and land cruiser models, to my understanding. this is a safety issue that toyota must address before anyone is seriously injured.

Extreme frame rust on my 2004 toyota 4runner. has only 82,000 miles and well maintained. body in good condition, no rust at all. has a lot of rust in the engine compartment also, tabs, lines etc. i know there was a recall on the tacoma for frame rust and i am aware that this vehicle is on a tacoma frame. it is becoming unsafe to drive. i bought this vehicle new because i though the toyota brand was a well built vehicle, but all this rust makes me think different. i have a 1999 ford taurus with well over 100,000 miles on it and has no where near the rust that this toyota has, as a matter of fact there is no rust on the ford frame. i am hoping that i can get some help from toyota in correcting this problem with the frame on my vehicle. when i mentioned it to a toyota service mgr. when it had much less miles on it his response was "well the vehicle is 7 years old, what do you expect" and would do nothing.

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 toyota 4-runner. while driving approximately 15 mph, the contact attempted to engage the 4-wheel drive but it would not engage. the vehicle was brought to a stop and she then attempted to engage the 4-wheel drive again but to no avail. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where she was advised that the transfer hose was fractured and both rear axles were leaking. the failure would only occur when attempting to engage the 4-wheel drive. the vehicle had not been repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 112,000 and the current mileage was 113,000. updated 1/5/12*cn

Severe chassis rust, possibly affecting vehicle and personal safety

Major rust on frame and other mechanical parts. not exposed to salt does not occur with my other vehicles. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 20 mph under normal road conditions, the front right lower ball joint separated. there were no warnings prior to the incident. the vehicle was taken to the service dealer, who determined the front right lower ball joint had fractured.

i have a toyota tacoma 4 door 4 cly pick up..i was on the internet and just notice a recall about brakes,,is my truck included in this recall? and another i have never got any letter or anything telling me about any recalls on my truck and i see here there has been recall for front ball joints and crack frames ,,,seat belt problems..i was in shock..so what do i do can they still fix any problems if any and check my truck..thank you *tr

When stepping on brakes, pedal vibrates and gets very soft. vehicles stopping distance is marginal at best. rotors have been "cut" already with just 13k on the vehicles due to rust build up.boch toyota in norwood mass. tells me that the brake issue is "normal" !! there is also a loud whining noise when applying the brakes. they tell me this is normal also ! also, the tires had to be rebalanced at 13k as i was told they where "cupping". sounds like there is a front end issue with the 2004 4-runner.*ak
