After parking and turning the engine the key gets stuck and won't come out. this creates a nightmare when you are outside as you can not just leave the key in the car in a parking lot. it takes fiddling with the gears and trying multiple times to get the key out. it has been happening for some time but now it a lot more regular.

2015 subaru impreza. key gets stuck in ignition following turning the car off, juggling the key does not dislodge it from the ignition. requires the car to be turned on again, moved, wheel direction changed, and turned off again. very frequent issue (every other time driving). sometimes key will not dislodge and requires multiple efforts. this appears to be a common issue for the vehicle based on internet searches and should be corrected by the manufacturer. local dealership mentioned to keep turning the car on and off until it no longer works, then repair will cost 500+ dollars.

Often times the key gets stuck in the ignition and you have to wiggle the shifter a few times to release it.

About 50% of time when i attempt to shut down the ignition and remove the key the key won't turn all the way to "off". i can't remove the key an must turn it back to the "run" position and try to get the key to turn to the "off" position. the vehicle is in the stationary position with the transmission lever in "park". i follow the operator's manual instruction to push in the key when turning it to "off"; i've also tried not pushing the key in when trying to turn it to the "off" position to no avail. my subaru dealer service manager said that this problem is not known to him. cause unknown.

The key gets stuck in the ignition when the car is parked and i try to attempt to take the key out. this happens at least 4 times a week when i drive, doesn't matter how long i've driven for or anything. i put the car in park and the key doesn't come out, it usually takes 3-5 tries of turning the car back on, shifting from park to drive and back to park for me to be able to take the key out. each time i try, i make sure that the button on the gear shift knob not still pressed down and that the knob is shifted all the way into park.

The trunk locking system fails, resulting in the trunk releasing. there is significant complaint of this issue from the subaru community as well.

Moon roof exploded. like a gun shot going off. glass cascaded down on me and my wife. almost killed.

A crack appeared in the middle of my windshield, coming up from the bottom, after no impact, while parked at a gas pump. when parked in the sun the next day the crack grew from a linear 8 inches to a linear 18 curved from a vertical crack to a horizontal crack after the first 9 inches. subaru apparently has windshields on back-order so the car in unable to be driven without reduced visibility for an extended amount of time until they can get a subaru windshield to replace my mysteriously cracked one, without voiding the warranty.
