Last month, sidewall failure of bf goodrich touring pro 225/60r16 h-rated. purchased replacement tire at sam's club 3 weeks ago. today, the replacement tire failed - some type of tread separation. concerned as i have these tires on both my 05 subaru outback, and also my 97 volvo 850. only the 2nd incident date is noted. *tr
I have a 2005 subaru outback turbo. turbo failed at 65k miles. axel broke at 64k miles and now the right wheel bearing is out at 70k miles. i understand there is a recall on both rear bearings but not the front. turbo has been a big problem too. *tr
Excessive rear tire wear, bridgestone potenza re92, 225/55/17 installed on 2005 subaru outback. normal tire wear through 19k miles. rear tires completly worn out after 2k road trip with moderate vehicle loading. no signs of mis-alignment or over/under inflation. front tires remain serviceable. *nm
While driving on interstate 35 we encountered patchy ice on the road surface. on more than one occasion with constant speed (60 mph, 10 mph below the posted speed limit), on straight streches of road, the rear end of our 2005 subaru outback awd would skid suddenly. the skids would occur without warning and were large enough to cause some body roll. in all cases the car recovered without input from the driver. when the awd system was deactivated per the subaru manual no such skids occured on the same trip in identical situations. i have driven in minnesota for over 20 years in rear wheel, front wheel, and 4 wheel drive vehicles and have never experienced the sudden skidding in steady state condiditons. the outback was taken to our local subaru dealer and the awd system was checked with no faults found. an internet search indicated that the combinatiion of bridgestone potenza re92 225/60r 16 tires (standard from the factory) and the awd of the subaru may be a dangerous combination. as stated earlier, with the awd system deacitvated and the car in front wheel drive, no skids were experienced. we have the same tire on our 2004 honda civic and have had no winter issues with it.

2005 subaru outback: when cruise control is engaged, acceleration becomes extremely irregular, especially after cresting a hill, engine pulsates as if gas flow to the engine is being interrupted irregularly, car bucks or pulses. low beams on headlights blew after only 10,000 miles, rain and/or dew drips inside car because of car design-drenching all passengers front and back-seat-no window vents available according to subaru. no front seat arm-rests..most uncomfortable car i've ever owned
